The 15th annual Hot Rod Shootout is underway with an open practice session. The track located behind the historical Saugus Cafe, the oldest building in the city, dating back to 1886. The track is coming around, as traction is getting better by the hour. The fun, flowing layout has drivers laying down some laps and getting ready for the four rounds of qualifying taking place over the next two days. It should be a good weekend, with many JC drivers in attendance, covering all of the major classes. Bar Codes in Orange compound seem is the preferred tire, with Pressure Points in 4×4 SCT.
