The third weekend of racing is another successful one for the JConcepts race team! Read about our winning ways in this fresh edition of the Race Team Update!
We start this week’s report out in sunny California. The JConcepts team was hard at work competing at several tracks throughout the state. Our first stop is in San Diego where SDRC Raceway is located. This past weekend was Round 1 of their Supercross Series and team driver Levi Raymond finished 1st overall in the 13.5 Expert 4wd Buggy class! He used sanded down Silver compound Ellipses along with a S2 body, and joining him on the podium in 2nd place was teammate Chase Raymond!
Our next stop in the state is at Nor-Cal Hobbies in San Jose. This past weekend they held Round 3 of their Indoor Winter Championship series and team driver Joseph Levin took the triple TQ and win in three different classes!
- Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy = TQ and 1st while running on Pink compound Swaggers and Nessi tires, Mono wheels, a lightweight F2 shell and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 6.5″ Rear Wing
- Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy = TQ and 1st while running on Pink compound Swaggers and Nessi tires, Mono wheels, a lightweight F2 shell and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 6.5″ Rear Wing
- 13.5 Stadium Truck = TQ and 1st while running on Pink compound Swaggers and Pin Downs tires, Mono wheels and a Finnisher body
Also competing at this race was JC driver Rob Moots in three classes as well. He would finish 3rd overall in the 13.5 Stadium Truck class, 6th in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy and 2nd overall in the 40+ 17.5 2wd Buggy class! He used a variety of JC gear on all of his vehicles:

- Pin Downs tires
- Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing
Next, we head over to the city of Camarillo where Roadrunners RC is located. They recently held the final race of their Winter Points Series and our driver Jesse Granat reported that he took 2nd place in the 1/8 Expert Electric Buggy class while running a S15 body and Green compound Reflex tires!
Now we shoot over to Texas for a few more updates from the team competing at various tracks. Our first update comes to us courtesy of team driver Brian Henn who recently competed at a new carpet track in the city of Houston called Houston RC. He competed in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class and would set the TQ and finish 2nd overall! He used Fuzz Bites on all four corners and mounted them to Mono rims along with a S2 shell and the B6.3 Front Wing.
Moving to the city of Garland we meet up with JC driver Kevin Mcnatt who was competing at Round 3 of the Winter Oval Series held at Indy RC World. He competed in the SC Mod class and would set the TQ by putting down the fastest laps in all rounds of qualifying! Unfortunately in the main he would break out and finish 6th overall but his car was running fast that day on Silver compound Ellipse tires.
Now we head north to Omaha, NE where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located. This past weekend they wrapped up their Carpet Off-Road Syndicate Series so let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver Ethan Delair. He reports that he was able to take another TQ and win in the Mod 2wd Buggy class and easily wrapped up the overall title for this series! For the finals his car was hooked up while running on Fuzz Bite rears, Swaggers up front, a S2 body, a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing and a Black B6.3 Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set. Joining him on the podium in 3rd place was teammate Alex Sturgeon!
JC driver Chance Rohlk competed in three different classes for this series and when the points were all added up he would take home 1st place in all of them!
- 17.5 2wd Buggy = 1st place overall while running on Swaggers and Twin Pins tires and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing
- 13.5 4wd Buggy = 1st place overall while running on Fuzz Bite tires, a P2 lid and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing
- 13.5 Stadium Truck = 1st place overall while running on Pink compound Swaggers and Pin Downs tires and a F2 body
Teammate David Peavler let us know that for the finals he would finish 7th in Mod 2wd Buggy and took the TQ and win in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class while running on Fuzz Bite and Swaggers tires plus Mono wheels!
Sending it to the “Show Me State” let’s get a few updates from the team that recently competed at the Childress R/C Winter Series in Sullivan. Starting with team driver Chris Parrish he reports that in the Retro class his Bearfoot Racer swept both brackets 1 and 2 with wins! It used the following JC goodies:

- 1988 Chevy Silverado Monster Truck body
- Golden Years tires in the Gold compound

In the ProMod class his Indominus truck would take the win against his Bearfoot truck driven by teammate Jeremy Mark! Both vehicles used a variety of JC option parts:

Speaking of Jeremy, not only was he busy running his teammate’s truck but also six trucks of his own that day! In the Sport Modified class he would place three of his trucks (Taurus, Sudden Impact, and Buffalo Tremor) into the final four of racing bracket #1! In the Pro Modified class his Sudden Impact replica made the semi-finals of racing bracket #1 and the finals of racing bracket #2! All four of these trucks used the following gear:

Now we head full steam to Altoona, PA where Shaffer’s Full Steam RC Raceway is located. Team driver Matt Morris recently competed there at their Operation 11 Charlie benefit race and finished 2nd in 13.5 4wd Buggy and took the W in 17.5 2wd Buggy! He said he used Fuzz Bites on his 2wd while his wheeler rocked Fuzz Bites in the front and Pin Swag in the rear.
Moving south into Maryland we head to The Track in the city of Gaithersburg. Team driver Jose Zayas recently competed there at their USRC event and would double down in the Mini Truggy and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes with two victories! Both cars were equipped with Silver compound Ellipse tires.
Now let’s get a few updates from our international team starting with team driver Alberto Garcia. He recently raced at the 2022 Madrid Championship held at Circuito CARTT Fuencarral in Madrid, Spain and would finish 3rd in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and took the TQ and win in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class! Both bugs used Blockers and Ellipse tires in the Green and Blue compounds.
Next, let’s head to Australia to see how the team finished up at the recent 2022 Victorian State championships held in Melbourne over two days. Starting with team driver Jordan Isergin he reports that he would take the double TQ and win in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes! The rear tire was a control tire but in the front he used Green compound Ellipses along with a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing, a Aero S-Type Rear Wing Center Divider, a B6.3 Front Wing and a F2 shell.
Joining him on the Mod 4wd podium were teammates Lachlan and Ray Munday to complete the JConcepts podium sweep!
Teammate Andrew Selvaggi reported that he also doubled up with TQs and wins in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes! He opted to use Green compound Dirt Webs up front along with a F2 body on his 2wd, a S2 body on his wheeler, Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings, Mono wheels and a B6.3 Front Wing.
Finally, JC driver Jarod Ment let us know that he finished 6th in Mod 4wd Buggy, 3rd in Mod 2wd Buggy and 1st place in Mod Stadium Truck! He used F2 lids along with Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings, Aero S-Type Rear Wing Center Dividers and Mono rims. Great job team!
