Renato Tradardi Jr Wins The AAPARTT Cup with JConcepts

Race: AAPARTT Cup
Date: August 3-5, 2012
Track: Speed Paradise | Buenos Aires
Race Reporter: Renato Tradardi Sr.

The first weekend of August the AAPARTT Cup was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina at the World’s Track called Speed Paradise. The track its almost like on-road, long straights and long corners, so it’s a speed track, requiring a car with good steering in mid and high speed corners. Friday was the day for open practice, but it was raining all day long so we did not have time for practice.

On Saturday the track was puddled, they began to dry the track until it was able to start. They decided to hold 1 round of 20 minutes free practices. So basically we just had 20 min practice before the qualifying rounds begin.

In the first round of qualify both Renato Sr and Jr had problems, Sr flamed out and Jr had a signal issue and the car went crazy. The track was kind of wet and slippery with a little spots of mud. So the tires decision was JConcepts Crossbows in buggy and Renato Sr ran with JConcepts Hybrids in truggy.

In the second round, the sun would set which made driving really difficult since the lighting at the track was really poor. So it was really tough to see the car. Even though this was the condition Renato Jr ruled this round taking first place, but not enough to be the top qualifier in the overall and Sr took the 5 place in a really competitive round.

In the third round, the track was the same and the conditions were worse. There wasn’t a 3rd round for Truggys but it was one for Buggys and Jr took the second place in that round. Sr and Jr did well and qualified into semi-finals.

Now the track was a lot better, the sun went up and it began to dry the track, so Renato Sr remained using his Hybrids on truggy and Jr decided to use Hybrids too. Renato Sr took the first place in his A semi, going 4 into the final. Renato Jr was leading his semi and he ran out of fuel, so he finished in 5 place, and made 10 into the final.

Finals:

Renato Sr ran a 30 minutes final, with Hybrids green compound ( because the weather was really cold ). Sr made a very nice and clean final, the race was basically in the pits, the first four divers were really close fighting for the first position. At the overall Renato Sr did 4 in the final, in a very hard and nice race.

Renato Jr ran a 45 minutes final, also with hybrids green compound, a few minutes into the race Jr was on his way bumping up positions until he got into 4th, keeping the fight between the first four drivers he opened his way up to take the 2nd place and searching for the lead. He kept with a fast and clean driving style that let him take over the first place spot and finally winning the final.
