Even with a shortened holiday week the JConcepts race team stays hungry for more victories out on the track which you can read about in this stuffed Race Team Update!
We start this week’s report down in Bartow, FL where Triple Nickel Raceway is located. This past weekend they hosted Round 5 of the Florida RC Championships so let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver Tony Rivas.
He competed in the Open 1/8 Electric Buggy class and set the TQ and finished 2nd overall! Then in the 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy class he started 3rd for the main and would move on to take the win! His winning ride utilized Green compound Teazers, Dirt-Tech inserts, Bullet wheels, a F2I wing, a S15 body and a RM2 Bridge 1/8th Wing Button. Joining him on the podium in 2nd place was JC teammate Carlos Segui!
Carlos also reported that he used Green compound Reflex tires in A2 in the buggy class, and he also finished 4th overall in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class! That ride was running strong all day on Green compound Reflex tires too.
Also running at this event was team driver Carl Lebo. He raced in the 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and finished 2nd overall using a S15 body and Green compound Reflex tires!
JC driver Patrick Rossiter Jr. competed in two classes and finished 3rd on the podium in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy class while running a S15 body and Green compound Kosmos rubber! And in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class he would set the TQ and finish in 2nd place while running on Green compound Reflex tires!
Now we head up to Georgia for a few updates from the team. Our first stop is in the city of Columbus where the HobbyTown Columbus track is located.
Team driver Jason Westfall recently visited there to compete at their Turkey Shootout race. He would finish 2nd overall in Mod 2wd Buggy and also took the TQ and win in the Mod 4wd Buggy class! Both rides were rocking Silver compound slicks along with F2 shells.
Staying in state we now head to Barnesville where The Barn RC Raceway is located at. They recently held their first club race at this new facility and our driver Chris VanRaemdonck was there to throw down some laps.
He competed in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class and would finish 2nd overall while running on Green compound Reflex tires, Bullet wheels, a S15 body and a F2I wing!
Flying up north we land at RC ONE in Macomb Township, MI. This past weekend they held their 2nd Annual Great Lakes Challenge and we had many drivers in attendance so let’s see how they finished up. Starting with team driver Russ Bryant he competed in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class and would finish 6th for the day while running a F2 body, Sliver compound Ellipse tires and Mono wheels!
Also racing that weekend was JC driver Jeff Todd in the 17.5 2wd Buggy and 13.5 Short Course Truck classes. He would miss out on the A Main in 17.5 2wd Buggy but locked up the final podium spot in the 13.5 SCT class! His vehicles used the following JC goodies:
- 17.5 2wd Buggy = P2 body, Mono wheels, Silver compound Ellipse tires and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing
- 13.5 Short Course Truck = HF2 body, Hazard wheels and Silver compound Ellipse tires
Also cutting laps was teammate Chris Rothwell. He would finish 10th overall in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class and 5th place in 13.5 4wd Buggy! Both cars used sanded down Silver compound Ellipses on all four corners.
Leaping over Lake Michigan we land in New Franken, WI where Dirt Heaven Hobby and Raceway is located.
Team driver Ryan Derenne reports that he competed at their Great Pie event on Thanksgiving Eve in three separate classes with great results and even took home an apple pie when the event had concluded!
- 40+ Super Stock 2wd Buggy = TQ and 4th place with a P2 shell plus Silver compound Ellipses sanded to slicks
- Mod Stadium Truck = 3rd place with a Finnisher body and Silver compound Ellipses sanded to slicks
- Mod 4wd Buggy = 11th place with a S2 body and Silver compound Ellipses sanded to slicks
Also competing for some pie was teammate Richie Peters in the 17.5 and Mod 2wd Buggy classes. He would go on to take wins in both classes while using a Finnisher body, slicked out Silver compound Dirt Webs up front, Ellipses in the back and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing!
Staying in Wisconsin we now move to New Richmond where the The Toy Box is located. Team driver Thor Ott brought out his toy Mod 2wd Buggy and took the TQ and win at one of their recent trophy races! His winning car used Gold compound Ellipse tires and a P2 body.
Now we head down to Omaha, NE where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located. This past weekend was Round 6 of their Off-Road Carpet Series and team driver Ethan Delair was in attendance. He competed in the Mod 2wd Buggy class and would take the TQ and win while running on Swaggers, Twin Pins, and a S2 body! His younger bro Elliot also finished 3rd for the day in the Novice class!
Dipping down into Kansas let’s now get an update from team driver Ken Peterson. He recently went to HI Performance Hobbies in Hutchinson for some club racing and would finish 2nd overall in Mod 2wd Buggy while using slicked out Silver compound Ellipse tires!
Heading east into the “Show Me State” we find ourselves back at Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs. Team driver Orlando Martinez was back as well throwing down laps at a recent club race and would take the double win in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes! Both bugs used Silver compound Ellipse tires, F2 bodies in the lightweight option and Mono wheels.
Shooting down to Texas let’s get a few updates from the team competing throughout the state. Starting with JC driver Joel Rodriguez he reports that he was in Arlington to compete at GoldStar Hobbies and Raceway for their Thanksgiving Eve race event. He would finish in 2nd place in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class while using our Swaggers and Twin Pins tires!
Moving to Thornhill Racing Circuit in Hutto team driver Tyler Hooks let us know that he took the double win at a recent club race in the Expert 1/8 Nitro and 1/8 Electric Buggy classes! Both winning buggies used Green compound Reflex tires and S15 bodies.
Heading west we land in sunny California to get our next updates from the JC team. Starting with team driver Jeremy Tooker he recently competed at the HobbyTown USA in Santee for a parking lot race that was organized by The Lap Factory. He entered the Mod and 17.5 Touring Car classes and finished 6th in 17.5 and 2nd place in Mod! His car used our A2R (A-One Racer 2) 190mm body for the race.
Moving to Beaumont where Thunder Alley RC Raceway is located our next report was filed by team driver Mike Sorchy. He was there competing at the inaugural Hot Cup race and took the W in the intermediate 1/8 Nitro Buggy class while using Green compound Reflex tires mounted to Bullet wheels!
Our final report comes to us from international team driver Daemon Holon. He recently visited Bego Racing RC Raceway in Napierville, Quebec, Canada for some club racing. He would compete in the 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes and finished 2nd in 2wd and took the TQ and win in 4wd! Both cars ran on Silver compound Ellipse tires plus a F2 body in 4wd and S2 shell in 2wd. Finishing 2nd on the 4wd podium was teammate Eric Deschesnes!
