Race Team Update – December 2021 Week #2

With only weeks remaining in 2021, the JConcepts race team continues to get it done! Read about our winning ways in this new edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s race report out in Washington as the team hit a few tracks for events over the weekend. Our first update from the state comes to us courtesy of team driver Brannon Beauchamp who recently traveled to Grant County Fairgrounds in Moses Lake. That was the site of the Northwest Arena Championships and he finished in 4th place in Nitro Buggy and 3rd overall in 40+ Electric Buggy!

Moving to the city of Tacoma where Tacoma R/C Raceway is located, let’s get some updates from the team competing at Round 2 of the Northwest Indoor Series that was held there over the weekend. Team driver Austin Cracknell competed in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes and would secure the double TQ and win in both! He used Gold compound Ellipse tires and Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings.

Joining him on the Mod 4wd Buggy podium were teammates Harley Yoshii (2nd) and Derek Mesa (3rd) to complete the JConcepts sweep! Derek also reported that he finished 6th in Mod 2wd Buggy and both bugs used Gold compound Ellipses, F2 bodies and Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings.

Now we move south to the PDX RC Underground located in Portland, OR. This past weekend was Round 3 of their Rockstar Series and team driver Cole Hegar let us know that he finished 4th in Mod 2wd Buggy and 3rd in Mod 4wd Buggy! He utilized our S2 body along with Swaggers and Nessi tires, and was joined on the Mod 4wd podium with teammates Ryan Reavis (1st) and Harley Yoshii (2nd) to complete the JC sweep!

Now we shoot down to Texas to get a few updates from the team competing at different tracks in the state. Our first stop is Mike’s Gulf Coast RC Raceway in Porter. This past weekend was Round 1 of HARC (Houston Area RC) series which also served as their annual Toys for Tots race. JC driver Brian Henn reported that he finished 4th in Pro Electric Buggy and took the TQ and win in Electric Truggy! He used Green compound Reflex tires on his truggy and Green compound Detox tires on his buggy.

Joining him on the truggy podium in 3rd place was teammate Brian Germany! He said he used Blue compound Reflex tires for this event.

In the Open Nitro Buggy class team driver Cody Babbitt finished 5th while running on Blue compound Detox tires! Joining him on the podium in 1st place was JC teammates Phi-Long Nguyen and Robbie Darby in 3rd place!

Staying in state we now move to Indy RC World in Garland for this next update from team driver Robert Chapman. He went to race there at Round 1 of their Winter Dirt Oval Series and took the TQ and win in the Late Model class! He said he used Blue compound Dirt Webs on the front, Blue compound Ellipse tires in the rear, and joining him on the podium in 2nd place was JC driver Quincy Hughes!

Moving north into Oklahoma, we now stop in at Shifty’s RC Raceway in Tulsa.

Team driver Heath Lawson recently competed on their turf surface and finished 5th overall in the Pro 17.5 2wd Buggy class! He used Nessi and Swaggers glued to Mono wheels, plus a P2K shell and a Fin Titanium Turnbuckle set.

Now let’s go to the “Show Me State” for a few team updates. Our first stop is at Sullivan where Childress R/C Racing held a Winter Series event for monster trucks at KC Hall. Team driver Chris Parrish won in the Retro racing bracket with his Bearfoot Racer truck that was decked out in the following gear:

  • Regulator chassis conversion kit
  • Regulator Servo Mount Kit (BAS)
  • 1988 Chevy Silverado body
  • Gold compound Golden Years tires
  • Tribute wheels

He also competed and won in the Sport Bracket with his Bearfoot Racer which used the following option parts:

  • Gold compound Renegades tires
  • Tribute wheels
  • Silent Speed 17T Adjustable Timing Competition Motor

Also competing at this race was Jeremy R. Mark. In the Retro class his replica Buffalo Tremor II made both finals and won in Bracket 2 using the following JC goodies:

  • Regulator chassis conversion kit
  • 1982 GMC K2500 body
  • Gold compound Golden Years tires
  • Tribute wheels
  • Silent Speed 27T Brushed Fixed End Bell Competition Motor

He also competed in the Sport Modified class and his Sudden Impact truck won in the Racing Bracket 1, and his Taurus truck won in Racing Bracket 2! Both trucks used the following JConcepts gear:

  • 2005 Ford F-250 Super Duty body
  • Gold compound Renegades tires
  • Tribute wheels
  • Silent Speed 17T Adjustable Timing Competition Motor

Also crushing the competition at this event was JC driver Daniel Agosh. His Mopar Muscle truck took its first bracket win while using the following gear:

Now we head to St. Charles where SmacTrac is located. This past weekend they held their 2021 Archway Classic and team driver Brad Dean reported that he doubled up in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes with two TQs and wins! Both rides used slicked out Silver compound Ellipses, F2 bodies, Mono wheels and RM2 inserts.

