Friday5 With Team Driver Brian Cox

In this edition of the JConcepts Friday5 we talk to South Dakota team driver, Brian Cox!

1. When you first got into RC racing, what pro driver did you look up to and why? Or maybe there was a local/regional driver that you followed?

Scott Brown. I always thought he was one of the friendliest pro drivers and just a genuine overall nice guy.

2. What is your biggest win to date and why?

I was the 2009 HobbyPlex Summer Series champion in Mod 2wd Buggy and 13.5 Stadium Truck. Why….because it probably won’t ever happen again with all these fast kids.

3. If you have been racing for a while now you have probably glued up 100s of tires. So what gluing tips do you have for beginning racers?

I always first clean the bead, mount the tire in the bead, install the tire band, then pull the tire back from the bead and finally apply small amounts of glue as you work your way around the wheel. Take your time, and a little glue goes along way!

4. Name one JConcepts product that you feel is overlooked by many but you find it very useful. It could be a tool, tread pattern, wing, etc.

Honestly my favorite tools are both the Aluminum Camber Gauge as well as the Aluminum Ride Height Gauge as I feel that these two settings are often over looked!

5. Name one thing people might be surprised to know about you.

I love to cook!!!
