With fall just on the horizon, this is a good time to look back at this past summer to see all the new and exciting products that JConcepts has released. And we make it easy for you to do in this Summer Edition of the JConcepts Product Rewind!
S15 Tekno EB48 2.0 Regular Weight Clear Body
Last year we debuted this new body shell for the Tekno EB48 2.0 in a lightweight version and fast forward to 2021 we now offer this in a regular weight option too!
This clear body still uses the same features like a rear stabilizer kick-up and mid-body winglets. The cab forward roof line features a “shark fin” for added stability and windows masks and a decal sheet are also included.
Finnisher Titanium Short Antenna Blank
Next, we switched gears up with another Finnisher offering for your full size vehicle. The JConcepts Finnisher Titanium Short Antenna Blank is machined from high-grade, titanium materials and also features black anodizing to highlight aspects of its final appearance.
It uses a 1/4″ – 20 thread base so it is compatible with full size trucks like the Ford F-150, F-250 and Raptors. Although it is not a reception style antenna, it does work with satellite radios so do keep that in mind when making a purchase.
So, if you do pick this up either install it by hand or with an adjustable wrench and then hit the road in style with JConcepts!
No one drives harder than Ryan Maifield out on the racetrack, and now we are offering some inserts that run just as hard as he does! Our latest offering under the RM2 product line are these hard inserts for both 2wd and 4wd off-road buggies.
These are available for both front and rear 2wd and 4wd tires and they are colored black for easy identification. These inserts are made of durable materials that can be reused many times. The inner chamber of the inserts have horizontal channels cut in a 360 pattern to soak up the large impacts and help create forward bite and increase acceleration.
These will also work with both treaded and slick/sanded off-road tires and are also sold in pairs.
Black Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set For The RC8B3.2 & RC8B3.2e
JConcepts is now offering its popular Fin Titanium Turnbuckle set in a black color option for Team Associated RC8B3.2 and RC8B3.2e vehicles.
Crafted from the same high-grade, machined titanium materials these turnbuckles have been anodized in black to give drivers one more option when completing the final look of their vehicle. Each turnbuckle features a beefy 5mm square titanium center (camber and steering links) which gradually tapers down into a thread base design which accepts the OEM rod ends that are include in kits.
This set also includes a 3mm steering drag link and they are all produced with left and right-hand threads with the left conveniently marked for easy orientation.
The popular Double Dees tread pattern has been updated for 2021 with all new features! Available for both front and rear 2wd and 4wd buggies, the new V2 design uses a broader carcass for a better feel in straight-line tracking ability.
The sidewalls are slightly taller and provide more cushion for bumps, ruts or any other imperfections commonly seen out on the track. The inner carcass webbing has also been designed to incorporate a more traditional overlapping X pattern concept to provide the all-around support needed at high-speeds. Forward bite and stability is provided by the back-to-back D shaped pins in the center of the tread pattern.
Dual square pin’s surround the center structure, and to fill in the rest of the tire, the lugs have been spread out in a staggered pattern with alternating open sections to free up space for dirt, debris, and flex. The outside of the pins has been clipped, angled, and sliced to give drivers a smooth driving feeling as well. Each set of tires also include Dirt-Tech closed cell inserts.
S2 Schumacher Cat L1 Evo Clear Body
This new body shell is sold clear and includes two carpet / turf rear wings. A channeled roof doubles as a vent to direct the air flow through the center of the body, plus increase the durability of the cab.
It also uses our popular dual side-window layout and this body design also includes upper side-pods that can be removed to help vent heat that builds up underneath from the electronics.
Each body includes an overspray film, decal sheet and window masks, and it is also offered in our standard or lightweight materials.
Aluminum & Carbon Setting Board
Back by popular demand is the JConcepts Aluminum and Carbon Setting Board. First released in 2016, this large setting board is back with an exciting new color option.
It is comprised of 2.5mm carbon fiber material and encased with four separate aluminum trim pieces. Those trim pieces are available in either black or copper color options and they both choices include etched JConcepts.net logos for brand authenticity.
