The final round of the 2021 Super Cup Championship Series Spring session was held this past weekend at Newberry RC Park in Newberry, FL. Practice began on Friday as drivers started to arrive and setup their pits around the perimeter of the track. There were 11 different classes to compete in this fourth and final round of the Super Cup and the race saw a combined 166 entries!
On Saturday two rounds of qualifying would begin and only a driver’s best qualifier would be used to determine who made it directly into the single A Main for each class. The top 8 were locked directly into the A Main based on qualifying and positions 9 and 10 would come from the B Main as the top two finishers bumped up into the A.
There were a lot of close battles out on the track as drivers tried to gain those final crucial points to claim the overall class title for the series.
The JConcepts team was in full force that weekend so let’s see how they performed started with the premiere class, Mod 2wd Buggy.
In qualifying team driver Jackson Brunson would dominate as he laid down the fastest laps in both rounds!
In the A Main he would lead from tone to tone to take the win! Joining him on the podium to complete the JConcepts sweep was teammates Lee Setser (2nd) and Julien Oliveras (3rd)! And after the series points were added up taking the overall for the class was Lee!

Moving over to the Mod 4wd Buggy class, once again the JConcepts team was dominating the competition as team drivers Lee and Julien would each win a round of qualifying. But the tie break would go to Julien for the fastest run overall giving him the TQ for the weekend!
Starting on the pole he would lead the field for two laps before he would drop back to 5th place. This allowed his JC mate Lee to take over the lead for good as he captured the win for this round and the entire series too! JConcepts would again sweep another podium as Brunson finished 2nd and Julien settled for 3rd!
