The first weekend of racing in May is in the books and the JConcepts race team adds another chapter to their continued success out on the track! We took wins from coast to coast which you can read about in this week’s Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report up in Tacoma, WA at Tacoma R/C Raceway for the finals of their 2020-2021 Northwest Indoor Series. Team driver Austin Cracknell was in attendance and reported that for the final round he took the TQ in both Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy! He would go on to win in the 4wd class and finish 2nd overall in Mod 2wd behind teammate Harley Yoshii! Austin said he used Gold compound Ellipses all weekend long.

Now we head south into California for multiple updates from the team competing at numerous tracks. Our first visit is Silver Dollar RC Raceway in Chico, CA. They recently held Round 2 of the Nitro Wars and team driver Kyle Layton reported that he took the win in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class while using Blue compound Reflex tires, Dirt-Tech inserts and a S15 body!

Next we go to Nor Cal Hobbies in San Jose. This past weekend they held their 2021 Team Powers Cup event and our driver Joseph Levin competed in three different classes. In the 13.5 Stadium Truck class he took the TQ and win while running on Pink compound Pin Downs and Swaggers along with a F2 body! In the 13.5 4wd Buggy class he qualified 2nd for the main and went on to take the win! He used Pink compound Nessi and Swaggers tires along with a F2 body and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing. And in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class he secured 3rd overall running on the same equipment package!

Our next stop in Cali is in the city of El Centro where Ricochet R/C Raceway is located. They just held the final round of the Battle On The Carpet Series between their track and the track at Rise Up HobbyTown located in Palm Desert.

And teammate Dillon Caldwell was also competing at this event and finished 2nd overall in 1/8 Expert Electric Buggy and took the win in the 1/8 Expert Nitro Buggy class!

Crossing the state line into Oklahoma we get our next update from team driver Tyler Keel. He was in Yukon where Taylor Park RC is located to compete at Round 1 of their points series. He qualified 2nd overall in the Open Sprint class and went on to take the W in the A main! He said he used Green compound Dirt Webs and Ellipse tires all with Dirt-Tech inserts.

Heading east we stop in at Barling, AR which is home to GS Hobby. They just held their 9th Annual The Judge event so let’s see how the team performed starting with JConcepts driver Braxten Culley.

He reported that he competed in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes and was found guilty of the double TQ and win in both! The evidence against him was Nessi tires on the rear of both vehicles, Fuzz Bite tires in the front on his wheeler and Swaggers on the front of his 2wd ride.

His partner in crime at this event was teammate Rhett McNair. He also competed in Mod 2wd Buggy and plead guilty to a 3rd place finish on the podium! And in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class he was found guilty of another TQ and win for the team! Both buggies used S2 shells and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing along with Fuzz Bites on all four corners of his 2wd while his wheeler also used them in the rear but opted for Swaggers up front.

Moving north into the “Show Me State” we get our next update from team driver Orlando Martinez. He recently attended Round 1 of the Summer Series at Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs and reports that he left the competition feeling blue with a double win and TQ in 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy! Our next update from the team in South Carolina is from their recent trip to The Hobby Connection in Easley.

The hosted Round 2 of the SOS (Southern Off-Road Series) and team driver David Olsen reports that he started 3rd in the A Main for both the 1/8 Pro Electric and Nitro Buggy classes, but would go on to finish 2nd in nitro buggy and win in the e buggy class! In the truggy class he took the TQ and the win while running fast on Aqua compound Ellipse tires! And in the buggy class he started 2nd on the grid for the 25 minute A Main but after some bad luck with debris on the track he had to retire early with a DNF. Still his car was running fast until that point thanks to a Strike 2 body, F2I wing and both Silver compound ReHab and Aqua compound Detox tires.

Our final report comes from Australian team driver Lachlan Donnelly. He reports that he attended the NSW Australia state title warm up race and won all five rounds of Mod 2wd Buggy and started 2nd on the grid for the A Main for Mod 4wd but would go on to take the W!
