In this edition of the JConcepts Friday5 we talk to Arizona team driver, Ethan Kovalsky!
1. When you first got into RC racing, what pro driver did you look up to and why? Or maybe there was a local/regional driver that you followed?
When I first got into racing I was fortunate to have the likes of Brian Kinwald, Ryan Maifield and Jake Thayer here locally to follow.
2. In your opinion, what needs to be done to make RC more “mainstream” and get more people involved?
To make RC more “mainstream” and to get more people involved I believe the atmosphere at tracks need to be more family orientated. I also think seasoned drivers need to mentor and help those getting into the hobby.
3. If you have been racing for a while now you have probably glued up 100s of tires. So what gluing tips do you have for beginning racers?
Best advice or tip for gluing tires has to be preparation and patience. Taking your time to clean the bead of the tire and rims can go a long way.
4. To date what is your favorite JConcepts product of all time and why?
My all time favorite product has to be the “Dirt” recessed ball stud washers! They do not only look dialed, but also made it easy to make changes quickly.
5. Name one thing people might be surprised to know about you.
Besides RC racing my other hobby is Disc golfing.
