JConcepts at the RC Pro Oval Series + Indy RC Tire Guide

JConcepts signed on as a supporting sponsor for the entire 2021 RC Pro Series and our drivers dominated the field in the oval portion of the series. The RC Pro Series hosts two different oval series that both share a final event. The format for the dirt oval events were 2 rounds of 4-minute qualifiers followed by 4-minute mains for all classes.

The final race for both series took place at Indy RC World to crown the overall champions! Check out the overall results for both series where our drivers absolutely killed it!! We caught up with a few of our drivers to talk about their tire choices and here’s what they had to say:

Kevin Lenderman was a spotlight driver during this series as he participated in both the North & South Series traveling all over! His hard work paid off as he was able to take 4 podium spots with 3 of them being 1st place! When we chatted him up and he told us that the Aqua Ellipse on Black Hazard Wheels was the winning combo at Indy RC for the finals in Modified SC.

Nathan Dean made the short trip to Indy RC World for the 2021 RC Pro finals. He said the track is usually pretty hi-bite on a regular race night, so with over 120 entries that was definitely the case! He said it wasn’t long into racing that they decided to put on slicks. He experimented with both silver and gold compounds. Ultimately, he landed on silvers as the fastest compound and his results reflected his choice! He was using Ellipses in the rear and Dirt Webs in the front.  In the end, he was able to TQ and win Midwest Modified, Late Model, and Sprint Car at the final race! Overall, he took 4th in Outlaw Sprint for the RC Pro North Series. Check out his podium photos from the finals:

Quincy Hughes was another stand-out driver for us among several others, and he shared his tire strategy with us. In Sprint Car he qualified 3rd and was battling for 1st when a wire came loose, resulting in an unfortunate break. He started with silver Dirt Webs and Ellipses but moved to golds for the final round of qualifying and main event. In Street Stock, he was the overall TQ and took 1st at the final event! It came down to the last corner of the race and he took the win! He ran blue Dirt Webs and Blue Ellipses all day long.  Finally, in Midwest Mod he qualified 3rd and quickly moved into 2nd. He finished in 2nd place right behind teammate Nathan Dean (photo above). He ran gold Dirt Webs and Ellipses all day for this class. Take a look at his awesome rides below!

Ronnie Chapman attended the RC Pro finals with his son at Indy RC World in Garland Tx. “First I want to say we had a great time and enjoyed an awesome event hosted by Tyler Hooks and the whole Indy RC World crew.” He said he spent the majority of his time helping his son, Robert Chapman, with his MWM and Open Sprint trying to tune it in for the high bite surface of Indy. Ronnie did decide to run the Mudboss class and would seed 3rd overall in the first round and would finish 2nd in the second heat which put him 5th in the A-Main. In the main, he would roll off 5th and take the lead on lap three and never look back, winning the race by two laps over the field and three laps faster than his best qualifier! “I wish I could say my JConcepts tires had me hooked up, but the Mudboss is a stock slash class, but my tires were secured with my JConcepts 7mm T-Handle wrench and I never had to worry about them coming loose!” We love seeing father-son duos work together and reach success on the podium! His son Robert Chapman took 1st for the overall series in Midwest Modified! Check out Ronnie’s Mudboss podium photo from the finals race below:
