In this week’s Product Spotlight we are going to take a closer look at some recent JConcepts option parts that were developed specifically for the Team Associated B74 steering assembly in conjunction with team driver Spencer Rivkin.
B74 Aluminum Steering Bell-Crank Set
This bell-crank set is anodized in blue and includes chamfered silver edging. This CNC-machined system offers you a more rigid steering system for an increased steering feel and response than the stock plastic components.
B74 Aluminum +3mm Steering Rack
This lightweight steering rack for the B74 is also anodized in blue with chamfered silver edging. And just like the bell-crank set the CNC-machined aluminum will give a driver a more rigid steering system for an increased steering feel and response than the stock plastic components. This part also opens a tuning window that is not available with the stock component. This +3mm steering rack gives you the option to place the steering link in a higher position. By doing that you can maintain the proper geometry when you raise the camber link along with the steering block.
B74 Carbon Fiber Front Top-Deck
This is crafted from 2.5mm genuine carbon fiber material and also features milled out sections that are featured through out the design. These milled sections not only reduce the overall weight, but they also enhance its appearance without reducing the strength of the part. The tiny hole in the center of the front top-deck was an option requested by Rivkin.
When this is paired up with the B74 Aluminum +3mm Steering Rack you can line up the part’s holes to either lock or center the steering rack in the middle of the vehicle. This will help you when building your kit so you can achieve parallel positioning of the bell-cranks, front toe-in and the servo horn position.
If you opt to not use the B74 Carbon Fiber Front Top-Deck then you can still line up your steering rack properly by centering its small hole in line with the set screw that holds on the CVA cup.
