Like fireworks on the 4th of July, the JConcepts race team continues to shoot their way to the top of the podium which you can read about in this explosive Race Team Update!
We start this week’s race report in Omaha, NE where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located. Round 3 of their Summer Series was just held over the weekend and it saw 164 entries overall! We had numerous drivers competing there so here are some quick updates from the team starting with team driver Will Brinton. He reports that he competed in the Mod 2wd Buggy class and locked up the final spot on the podium while running Gold compound Dirt Webs in the front, Ellipses in the rear, a F2 body and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing! Joining him on the podium were JC mates Drew Rubenking (2nd) and Alex Vanderbeek (1st) to complete the JConcepts sweep!
Speaking of Rubenking, he also made the podium in the Mod 4wd Buggy class in 3rd place! Joining him on the podium in 2nd was teammate Nate Sutherland! Nate reported that he used Silver compound Ellipses on all four corners.
JC driver Ethan Delair also competed in both classes and finished 5th in Mod 4wd and just missed out on the podium in Mod 2wd! His cars ran the following gear:

In the 13.5 Stadium Truck class, last week’s Friday5 JC driver Brian Cox locked up 2nd place on the podium while running Gold compound Ellipses and a F2 body! He also finished 4th in 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy too!
Speaking of 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy, team driver and Plex Race Director Alex Sturgeon reports that he took the W in this class while running on Gold compound Ellipses in the rear and Dirt Webs in the front! Joining him on the podium in 2nd place was teammate Mack Vanderbeek!
Alex’s son Emerson competed in the Mini Truggy class and took another series win while running Gold compound ellipses all the way around!
Now we head south to Emery Park RC in Wichita, KS. They recently held Round 3 of the Battle For The Belt series and team driver Ken Peterson reports that he finished 4th overall in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class while running on Blue compound Kosmos tires!
Heading further south we check in with team driver Heath Lawson who recently visited Shaw’s RC Track in Ardmore, OK. They were host to Round 1 of the RC Pro North Series and after a long layoff he decided to compete in nitro once again in the 1/8 Expert Nitro Truggy class. He was sitting in the middle of the pack for the B main sort but after some storms rolled through the mains were delayed several hours. So he ended up not finishing the event and left early but still had a fun time and learned so more about nitro racing while using Green compound Triple Dees, Blue compound Reflex tires, Bullet wheels and a Finnisher body!
Continuing our march to the south we now check in on the team competing in the state of Texas at a few difference events. Our first stop is at Wild Bill’s Raceway in Irving where our drivers competed in some recent club racing plus a round of the RC Pro Dirt Oval Series they recently hosted. Starting with team driver Robert Chapman, he took two wins and a TQ in the Outlaw Sprint and Midwest Modified classes! Both vehicles used 9 Shot wheels, Green compound Dirt Webs in the front with Ellipses in the rear.
Also competing at this track was JConcepts driver Gary Guffey Jr. He started dead last for the Outlaw Sprint A Main and moved all the way up to 2nd place! In the Late Model class he would take the TQ and win! He ran Green compound Ellipses in the rear and Dirt Webs in the front for both vehicles.
Another JConcepts driver competing at this track during the weekend was Scooter Etheredge. On Friday for their club races he finished 4th in the Street Stock class and took the win in the Wingless Sprint class! Both cars used 9 Shot wheels mounted to Green compound Ellipses (rear) and Dirt Webs (front). On Saturday night he competed there again for the RC Pro Series and finished 2nd in Wingless Sprint and finished 1st in Street Stock while running the same winning equipment as the night before!
Now we shoot over to Porter where Mike’s Hobby Shop is located. Our driver Brian Henn recently raced there as the track hosted Round 8 of the HARC (Houston Area RC Series) series. He competed in both the 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes and would finished 7th overall in buggy and 2nd in truggy! His buggy used Detox tires while the truggy ran on Reflxes and both tires were in the Blue compound.
Now we head east to get this update from team driver Danny Smith. He recently visited Warehouse Hobby Raceway in Helena, AL for some club racing and finished 2nd overall in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class! His tire of choice was Green compound Reflexes.
Jumping over into Georgia out next update comes to us from JC driver Chris VanRaemdonck. He recently visited the HobbyTown Columbus track in the city of Columbus for their Triple Crown Showdown dirt oval race. Normally an off-road racer he went all in and competed in three classes. He would finish 3rd in Big Block Mudboss, 2nd in Late Model and took the TQ and win in the Mod Sprint class! All vehicles used sanded down Aqua compound Ellipse tires.
Heading up the coast we stop in at City View Raceway in Concord, VA. Our driver Ken Rand Jr. competed at their recent cash series and took the TQ and win in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class while competing on Green compound Reflex tires!
Veering back to the west our next update comes to us courtesy of team driver Brad Collins. He recently went to the RC Farm in Crossville, TN for some club racing and competed in both the 1/8 Pro Nitro and Electric Buggy classes. He would take the double TQ and win in both classes while running on A2 compound Blockers on his nitro car and R2 compound ReHabs on his e buggy!
Let’s now fly up north to M-40 Raceway in Gobles, MI for our next team report. JC driver Kyle Munson raced there over the weekend in four different classes with great results!

Switching gears let’s now head indoors to Thunder Road Raceway in Waite Park, MN. Our driver Thor Ott recently competed there for their Summer Series Race event and reports that he took the win in the Pro 17.5 2wd Buggy class while running on Swaggers and Nessi tires!
Now let’s fly out to sunny California to get a few updates from the team competing at different events in that state. Starting with Joseph Levin he recently raced at Nor-Cal Hobbies in San Jose for their NorCal Belt Championship event. He would compete in three different classes taking the TQ and win in all of them!

Our next stop is at Ricochet R/C Raceway in El Centro. They recently ran Round 3 of their Summer Sunday Series and our driver John Caudillo was in attendance. He reported that he double TQed the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes and would finish 3rd in 4wd and 2nd in 2wd! His wheeler ran Fuzz Bite and Pin Swag tires while his 2wd car used Swaggers and Nessi tires. They were all glued to Mono wheels and both bugs used Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings too.
Now let’s get some updates from our overseas team starting with team driver Jon Dell. He and his son Jake went to Nemo Raceway in the UK for their NitroxCross event. It was the first time that Jake competed on this track and after all the races were finished he would end up taking home some hardware! Saturday night he and his father used Green compound Kosmos tires and on Sunday they used Blue compound Detox tires since it was warmer.
Our next update comes from JC teammates Sebastien Mure and Clément Boda. Last weekend they attended the 2nd Round of the 1/10 French Championship and Clément competed in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes. He would finish 3rd in 2wd and 2nd in 4wd! Sebastien competed in the Stadium Truck class and finished 9th overall! Their vehicles used Dirt Webs, Sprinters and Ellipse tires.
Our final report comes from down under courtesy of team driver Ray Munday. He and his son Lachlan both competed at a recent club race at Keilor in Melbourne, Australia which saw nearly 100 entries. Ray took the TQ in Mod 2wd while Lachlan took the TQ in Mod 4wd.
But after the racing was done it would be Lachlan who would come away with the “Munday tie breaker” as he won in both classes! Their cars used a variety of JC widgets like Silver compound Ellipses, F2 bodies, Mono wheels, Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings and Fin Titanium Turnbuckle sets.
