Race Team Update – September 2022 Week #4

The JConcepts race team continues their dominance on tracks around the globe! Read where we won at this past week in this race packed edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report “down under” as the JConcepts team was putting in work at a few different events in Australia. Starting with team driver Darren Johnston he recently competed at MORBC in Whiteman, Western Australia for their annual 5 Hour 1/8 Endurance race. After five hours of racing were complete he finished 2nd overall on Blue compound Stalkers!

Staying in Australia let’s now check in on the team competing at the recent 2022 1/10 Australian Off-Road Nationals held at Chargers RC in Carole Park, Queensland. Starting with team driver Andrew Selvaggi he reports that he set the TQ in both the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes and finished 2nd in wheeler and 1st place in 2wd! His cars were running fast on the following JC goodies:

  • F2 body
  • Black Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set
  • B6.3|B6.4 Servo Mount Brace
  • Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing
  • Mono wheels
  • Aqua compound Dirt Webs
  • S2 body in the lightweight option

Also competing at this event for the team was driver Lachlan Munday in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes. He would just miss out making the podium in both, but took home an award in concourse for his painted F2 body for his B6.4! Along with F2 bodies he also used Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings, Aqua compound Dirt Webs and Ellipses, Black Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Sets and Mono wheels.

JC driver Jarod Ment competed in three different classes and finished in the top 10 in all of them!

  • Mod Stadium Truck = 2nd place while using Mono wheels, Aqua compound Ellipse tires and a Black Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set
  • Mod 2wd Buggy = 4th place while using a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing, Ellipse and Dirt Webs tires, a Black Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set, Mono wheels, B6.3 Fin Titanium Front Axles and a P2K shell
  • Mod 4wd Buggy = 7th place while using a S2 body, a Black Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set, Mono wheels and a a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 6.5″ Rear Wing

His tire teammate Lachlan Donnelly also competed in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes at this event. He would finish a solid 2nd place in both while using a lightweight F2 body on his 4wd car, a standard weight P2K body on his 2wd ride, Aero S-Type 7″ Rear Wings, Black Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Sets and Aqua compound Dirt Webs!

JConcepts pilot Jordan Isergin also competed in the same two classes and locked up the final podium spot in both! He reported that he used R2 and Aqua compound Dirt Webs, F2 bodies and Aero S-Type 7″ Rear Wings.

Now we fly back to North America and stop down in Canada at Bego Racing RC Raceway in Napierville, Quebec to check on the team competing at Rounds 6 and 7 of the Quebec RC Series. Starting with team driver Guillaume Tremblay he competed in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy and Truggy classes and after the series points were tallied up he would take home the championship in both classes! For the last rounds he competed with Aqua compound Reflex tires and a F2 truck body on his truggy, while his buggy used Silver compound Rehabs and a S15 lid.

Also competing at the final two rounds was his teammate Daemon Holon. For Round 6 he would finish 4th in 1/8 Nitro Truggy, 6th in 1/8 Nitro Buggy and set the TQ and finished 4th in 1/8 Electric Buggy! For the final round he competed in the same three classes and finished 5th in 1/8 Nitro Truggy, 3rd in 1/8 Nitro Buggy and 2nd in 1/8 Electric Buggy! When the season points were added up he would finish 3rd in 1/8 Nitro Buggy and Truggy! For the final two rounds he used Aqua compound Ellipses plus a F2 truck body and S15 shell.

Crossing the border let’s head to Munday RC Raceway in Post Falls, ID for the finals of the WERC (Wilde Events RC) Series. Team driver Jacob Hudson competed in three separate classes and won in two of them!

  • 1/8 Nitro Truggy = TQ and 1st while racing with a F2 wing
  • 1/8 Nitro Spec Tire Buggy = Qualified 3rd but finished with a DNF
  • 1/8 Nitro Buggy = 1st while racing with a F2I wing and Aqua compound Detox tires

Moving south let’s check in with team driver Adam Peters who recently competed at Adobe Mountain RC Speedway in Phoenix, AZ. Saturday night was the finals for their Hot Summer Nights series and he finished 6th overall in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and 3rd place for the entire series! For the finals he used Green compound Kosmos tires in qualifying before switching over to Reflexes in the same compound for the main.

Moving northeast let’s stop in at Omaha, NE where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located at. This past weekend was the finals for their Summer Series which saw nearly 190 entries! Team driver Brandon Kearney attended the finals and after the season points were tallied up he finished 9th in both Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy! For the finals he used lightweight F2 bodies, Mono wheels, Smoothie 2 tires in the Silver compound and Aero S-Type 7″ Rear Wings.

His tire teammate Ethan Delair took the win in Mod 2wd Buggy and finished 6th in Mod wheeler for the final round! When the season points were added up he finished 6th in Mod 4wd and 3rd in Mod 2wd! Both cars used Silver compound Smoothie 2 tires, Mono wheels, lightweight F2 lids and Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings.

JC driver Drew Rubenking locked up the 2nd place position in both Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy for the entire series while running fast on Silver compound Smoothie 2 rubber! Joining them on the Mod 2wd Buggy podium in 1st was teammate Alex Vanderbeek to complete the JConcepts podium sweep!

Team driver David Fast competed at the finals too and finished 4th in 13.5 Stadium Truck, 8th in 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy took the W in the Mini Truggy class! After the points were calculated he would finish 9th in 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy and 6th 13.5 Stadium Truck! For the finals he used Silver compound Smoothie 2 and Gold compound Ellipse tires.

