In this edition of the JConcepts Friday5 we talk to Minnesota team driver, James Dolan!
1. How did you first hear about racing RC cars? And what classes did you compete in?
I first heard about RC racing about eight years ago when when my dad and I went to the local hobby shop and saw a flyer on the bulletin board for one of our local tracks. My first class that I raced in was Spec Slash.
2. In your region you do quite a bit of racing on off-road carpet. So what advice do you have for off-road dirt drivers that are trying out carpet for the 1st time?
My tip for first time carpet racers is to talk to the local guys on vehicle setup and tire choice.
3. What is your biggest win to date and why?
I’d have to say my biggest win has to be a points series win at our local track The Toy Box.
4. To date what is your favorite JConcepts product of all time and why?
My favorite JConcepts product has to be the Smoothie 2 tires. They are my favorite product because I absolutely hate sanding down tires.
5. Besides RC cars, what other hobbies are you into?
When I’m not out racing I really enjoy being outside mountain biking.
