Last weekend was an action pack weekend filled with various types of racing all over the country! One of those big races was the JConcepts West Coast Carpet Championship at PDX Underground in Oregon! Team Driver Joe Pillars put on a phenomenal event and the team put in some serious results! The event was open tire which allowed for flexibility, but ultimately many of our drivers ended up on Swaggers and Nessis.

- 13.5 Stadium Truck: Brian Marcroft (4)
- 17.5 2wd Buggy: Doug Lariviere (TQ), Matthew Gonzales (2), Casey Vitale (3), Cole Hegar (4)
- 2wd Modified Buggy: Austin Cracknell (TQ), Harley Yoshii (3), Ryan Maifield (4), Joe Pillars (5)
- 40+ 2wd Modified Buggy: Brent Thielke (TQ)
- 4wd Modified Buggy: Ryan Maifield (TQ), Harley Yoshii (3), Austin Cracknell (5)
Final Results:
13.5 4wd Buggy: Doug Lariviere (1), Matthew Gonzales (2), Cole Hegar (4)
While Lariviere did take the TQ he still had Gonzales breathing down his neck. Gonzales put up a fight taking the win in A1 and made Lariviere work for it in A2. It came down to A3 but Lariviere was able to win the final two mains and lock in the overall!

17.5 2wd Buggy: Doug Lariviere (1), Matthew Gonzales (2), Casey Vitale (3), Cole Hegar (4), Jacob Mitchell (5)
Doug Lariviere dominated this weekend as he locked in the TQ along with A1 and A2. Lariviere was able to have a faster average lap time and it was this consistency that crowned him the overall champion. However, you don’t want to overlook Gonzales who was hot with a fast lap of 10.98 and the only driver to sub 11 in the 17.5 class.
2wd Modified Buggy: Ryan Maifield (2), Austin Cracknell (3), Ryan Brigani (4)
Austin Cracknell had a marvelous set of qualifiers where he took the TQ and started first on the grid in the mains. He and Dustin Evans battled it out, where ultimately Evans was able to lock up the win after 2 rounds of mains. From there it was a battle between Maifield and Cracknell for the remaining top 3 spots. Cracknell took 3rd in A1, 2nd in A2 and 7th in A3. Maifield was able to take a 2nd, 4th, and 1st which put him 2nd on the podium.
40+ 2wd Modified Buggy: Brent Thielke (1)
Brent Thielke mastered the 40+ class with a picture perfect weekend! From start to finish he flawlessly took the overall victory. It was clear cut between winning all 4 rounds of qualifying and swiftly taking the first two mains!
4wd Modified Buggy: Ryan Maifield (1), Ryan Brigani (4), Austin Cracknell (5)
4wd Mod Buggy was more straight forward compared to 2wd Mod. Maifield snatched up two wins in A1 and A2 leading to the overall victory! Evans and Dibrino didn’t flinch and consistently took 2nd and 3rd never losing their positions.
The weekend was a success for the JConcepts Team as they worked hard and left with the hardware to show for it. A big thank you to Kevin Focht and Joe Pillars on a fabulous JConcepts West Coast Carpet Nationals! We look forward to attending again next year!