Team driver Ken Peterson also got some racing in at the finals and finished 3rd in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy and 1st in 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy! After all the series points were added up he would finish 5th in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy and 4th in 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy while competing on Silver compound Smoothie 2 tires! Joining him on the 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy podium for the final round was JC teammate Mack Vanderbeek in 2nd place!

JConcepts driver Bradley Peterson finished 2nd overall for the series in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class while using sanded down Gold compound Ellipses, a F2 body and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 6.5″ Rear Wing! He also secured the final podium spot in the series for the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class while racing on Silver compound Dirt Webs and Ellipses, a F2 body and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 6.5″ Rear Wing!

Team driver and race director Alex Sturgeon would double down by taking the series title in the 13.5 4wd and 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy classes! And joining them on the series podium in 3rd place for the 13.5 4wd Buggy class was fellow JC driver David Peavler to complete the JConcepts podium sweep!

JC driver Mason Herrick finished 4th in Mod 4wd and 7th in Mod 2wd Buggy for the finals, and for the entire series he would lock up 4th place in both classes! For the finals he used Silver compound Smoothie 2 tires, Mono wheels and a F2 body on his wheeler.

Now let’s move north and visit Thunder Road RC Raceway in Waite Park, MN for our next team report. JConcepts driver Brayden Nelson recently competed there for their September trophy event. He competed in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes and took the win in both! He used our Fuzz Bite tires, Mono wheels, B6.3 Fin Titanium Front Axles and Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings.

Heading down to Indian Creek RC in Petersburg, IL we get our next report from team driver Brayden Billington. They recently held their Labor Day Bash event that had to be rescheduled due to weather and he competed in three classes with great results!

  • 1/8 Electric Buggy = TQ and 4th place
  • 1/8 Electric Truggy = 1st place
  • 1/8 Nitro Truggy = TQ and 2nd place

All cars were on Bullet wheels with Blue compound Reflex tires, and his his buggies used our S15 shells.

Crossing the stateline into Missouri let’s visit Chicken Dinner Raceway in Neosho for our next update. Team driver Braxten Culley recently competed there for Round 8 of their In the Dirt Series and he double dipped in both the Expert 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes with two TQs and wins while using Blue compound Reflex tires!

His fellow JC driver Matthew Pyle was also at this recent round and he competed in the Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes. He would finish 3rd in e buggy and took the TQ and W in e truggy! Both cars used Blue compound Reflex tires, Bullet wheels and a P1 and F2 body.

Crossing the stateline again we head over to Boogs RC Track in Binger, OK for this quick report from team driver Tyler Keel. He recently competed in their Friday Night Bounty Race and picked up the TQ and win in the Outlaw Sprint class while using Green compound Dirt Webs and Ellipses plus Dirt Tech inserts!

Shooting down to Texas we meet up with team driver Brian Henn who just wrapped up competing at Round 3 of the RC Pro South event that was held at Mike’s Gulf Coast RC Raceway in Porter. He competed in the Expert 1/8 Electric Truggy and Buggy classes and finished 9th in e buggy and took the TQ and win in e truggy! His winning truggy used Blue compound Reflex tires all weekend long while his buggy used both the Blue compound Reflex and Detox tires plus A3 compound Detox tires.

Heading east let’s stop in at SHARC (Shoal’s Area RC Cars) Raceway in Tuscumbia, AL to see how the team finished up at their 13th Annual Steve Raddatz Memorial Race. Team driver Danny Smith competed in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and came home with the victory while using a S15 shell and Blue compound Subcultures!

His teammate Will Scott also competed at this event in the Mod Stadium Truck and 1/8 Electric Buggy classes. He would finish 8th overall in e buggy and take the TQ and win in truck! His e buggy used a P1 body and Aqua compound Stalkers while his truck rocked a Finnisher body, Carvers in the front and Goose Bumps in the rear.

Crossing over into Georgia let’s now check in on the team competing at Phil Hurd Raceway in Savannah for Round 2 of the 2022 GORCS (Georgia Off-Road Championship Series). Starting with team driver Patrick Rossiter Jr. he took the TQ and win in both the 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes! Both cars used Blue compound Reflex tires, plus his buggy used a S15 shell, F2I wing and his truck used a F2 truck body. Joining him on the e buggy podium in 2nd place was his tire teammate Chris VanRaemdonck!

Team driver Jason Westfall also competed at this recent round and would take the win in the Mod 2wd Buggy class while using a F2 body, Blue compound Rips up front and ReHabs in the rear!

JC driver David Olsen doubled up with two TQs and wins in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy and Truggy classes! His buggy used Silver compound ReHabs and Bullet rims, while his truggy used Blue and Aqua compound Reflexes on Bullet wheels.

Finally, let’s head south to Florida to get a few updates from the team. Starting with team driver Dustin Spallone he recently competed at Callahan Off-Road RC Raceway in Callahan for Round 1 of the Emerge Series. He would finish 2nd for the day in the Mod 2wd Buggy class while using Green compound Double Dees V2 in the rear with Green compound Sprinters up front, plus a lightweight F2 body and an Aero S-Type 7″ Rear Wing! Joining him on the podium in 1st place was his teammate Kyle Paquette!

Our final tour stop is at Beachline Raceway in Cocoa for Round 2 of their Triple Crown series. Starting with the “premiere” class it was a JConcepts podium sweep as team drivers JR Mitch (2nd), Paul Wynn (1st) and Jason Ruona (3rd) locked up the top three positions in Mod 2wd Buggy!

Team driver Tyler Hooks competed in the Expert 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes and took wins in both of them! All of the team drivers utilized Fuzz Bite tires, F2 and S2 bodies, Mono wheels and Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings.
