Race Team Update – October 2022 Week #1

The JConcepts race team starts the new month with more victories on tracks around the world! Check out our winning ways in this new edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report at ROCCK Racing in Knoxville, TN. Last weekend they held their 2022 Knox Vegas Opener trophy event that saw nearly 190 entries! Team driver Jonah Wilson led the charge for the team as he set the TQ and took the win in the Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy and Electric Buggy and Truggy classes! His buggies utilized our Silver compound ReHabs and S15 shells, while his truggy used Gold compound Ellipses and a F2 truck body. Joining him on the nitro buggy podium in 2nd place was JC teammate Coty Ingram!

Next, we swing down south to Helena, AL where Warehouse Hobby Raceway is located. Unfortunately, this facility held its final event with their “End OF An Era” trophy race so let’s see if the JConcepts race team went out on top. Starting with team driver Randy Enger he competed in both Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy and finished 2nd in wheeler and took the TQ and win in Mod 2wd Buggy! His buggies used S2 and P2 bodies along with Blue compound Sprinters on his 4wd car and Green compound Sprinters on his 2wd buggy.

Teammate Jerrid Wright competed in three different classes at this final event. In 1/8 Electric Buggy he would bump into the A Main and finish 8th overall while using Green compound Ellipses and a S15 body! In the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class he finished 5th after 30 minutes of racing while rolling on Green compound Detox tires and a Silencer shell! In the 2wd SCT class he finished strong in 2nd place while racing with Green compound Sprinter mounted to Hazard wheels and a HF2 lid!

JC driver Danny Smith competed in the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes at this final race. He would finish 6th overall in e buggy after a AA format and after 30 minutes of racing he finished 2nd on the podium in the nitro buggy class! He used slicked out Aqua compound Ellipses for his nitro main event.

Moving east into Georgia let’s check in with team driver Patrick Rossiter Jr. who recently competed at the SNAP HARD Racing League Double Header held at Phil Hurd Raceway in the city of Savannah. Saturday was all 1/10 electric off-road and he competed in three classes and took the TQ and win in 17.5 2wd Buggy, Vintage 2wd Buggy and 2wd SCT!

  • 2wd Buggy = Blue compound ReHabs with a F2 body
  • Vintage 2wd Buggy = Green compound Sprinters up front with Blue compound ReHabs in the rear
  • 2wd SCT = Green compound Sprinters up front with Green compound Hybrids in the rear

Sunday was for all 1/8 classes and he went out to dominate once again with two more TQs and wins!

  • Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy = Blue compound Detox tires with a S15 body, F2l wing and a Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set
  • 1/8 Electric Truggy = Blue compound Reflex tires

Moving up the coastline we now check in with team driver Josh Parrish who recently competed at the 2022 Prelude to Dixie Nationals held at Beach RC & Hobbies in Myrtle Beach, SC. He competed in the Loose Dirt Sprint Car class and would take the TQ and win!

Crossing the border into North Carolina we now head to World of R/C Parts & Thunder Alley R/C Speedway in Lucama for our next update. Team driver Dave McEwen recently competed there for the latest round of their Super 7 Series. He competed in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class and finished 7th for the day while using Green compound ReHabs and Reflex tires, a F2I wing and a Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set!

Moving further north let’s head to Pennsylvania to get a few updates from the team competing at different tracks. Starting with team driver Matt Adams he let us know that he and his son recently went to Shaffer’s Full Steam Ahead Hobby Shop in Altoona to compete at the 3rd Annual Ty Mowery Race For The Ribbon event.

He competed in three classes and took the TQ and win in all of them!

  • Mod 4wd Buggy = Green compound Sprinters mounted to Mono wheels and a Black Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set
  • Mod 2wd SCT = Green compound Double Dees V1 mounted to Hazard wheels, a Hi-Flow body and a Black Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set
  • Mod Stadium Truck = Green compound Sprinters mounted to Mono wheels and a F2 body

His son also finished 2nd in Mod Stadium Truck class using Green compound Flip Outs, Mono wheels and a F2 body!

