The final month of racing in 2020 has started and the JConcepts race team shows no signs of slowing down as we continue stack up wins like gifts under a Christmas tree! Read all about it in this week’s Race Team Update!
Let’s start this week’s report at the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) in Omaha, NE. This past weekend they ran the 2nd round of their 1/8 Winter Series so let’s check on the team to see how they performed.
In the competitive Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy class, team driver Mason Fuller started 2nd in the 30 minute main event. After some back and forth battles with multiple IFMAR World Champion Jared Tebo, Mason would recapture the lead on the 26th lap and would go on to win the race! His TLR ride was equipped with Gold compound Ellipses for the A Main. Joining him on the podium in 2nd place was JC/TLR teammate, Tom Rinderknecht! He used the same tire setup along with a P1 body.
In the 1/8 Electric Buggy class, Mason would capture the top qualifying spot for the single 10 minute A Main but unfortunately he broke out in the main while battling for the lead. But his teammate Ashton Abdul was able to get JC on the podium as he secured 3rd place overall! Ashton said he also used Gold compound Ellipses on Bullet rims.
In the 1/10 Truggy class, team driver and race director Alex Sturgeon took the win in the single 8 minute A Main! He was running smooth on Gold compound Ellipses despite the rough track surface created by the larger buggies that raced prior to his main.
Now let’s send it south into Kansas to check in with team drivers Travis and Stevie Slover. They were in Topeka competing at round 2 of Jake’s RC Winter Points Series.
