This past weekend was Round 2 of the Fall session of the Super Cup Championship Series. The event took place at Mills Pond RC Speedway in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This two day event kicked off on Friday with open practice from 10am to 8pm that night.
Due to the weather forecast that called for rain, the turnout was lighter than it normally is with only 78 entries. And indeed late Friday night it did pour down on the outside track. But hats off to the track crew as they went to work Saturday to get the track back into racing shape by noon.
The race program called for two rounds of qualifying and there were 9 different classes to compete in. But the forecast later on Saturday called for more rain so after running the first round of qualifying the mains were up next. The race program was able to plow through 5 of the 11 mains before it had to be called off due to weather. So if a class didn’t run their A Main event, the final positions for the day were based off their only qualifier.
But for the racers that did attend, they still had a great time racing and hanging out with friends in the pits. The JConcepts team was also putting in work and posted some great results even in a condensed race program.
Starting with team driver Lee Setser he doubled up in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes by laying down the fastest runs in both in the only round of qualifying! And since both A Mains were washed out he also came home with the win in both!

And JConcepts driver Kenny Setser would TQ both the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes and since those mains were also rained out he would come away with two more W’s for the team!

Finally, in the 13.5 Stadium Truck class team driver Brian Miller locked up the TQ in the only round of qualifying, and since his main got washed out too he collected the 5th win of the weekend for JConcepts!