Our next stop in the state is at Trains and Lanes Hobbies in the city of Easton. They hosted the final round of the Northeast Super Series (NESS), and team driver Aydan Manchanda reported that he took the TQ and win in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class while racing on Blue compound Reflexes mounted to Bullet wheels plus a F2I wing! He also finished 2nd overall in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class while racing on Green compound Reflexes!

His brother Dylan also competed in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class and finished 5th overall while using Green compound Reflexes! He also bumped his way from the D Main into the A and finished in 5th place for the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class while using the same tire setup!

JC driver Vin Manchanda also got some laps in this past weekend and finished 7th overall in the 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy class while competing with Green compound Reflexes!

Now we go to M40 RC Raceway in Gobles, MI and meet with team driver Kyle Munson. He visited there this past weekend for their 7th and final round of their season series which yielded around 140 entries!

He competed in the 4wd SCT and 1/8 Electric Buggy classes and would end the day 3rd overall in 4wd SCT and 2nd place in e buggy! When the season points were added up he finished in 2nd place in the 4wd SCT class and took home the season class award in e buggy! His short course truck used a HF2 body, Choppers on all four corners and Hazard rims. His buggy utilized Chasers in the front and rear for the finals.

Leaping over Lake Michigan we splash down at Dirt Heaven Hobby & Raceway in New Franken, WI. JConcepts driver Ryan Derenne recently competed there as they hosted the finals of the 2022 Clark Summer Showdown Series.

He competed in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class and finished 8th overall while racing with Green compound Triple Dees on Bullet wheels!

Moving down to Missouri we stop in at Chicken Dinner Raceway in Neosho to see how the team finished up at the final round of their points series. For the finals team driver Braxten Culley took the TQ and win in the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes, plus the class title in both for the series too! For the final round he used our Green compound Reflex tires.

His teammate Matthew Pyle also competed at the finals and finished 2nd overall in 1/8 Electric Buggy while using Blue compound Reflexes! When the season points were tallied up he would finish 2nd in e buggy and took home the series title for the 1/8 Electric Truggy class!

Now we shoot down to Texas for a few updates from the team. Starting with JConcepts driver Billy DiCorte Jr. He recently competed at Round 4 of the RC Pro Series South hosted by Oatesified Off-Road RC Raceway in San Antonio.

He competed in the 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes and finished 5th in e buggy and took the win in e truggy! His buggy used a Silencer shell, F2I wing, Bullet wheels and Blue compound Kosmos tires, while his truggy used a F2 truck body, F2I wing, Bullet wheels and Blue compound Triple Dees.

Pivoting to Mike’s Gulf Coast Raceway in Porter let’s see how team driver Brian Henn finished up at the final round of the Houston Area RC (HARC) series. He only competed in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy class for the finals and locked up the final podium spot while using Blue compound Reflex and Detox tires! When the points were calculated for the series he would lock up 5th place in this class too!

Moving out west we meet up with JConcepts driver Joseph Levin who recently competed at the Nevada State Championship held at Whip It RC Raceway and Hobbies in Reno, NV. He competed in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class and finished 2nd overall while using Smoothie 2 tires, RM2 Hard Front Inserts, Mono wheels, a Black Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set, a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 6.5″ Rear Wing and a lightweight F2 body! He also raced in the Pro 17.5 2wd Buggy class and finished in 1st place while rolling on Smoothie 2 tires, RM2 Hard Front Inserts, Mono wheels, a Black Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set, a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing and a lightweight F2 body!

Heading further west to sunny California we stop in at Roadrunners RC in Camarillo and there we find team driver Jesse Granat. He was competing there for the recent round of the FNL series and finished 2nd in the Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy class while using Green compound Stalkers!

Now let’s get some updates from our overseas team starting with Australian driver Darren Johnston. Last Sunday he traveled to Perth to compete in the final round of the King of Whiteman Series. He competed in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and placed 4th for the day and 3rd for the entire series in this class while running on Blue and R2 compound Stalkers and Reflexes for the finals!

Our final report comes to us courtesy of team driver Clément Boda. This past weekend he went to southern France to city of Toulouse to compete in the French Cup. He competed in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes and took the TQ and W in both while using F2 bodies, Mono wheels, a B6.3 Carbon Logo / Cargo Net Battery and a Black Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set!