Heavy-duty 3mm hardware is included to assemble each board and once assembled you can dial in both 1/10 and 1/8 vehicles from many different disciplines of RC. Get yours today before they are all gone again!
Finnisher 17mm Magnetic T-Handle Wrench
Next, JConcepts released this new tool which will be a hit for 1/8 racers! The Finnisher 17mm Magnetic T-Handle Wrench is constructed from both aluminum and steel materials and anodized in blue. It will help you to install or remove wheel nuts that are used in today’s 1/8 nitro and electric vehicles.
It also works with both the traditional serrated wheel nuts and our new magnetic wheel nuts (read on for info on that). The T-handle will allow you to grip this wrench and add more torque when you need to make sure the wheel nuts are secure for a long main.
And when you need to remove them it will also help you to back them off. If you are using magnetic wheel nuts then we’ve got you covered since a small magnet has been inserted inside the wrench. This will keep the nut in place once it is removed so you don’t drop it in pit lane or have it roll off your pit table.
Finnisher 17mm Serrated & Magnetic Wheel Nuts
These magnetic wheel nuts feature a large, serrated area that help them to lock into place on the wheels. These are designed with a large flange and clamping surface area which will help to maintain geometry during flex and load. They are kept lightweight thanks to areas of material that have been removed which also gives it that distinctive “Fin” look that has become a staple of JConcepts products. The design also features a closed end that will help to keep dirt and debris from building up in the hub or axle. The end also features JC logos that have been etched into it, plus a set screw that will make them ideal for our new Finnisher 17mm Magnetic T-Handle Wrench.
However, you can use these new wheel nuts with a traditional wrench, but those set screws would not be needed. If you do opt to use the set screws with our new wrench, it is recommended to add a small amount of glue to each set screw and then install them from inside of the nut. Position the set screw so it touches the magnet inside the wrench and has holding power. Allow the glue to properly cure in that position before you use them on your vehicle.
JConcepts continues to push racing evolution with the release of this new body for 1/8 Truggies. Already proven a winner by winning at the 2021 ROAR Fuel Nationals, the new F2 1/8 Truck Clear Body features a reduced area above the front shock tower. This reduces the overall weight of the body and makes it more aerodynamic since it wraps more tightly around the chassis. This will also help to reduce the amount of air caught underneath the body when soaring over jumps too. This body was also designed to fit five different chassis configurations for the Mugen, Team Associated, TLR, HB, and Tekno.
In order to do that this body was designed to use a carbon fiber mount that extends off the front shock tower. Each of these five carbon fiber mounts are sold separately and you will need those plus either the Team Associated #81447 or Mugen #MUGE2148 (for MBX8T) body mounts to place the front of the body in correct position. Once you have the correct mount and carbon fiber adapters (see our website for more details) you can use the hardware that comes with the mounts to bolt it to the shock tower.
Once you have this front nose piece mounted you can apply headlight and grille decals from the included decal sheet to make this ROAR legal. Overspray film and mounting instructions will also be included with this body too.
High-Flow 30x30x10mm Aluminum Cooling Fan
Next, we followed up a cool body with a new product that will help cool your vehicle’s electronics. The new High-Flow 30x30x10mm Aluminum Cooling Fan is anodized in black and laser etched into the aluminum housing is a JConcepts.net logo. The aluminum housing will protect the inner fan and motor inside, and this fan is the perfect size to mount in various locations on your car. The fan is prewired with a JST plug and includes an extension wire to help you install it. Every racer knows a cooler motor runs faster, especially in longer mains, so get a leg up on the competition and pick your fan up today!
Honeycomb Aluminum +2mm Motor Plate For The Team Associated DR10 & SR10
Gearing up means going faster and JConcepts now makes this process even easier for drag and dirt oval racers! The new Honeycomb Aluminum +2mm Motor Plate features longer motor slots that allow a driver to install larger pinion sizes to unlock the targeted gearing ratio.