Out next tour stop is at Omaha, NE where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located. This past weekend was Round 2 of their Winter Series and team driver Riley Filbert reported that he competed in his first Gas Truck race and would set the TQ!

In the main he would unfortunately break out, but was running fast that day on Gold compound Ellipse tires and a Finnisher body.

Taking the win in the Gas Truck class was teammate Will Brinton! Will said he also finished 6th in Expert Electric Buggy, and his truck used Gold compound Ellipses along with a lightweight F2 body, while his e buggy used the same tire setup and a S15 body.

JC driver Ashton Abdul put in solid results as he finished 4th in both the Nitro and Electric Buggy classes! Both bugs used Gold compound Ellipses and Bar Codes plus a S15 body and F2I wing.

JConcepts driver Drew Rubenking also competed in two classes and finished 3rd in Expert Electric Buggy and took the TQ and win in Mini Truggy!

Teammate Mason Fuller would finish 2nd in Expert Electric Buggy and also took the win in the Expert Nitro Buggy class! He used Gold compound Ellipse tires and joining him on the podium in 3rd place was JC mate Seth VanDalen!

Heading further to the north we stop in at 510 Raceway in Foley, MN. This past weekend they held their Holiday Hustle 2021 event and team driver Thor Ott finished 2nd in Mod 2wd Buggy!

He used Silver compound Ellipses and a P2 body, and it was also a JConcepts sweep in this class as teammate Kyle Holmberg finished 3rd and James Dolan took the W!

Also racing there was JC driver Joe Zaier Jr. in the Mod Stadium Truck class. He said he took the TQ and win while running on Gold compound Ellipses and a Finnisher body!

Now we bounce over to Indiana to visit the Hoosier RC Hobbyplex in New Albany. This past weekend was Round 1 of their Winter Points Series and team driver Adam Rayls reported that he took the TQ and win in both the Mod Stadium Truck and Mod 2wd Buggy classes!

His cars used Smoothies 2 and Ellipses in the Silver compound mounted to Mono wheels, plus a Finnisher truck body, P2 shell on the buggy and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing.

Trucking down to Helena, AL where Warehouse Hobby and Raceway is located we get our next report from team driver Randy Enger. This past weekend the Warehouse held their 10th Annual Toys for Tots race and he competed in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes. He was able to take the double TQ and win while running on Green compound Double Dees and Ellipses, plus S2 and P2 bodies!

Now let’s head further south into Florida for a few updates from the team. Our first stop is at Capital City Raceway in Tallahassee. They hosted the 6th and final round of the Florida RC Championships this past weekend and team driver Patrick Rossiter Jr. said he finished 3rd in Pro Electric Buggy and 2nd in Electric Truggy! And after the points were all calculated he would finish 3rd overall in the Pro Electric Buggy class and took the class title in Electric Truggy!

Also racing at the finals was JC driver Carlos Segui in the 40+ Electric Buggy class. He would take the TQ and win that day and also the season title while using Green compound Teazers!

JConcepts driver Tony Rivas also competed in the 40+ Electric Buggy class and would finish 4th for the day! He also raced in the Open Electric Buggy class and would finish 2nd while running on Green compound Teazers, Dirt-Tech inserts and Bullet wheels!

Our next stop in Florida is in Brooksville where Ron Jon Raceway is located. This past weekend they held their Wounded Warrior oval race and team driver AJ Zale finished 3rd in the Mod Sprint class while running on Silver compound Ellipses glued to 9 Shot wheels!

Also turning left turn laps was teammate Erik Everett in the Super Late Model class. He would also finish 3rd while running on Silver compound Ellipses!

Finally, let’s get quick update from Australian driver Jordan Isergin who recently went to Hills Off-Road RC in Sydney to compete at the 2021 XRS Series.

 

He competed in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes and would finish 3rd in 4wd and 2nd overall in 2wd! Aiding him were Green compound Sprinters and Dirt Webs and joining him on the Mod 2wd podium in 1st place was JC driver Lachlan Donnelly!
