Race Team Update – November 2021 Week #2

The second weekend of racing is in the books for November and the JConcepts race team keeps stuffing the win column which you can read about this week’s Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report down at Mike’s Gulf Coast RC Raceway in Porter, TX. This past weekend they held a special 50/50 money race which always brings out the competition. Team driver Brian Henn competed in two classes and finished 2nd in 1/8 Electric Buggy and took the TQ and win in 1/8 Electric Truggy! His e truggy was running fast on Green compound Reflex rubber while his e buggy used both Green compound Reflex and Detox tires.

Teammate Dillon Caldwell was also running two classes at this special money race. He doubled up with a TQ and win in the 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes while using Detox tires in both the Blue (nitro) and Green (electric) compounds!

Heading north into Oklahoma we get a few updates from the team competing at different races through out the state. Our first report is from Mojo Hobby in Oklahoma City for their recent Woodman Memorial Race. Team driver Heath Lawson competed in the Midwest Mod class for the first time. He bumped into the A Main and then moved up all the way up to 4th place by the time the race had ended! For qualifying he used Green compound Ellipse tires, but switched to the Gold compound for the main. Both tires were mounted to Mono wheels.

Also competing at this race was JC driver Randy Lathrop. He raced in the Outlaw Sprint class and finished 1st in the A main! For the main opted to used Silver compound Dirt Webs and Ellipse tires that were all mounted to 9 Shot rims.

Our next update in Oklahoma comes to us courtesy of team driver Will Brinton. This past weekend he made the trip over to Shaw’s RC Track in Ardmore for their Truck Nationals race. He competed in the Gas Truck class (2wd nitro stadium truck for you kids out there) and took the win for the event! He used Green compound Double Dees in the front, Green compound Goose Bumps in the rear, And 1 foam inserts and the F2 body in the lightweight option.

Continuing our march up north we cross into Kansas and stop in at Ultraline Hobbies RC Raceway in Topeka. They recently held the first round of the their Winter Points Series and team driver Riley Filbert let us know that he took the TQ and win the Mod 2wd Buggy class! His car was running fast on Fuzz Bite tires on all four corners, Mono wheels, plus a F2 body and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing!

Moving even further north we stop in at 510 Raceway in Foley, MN for our next report from team driver Thor Ott. This past weekend he competed there for their November Melee Trophy Race which had nearly 120 entries! He raced in the Mod 2wd Buggy class and took the TQ and win while running smooth on Gold and Silver compound Ellipse tires and a P2 shell!

Also competing at this race was JC mate Joe Zaier Jr. He raced in the Mod Stadium Truck class and took the win while running on Gold compound Ellipse tires plus a Finnisher body!

Bouncing over to Indiana we roll up to the city of Granger where RC Fun Park is seated at. This past weekend they hosted the Indiana State Indoor Championships and let’s see how the team performed starting with JC pilot Kyle Munson. He competed in three classes and had solid results in all of them!

  • 17.5 2wd Buggy = 6th place while running on Smoothies 2 in the Silver compound along with a F2 body
  • 13.5 4wd Buggy = 10th place while running on Smoothies 2 in the Silver compound along with a F2 body
  • Mod 2wd Short Course Truck = TQ and 1st place while running on Aqua compound Ellipses sanded to slicks

Fellow JConcepts driver Chris Rothwell was also at this race, and also raced in three separate classes making the podium in all of them!

  • 1st in 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy
  • 2nd in 13.5 4wd Buggy
  • 3rd in 17.5 2wd Buggy

All vehicles used sanded down Silver compound Ellipse tires along with P2 and S2 lids.

Crossing over into Tennessee we get this next report from JConcepts driver Jonah Wilson. He recently competed at RC Farm in Crossville for their Fall Shootout trophy race. When the event had concluded he secured two TQs and three wins in 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes along with 1/8 Electric Truggy! Both bugs utilized Silver compound ReHabs while the truggy feasted on Gold compound Ellipses.

Now we head for the coast and visit Thunder Alley RC Speedway in Lucama, NC. They recently held their “Great Pumpkin” Race and team driver Luis Diego let us know that he took home the hardware in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class while using Green compound Reflex tires!

Also racing there was fellow JConcepts driver Josh Parrish in the 1/8 Pro Electric Buggy and Mini Truggy classes. He would finish 4th overall in e buggy while running on Green compound Detox tires plus a S15 body, and in the Mini Truggy class he would take the TQ and win while running on Blue compound Sprinters plus a Finnisher body!

Josh wasn’t done racing for the weekend as he crossed the state lines and visited Badlands RC Supercross in Myrtle Beach, SC. They held a Fall Brawl warmup race and he competed in the 1/8 Electric Truggy and Buggy classes. He would finish 4th in e buggy with Green compound Reflex tires plus a S15 body! In e truggy he locked up position three on the podium while racing on Blue compound Ellipse tires and a F2 body!

Also competing at this warmup race was team driver David Olsen. He competed in the 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes and finished with two wins plus a TQ in electric buggy! His e buggy used Blue compound Teazers glued to Bullet wheels while his nitro ride used Silver compound ReHabs plus Bullet wheels and a S15 shell. Joining him on the e buggy podium in 2nd place was teammate Ken Rand Jr.!

Heading south into Florida we next visit Coral Springs RC Track in Coral Springs. This past weekend was Round 5 of their South Florida Off-Road Championship Series and team driver Carlos Segui reports that he took first overall in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class while running fast on Green compound Reflex tires!

Also competing at this round was JC driver Loren Kretzschmar in the Mod 4wd Buggy class. He would finish 3rd for the round while using our Green compound Reflex tires!
