Race Team Update – April 2022 Week #4

For the last week of April the JConcepts race team continues to rain down on the competition on several tracks around the world which you can read about in this new edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report at Badlands RC Supercross in Myrtle Beach, SC. This past weekend was their 20th Annual Spring Sting trophy race so let’s see how the team performed starting with team driver Ennis Graves.

He reports that he finished 3rd in the 1/8 Nitro Truggy class while using R2 compound Reflex tires and a F2 truck body! Joining him on the podium in 2nd place was his JConcepts teammate Ken Rand Jr.! Ken said he used Blue compound Reflex tires along with a F2I wing.

Team driver Jake Stikeleather was also at this race and he set the TQ in the Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy class! After the mains were complete he would finish in 3rd while running Blue compound Blockers and a S15 shell! And Ken made another podium appearance with a 2nd place finish!

Also competing for the team at this event was team driver Monty Reeder in the 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy class. He would finish 3rd for the day while using our O2 compound Stalkers!

Now we head west to Crossville, TN where RC Farm is located. This recently held their 2022 Spring Jam event and team driver Trevor Michael competed in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes. In e buggy he would finish 3rd overall while running on Green compound Triple Dees and a F2I wing! In the e truggy class he would lap the entire field as he took the W while running on Green compound Reflex tires plus a F2 truck body!

Crossing the Stateline into Arkansas we stop in at GS Hobby in Barling. This past weekend they held their 10th Annual Judge race which saw a record 157 entries!

Team driver Matthew Pyle was at this event and he competed in three different classes and made the podium in all of them!

  • 17.5 2wd Buggy = TQ and 1st while using Fuzz Bite tires and a F2 body
  • 13.5 4wd Buggy = 2nd while using Fuzz Bite tires and a F2 body
  • Pro2 SCT = 1st while using Swagger and Pin Down tires and a Hi-Flow body

His teammate Heath Lawson also competed in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class and would finish 5th while running on Nessi rear tires and Fuzz Bites in the front along with a P2K body!

JC driver Braxten Culley captured the double TQ and win in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes while competing with Fuzz Bite tires in the front, Nessi tires in the rear, S2 shells and Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings!

Now we shoot down to Hutto, TX where Thornhill Racing Circuit is located. Here we find team driver Billy DiCorte Jr. who recently raced there for Round 3 of the Thornhill Championship Series.

He would finish 7th in Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy and took the win in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class! His truck used Bullet wheels, Blue compound Triple Dees, a F2 truck body and a F2I wing. His buggy used Bullet wheels plus Blue compound Reflex tires, a Silencer shell and a F2I wing.

Also competing at this event was fellow JC pilot Brian Henn. He raced in the Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy class and finished 9th overall!

Next, we send it north to Taylor Park RC Raceway in Yukon, OK for our next update. They recently hosted a round of the RC Pro Dirt Oval Series and our driver Robert Chapman competed in two different classes. In the Outlaw Sprint class he would finish 3rd while in the Midwest Modified class he took the win! Both cars were equipped with Green compound Dirt Webs in the front, Green compound Ellipses in the rear and all glued to black 9-Shot wheels.

Heading way up north we get our next report from team driver Thor Ott. He recently went to MMR3 in Minneapolis, MN to compete at their Friday Night Off-Road Winter Series. He raced in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class and would take the win while using Fuzz Bites tires glued to Mono wheels!

Heading back toward the east we land at WOCRC Raceway in New Florence, PA. Last weekend was their season opener trophy race and team driver Matt Adams was ready for action as he competed in three different classes!

  • Mod 2wd Buggy = 2nd place while racing on Green compound Dirt Webs in the front and Black compound Ellipses in the rear plus a F2 body
  • Stadium Truck = 2nd place while racing on Black compound Ellipses, Mono wheels and a F2 body
  • Pro2 SCT = 2nd place while racing on Green compound Ellipses, Hazard wheels and a High-Flow body

Now let’s get a few updates from out international team starting with team driver Jarod Ment. He recently competed at Lap Addict RC in Kotara, New South Wales, Australia for the Indoor State titles event that was held there. He competed in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes, and would finish 7th in wheeler and took the TQ and win in 2wd buggy! He used a variety of gear on both vehicles:

  • Ellipse and Dirt Web tires
  • Mono wheels
  • F2 bodies
  • Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 6.5″ Rear Wings

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Clément Boda. He recently competed at a warm-up race for Round 3 of the French Championship and he took the double TQ and win in both Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes while using F2 shells and Mono wheels!
