In this edition of the JConcepts Friday5 we talk to Texas team driver, Cody Babbitt!
1. How did you first hear about racing RC cars? And what classes did you compete in?
I have been around RC cars for most of my life through my dad, and he has raced on and off for years.
2. Dirt Oval has really grown in popularity over the past few years. In your opinion what is the main cause of this increase of left turn drivers?
I think the exposure is a main cause for oval racing to become more popular. When people see how real they look, the constant close battles on the track; it is just a non stop adrenaline rush!
3. What is one tip you have for new drivers getting into RC racing that you would like to share?
My best advice for new drivers is to focus on being smooth, and let the speed come to them. A lot of times a newer racer will look at fast laps and make that a priority instead of focusing on being smooth and consistent!
4. To date what is your favorite JConcepts product of all time and why?
The JConcepts pit mat is my favorite product made. It makes any pit area look clean and organized
5. Besides RC cars, what other hobbies are you into?
I have several other hobbies outside of RC racing. Bowling, skeet shooting, and playing Cornhole!