This plate is also 3mm thick and machined from aluminum which makes it lightweight and durable at the same time. It is also aesthetically appeasing with its milled out areas in a honeycomb pattern, plus chamfered highlight edging.
It is also anodized in either black or blue color options and is a drop fit for the Team Associated DR10 and SR10 vehicles.
Next, we released some new Class 1 Scale Country tires for rock crawling enthusiasts.
Starting with the Hunk tires these new treads use the industry standard bead mounting diameter of 1.9″ so they are compatible with several wheels already out on the market today. In the center of this new tread pattern are intertwined larger lugs that are U-shaped and have key areas removed to help them grip more in slippery conditions.
It also uses alternating rows of outer treads that will produce a paddle like effect, and its overall size is 3.93″ with an insert. Small openings were added to the radial sidewall ribs for more traction and stability. Also on the sidewall are old western style JConcepts lettering with a visible part number, overall tire sizing and hatch marks near the bead area.
The Hunk is available in our Super Soft, Green compound and also includes our medium firmness open cell inserts.
The other new tire is called the Tusk and it features a V-shaped lugs with multiple steps to the side for additional grip in the center of the tread pattern. Large, staggered traction bars were added to the sides to continue the V-shape pattern too. The shorter versions of these traction bars work in conjunction with the center lug, while the longer version helps to fill a void underneath and then meet up with the center of the tire.
All of the traction bars used in this design feature relieved cuts and slots on the top to break up the flat surfaces and increase grip on various surfaces. Highly detailed sidewall lettering is used for product naming, sizing and identification purposes.
This tire also 3.93” in its overall size with an insert and available in our Super Soft, Green compound. Medium firmness open cell inserts are included and this tire will fit a variety of 1.9″ wheels on the market.
1987 Chevy Camaro IROC Clear Drag Body
Next, JConcepts released a hot new body for the drag racing scene! This new shell captures that classic 1980’s Camaro body style and it is compatible with a variety of vehicles like the Team Associated DR10, Losi 22S and Traxxas Drag Slash. Its body dimensions are 11.25″ in width with a 13″ wheelbase so it will also work for custom applications too.
Features of this body include dual recessed ducts on the hood that can be louvered out with the included decal sheet. The side windows are highly detailed and recessed to give a driver a larger viewing area for the chassis underneath. It uses a large, one-piece rear window that mirrors the full scale vehicle. This also gives a driver more flexibility when it comes to choosing a body mounting system that is available on the market today. The rear bumper has been dove-tailed to help provide more air flow, and you can also place the included tail light and license plate decals here too.
The included rear wing comes with hardware to assemble it and when finished it will provide more over-hang, small side-damns and rear gurney performance. Windows masks, a detailed decal sheet with a grille and overspray film are also included.
Aluminum Steering Rack & Bellcranks For The DR10, SR10 & RB10
The final releases of the summer were some more option parts for Team Associated DR10, SR10 & RB10 vehicles. First, we announced a new Aluminum Steering Rack.
This CNC-machined rack replaces the stock plastic piece and is available in black and blue color options. Even though it is machined from lightweight aluminum it will provide a more rigid steering system than the OEM part which will give a driver an increased steering response and feel. Other features include machined chamfered silvers edges, and an engraved JConcepts.net logo for brand recognition. Each package also includes two thin crush tubes which are colored in black.
Place these between the bearings in the rack when installing this part. It is also important to align the crush tubes in place when assembling all of the components, and since you are aluminum parts with metal screws also make sure to add a dab of threadlocker to keep the parts intact.
We quickly followed that up with these Aluminum Steering Bellcranks. Again, these are both anodized in either black or blue color options, and it is forged from lightweight aluminum material. They also feature chamfered silver edges and engraved JC logos. This system is more rigid than the stock parts and give drivers another setup option when they are looking for more steering feel and response.
These also include two thin black crush tubes that are placed between the bearings in the steering rack. Again, we recommend adding a small amount of thread lock when installing the components.
