In this edition of the Race Team Update the JConcepts race team continues their winning ways around the world!
We start this week’s report down in Blue Springs, MO where Fastlane Raceway is located. This past weekend they held their 8th annual King of Dirt Oval Championship that saw over 130 entries. Let’s see how the team performed starting with JC driver Brian Stanton.
He reported that he competed in the Outlaw Sprint, Open Late Model, and Open Midwest Modified classes. After the dust had settled he would finish 7th in Late Model, 6th in Midwest Mod, and take the TQ and win in the Sprint class! All three cars used Gold compound Ellipses strapped to Mono wheels plus he also used the L8D Decked Late Model body.
Also competing at this event was teammate Travis Slover. He reported that he finished 8th in SC Mod and Late Model, plus a 4th place finish in the Slash MDM class! In the SC Mod class, he used Aqua compound Ellipses, Hazard wheels, and Hazard Wheel Dishes. In the Late Model class, he utilized our Ellipses in the Gold compound in the rear, Dirt Webs in the same compound in the front, 9 Shot wheels, and an L8D Decked Late Model body.
Now we move down to Ardmore, OK where Shaw’s RC Track is located. They recently held Round 5 of the Red River Shootout Series and our driver Joel Rodriguez reports that he took the TQ and win in the Sportsman 1/8 Nitro Buggy class while running on Green compound Stalkers!
Next, let’s shoot down to Indy RC World in Garland, TX. The RC Pro Dirt Oval finals were recently held there and team driver Kevin Lenderman finished 6th for the day in the Midwest Modified class while running on Silver compound Ellipse tires up front, Aqua compound Ellipse tires in the rear, and they were all glued up to both white 9 Shot and Mono wheels. When the series points were calculated he would take home multiple awards!
- North Series = 1st in SC Modified Champion and Midwest Modified
- South Series = 1st in SC Modified and 3rd in Midwest Modified

Heading east we settle into the city of Helena, AL where Warehouse Hobby and Raceway is located. Our driver Randy Enger recently club raced there and took two wins in Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy! Both vehicles used the new Double Dees V2 tires in the Green compound along with an S2 body in wheeler and a P2 shell in 2wd.
Turning north we bounce up to Terre Haute, IN where VCRC Raceway is located. They just held their Hoosier Peach Classic and JC driver Brayden Billington checks in to let us know that he finished 1st in both the 1/8 Nitro Buggy and Electric Truggy classes! Both winning rides used Blue compound Reflex tires all day.
Wandering out west we stop in at the Southeast Wyoming RC club in Cheyenne, WY. This past weekend they just held their Cheyenne Showdown event and our driver Ryan Mcclain reported that he finished 38th in 1/8 Pro Nitro Buggy and 6th overall in 1/8 Expert Electric Truggy! He ran Blue compound Reflex and Detox tires on his buggy and Blue compound Reflexes on his truggy.
Continuing out west let’s get a few updates from the team competing at Round 4 of the JBRL Electric Series hosted by Coyote Hobbies Raceway in Victorville, CA. Starting with team driver Chris Raymond he reported that he locked up the final podium spot in the 40+ 17.5 2wd Buggy class! He ran sanded down Silver compound Ellipses along with an F2 body and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing.
His son Chase was also competing at this event and let us know that he finished 5th in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class and took the TQ and win in the 17.5 Stadium Truck class! He ran Silver compound Ellipses, an F2 body, and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing.
Now, let’s check in with our international team competing at the recent Coquitlam Classic in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada. Starting with JConcepts driver Cole Chura he reported that he finished 1st in three different classes at this event!
- 1/8 Nitro Buggy – 1st while running on Blockers tires
- 1/8 Electric Buggy – TQ and 1st while running on Green compound Reflex tires
- Mod 4wd Buggy – TQ and 1st while running on Sprinters and Flip Outs
Finally, also competing there was JC mate Robert Sorjonen. He competed in three different classes too and took home hardware in all of them!
