Friday5 With Team Driver Ennis Graves

In this edition of the JConcepts Friday5 we talk to North Carolina team driver, Ennis Graves!

1. When and how did you get started in RC? And what class do you compete in or did you primarily bash your vehicles?

Around 2015 I went to Speed RC to see if they had parts for my original RC10T. After a good laugh or two about how old the truck was they showed me the tracks. That’s all it took to get me hooked. I started racing indoors with stadium trucks and 1/10 buggies. I then found nitro, which quickly became my favorite. I enjoy nitro buggy and truck on a regular basis now.

2. For this year, what races are you looking forward to attending and why?

For this year, first and foremost I like to support my local tracks S&B R/C Speedway and Carolina R/C Complex. I plan on racing some of the SOS (Southern Off-Road) Series and NC SCT Challenge Series too. As far as big races go The Wicked Weekend, The Peach State Classic, and the Fall Brawl are always fun.

3. If you have been racing for awhile, what would you say is the number one technology advancement in RC to date AND why?

As far as advancements in RC I think it’s great that tire companies are making 1/10 tires you don’t have to sand to be competitive. I think this makes 1/10 more appealing and makes it easier and desirable to get involved for beginners.

4. To date what is your favorite JConcepts product of all time and why?

Favorite JConcepts product has to be the Reflex. When in doubt it will usually get you somewhere in the ballpark of race pace. Then it’s up to you to pick a good compound.

5. Besides RC cars, what other hobbies are you into?

Besides racing I enjoy working out at least 4four times a week, golfing, and watching sports.
