In this Product Spotlight we take a closer look the JConcepts Fin Titanium Front Axle. This option part was first designed for the Team Associated B6.3 vehicle line, but it is also compatible with the newly announced B6.4 series too.
The Fin Titanium Black Front Axles are crafted from high-grade titanium lightweight materials and anodized in black.
They feature a ‘blooming flower’ design that not only looks great, but it also helps to reduce the axle’s weight since less material is used. Small JC laser etched logos have also been added to the inside of the design, and key areas have also been machined away to enhance its overall look.
Here you can see the Fin Titanium Black Front Axles sitting next to the B6.3 and B6.4 kit’s aluminum front axles.
The stock kit axles weigh in at 3g.
The Fin Titanium Black Front Axles weigh ever so slightly more at 4g, but thanks to their titanium materials they are much stronger than aluminum.
Also included are 1mm spacers that can used to increase or decrease your buggy’s track width. It is recommended to start with a stock width setting (1mm spacer placed outside) during the initial build and installation of these axles. Now let’s quickly go through the install process using a B6.3D.
The first thing you need to do is to install the bearings into the vehicle’s steering block. The slip one of the included 1mm spacers on the axle.
Then slip the axles through the bearings and secure it from the backside with the kit’s hardware. You will want to add a dab of thread lock to keep the screw in place.
Then install the steering block back into the vehicle and you are ready to hit the track!
