In this week’s Product Spotlight we take a closer look at a new multifunctional tool from JConcepts.
Is it a pair of pliers? A side cutter? A shock tool? The answer is yes to all of these questions, but there is still more than meets the eye with this new offering from JConcepts.
The JConcepts Curved Pliers, Side Cutter and Shock Shaft Pincher multi-use tool uses a five piece design and gives you an array of options for multiple RC maintenance tasks.
Starting at the top, the curved pliers end are machined from steel and have been chamfered to reduce the overall weight. The insides of the curved pliers have also been machined with vertical lines to help you get a grip on any small RC part.
Resting right below that section is a rounded opening section which will help you to lock onto round objects. Continuing to move down you will see that an inner cutter has been built into the design.
You can use this to quickly cut electrical wires.
Or those pesky small pieces of plastic that are left over on new parts when you remove them from a parts tree.
Moving past the pivot point you will find two small diameters that have also been built into the steel pliers.
These holes allow you to hold onto shock shafts without marring the surface and laser etching has been applied to clearly mark them as either 4.0 or 3.0 diameters. Directly across from that rests an official JC logo too.
The handles themselves are crafted from aluminum and have been anodized in blue. Areas have been machined away to reduce the weight even more and silver highlighting has been added to enhance its overall look and feel.
An etched JConcepts.net logo has also been added for brand authenticity and the center pivot can be disassembled with a 4mm wrench for maintenance and cleaning.
Using this tool can reduce the amount of space needed in your toolbox since you can eliminate several tools at once time with this multi-use tool. So potentially you can simply the amount of tools you need to bring with you on a race day, plus save some money too.

So that means it won’t take up much space in your tool box which is always good when you want to keep your budget tight and toolbox light.
