The month of September comes to an end, but there is no stopping the JConcepts race team as they continue to win on tracks around the globe! Read about our winning ways in this fresh edition of the Race Team Update!
We start this week’s report up at the Lake Superior RC Club in Proctor, MN. Recently team driver Joe Scaramell competed there for their annual Chill On The Hill race event that saw over 150 entries!
He competed in three classes and at the end of the event he finished 8th in 1/8 Electric Buggy, 3rd in 1/8 Nitro Truggy and 1st in 1/8 Nitro Buggy! Due to the track temps hovering from 40-60 degrees he opted to use Green compound Reflex tires on all of his vehicles.
Next, we head down to Waterloo, IL at Dream Fields Raceway for our next report. This past weekend the Trigger King RC Monster Truck Series held its finals, and we had several drivers competing in this series so let’s see how they finished up starting with team driver Doug Welker. He reports that he finished 3rd in the points for the Sport Modified class! His monster truck was decked out in Blue compound Renegade tires, Tribute wheels, a 1988 Chevy Silverado “Snoop Nose” body and a Silent Speed 17T Adjustable Timing Competition Motor.
Teammate Chris Parrish was also at the finals and took home the title in the Losi LMT class and finished 2nd and one point short of winning the Retro class too! His Equalizer replica rig finished 4th overall in Sport Mod and his Bearfoot truck made the finals in the Retro class! In the Sport Mod class his red Equalizer truck made the finals while his blue Equalizer truck made two finals in the LMT class! His Sudden Impact truck also made two finals in the Pro Mod class that day too, and all of his rides were decked out in JConcepts gear:

Also competing at the finals was team driver Jeremy Mark. In the Retro class his Taurus and Buffalo Tremor replicas made the finals for racing bracket 1 and 2 with Tremor winning both! His Tremor truck also made the semi-finals in bracket 3, and won the overall class title for the day catapulting it into 3rd place for the season points! His Taurus ride finished the day tied for 2nd place overall. Both of his trucks utilized our Regulator chassis conversion kit, Regulator Servo Mount Kit (BAS), Regulator Brass Chassis Brace Tubes, Regulator Brass Horizontal Chassis Member, Regulator Brass Chassis Stackable Weight, Gold compound Golden Years tires and Tribute rims. His Tremor runs the 1982 GMC K2500 body while his Taurus uses runs a 1988 Chevy Silverado shell.
He also competed in the Losi LMT class with a Firestone BIGFOOT replica and won racing brackets 1 and 2, plus made the semi-finals for racing bracket 3! He took home the win in this class for the finals and moved up to 3rd place in the season points! This truck used a 2010 Ford Raptor body, Blue compound Renegades tires and Tribute Wheels.
JC driver Josh Rhodes didn’t compete at the finals, but he still took home the series title in the Retro class! This is the 2nd year in a row his Bigfoot IV replica truck has won this title and he used the following JConcepts goodies in the series:
- 1989 Ford F-250 body
- Regulator chassis conversion kit
- Regulator Servo Mount Kit (BAS)
- Tribute wheels
- Gold compound Golden Years tires
His Samson truck end up 3rd in the points for the Pro Mod class and was using the following JC widgets:
- 2005 Chevy 1500 Samson body
- Blue compound Renegades tires
- Tribute wheels
And in the Freestyle class his Grave Digger truck finished 2nd overall while running the following products:
- JCI Mortician body
- Blue compound Renegades tires
- Tribute wheels
Crossing the stateline our next stop is at Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs, MO. Team driver Jeremy Cathlina competed this summer in their Slideways Saturday Series, and after 6 months of competition he took home the series title in the Open Sprint and Late Model classes! All summer long he ran a combination of Green compound ReHabs and Dirt Webs up front with Gold and Silver compound Ellipses in the rear. All tires were mounted to 9-Shot wheels, plus he also used a L8D Decked Late Model body.
Crossing over into Oklahoma we meet up with JC driver Kevin Lenderman who recently competed at Taylor Park RC Raceway in Yukon for their Fall Shootout and Street Stock 250 event. In the Late Model class he ran into some electrical gremlins in the main and finished 7th overall while using Green compound Dirt Webs and Ellipses mounted to 9-Shot wheels. In the Street stock class he would qualify 9th out of 38 entries and finish 2nd overall! For that class he used Green compound Sprinters glued to 9-Shot wheels.
Now let’s shoot down to Texas to get some updates from the team competing at various tracks. Starting with Mike’s Gulf Coast RC Raceway in Porter team driver Cody Babbitt reported he pulled off the hat trick at the finals for their All Star Dirt Oval series as he took the W in the 10.5 Sprint Car, Midwest Modified and SC Mod classes! He used Green compound Detox tires for his 10.5 Sprint and Midwest Modified cars while his SC Mod ride used Green compound Sprinters.
Also competing at the finals was his tire teammate Brian Germany, and he finished 3rd on the podium in the 10.5 Sprint Car class while using Green compound Sprinters!
Moving over to Hutto where Thornhill Racing Circuit is located we check in with team driver Billy DiCorte Jr. who recently competed at Round 7 of their Championship Series. He would finish 7th in the Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy class while using a Silencer shell, a F2I wing, Blue compound Reflex tires and Bullet wheels!
In the Expert 1/8 Electric Truggy class he took the TQ and win while running a F2 truck body, a F2I wing, Blue compound Triple Dees and Bullet rims!
Heading east now we stop in at Saratoga-Flowood RC Raceway in Magee, MS for our next race report. Team driver William Ables recently competed in their Magnolia X event in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes. He would finish up 2nd in e buggy and take the TQ and win in e truggy! In the mains his bug used Green compound Stalkers while his trug used Blue compound Reflex tires.
Veering up to Tennessee let’s check in with team driver Izriah Osborne. He recently raced at Bullet Town RC in Milan for their State Shootout 8.0 event. He competed in three different classes and took home the W in all of them plus two TQs! He used Blue compound Reflexes on his 1/8 Nitro Buggy and Truggy while on his 1/8 Electric Buggy he opted for Blue Compound Triple Dees. He also used S15 shells on his buggies, a F2 truck body on his truggy and all three rides used F2I rear wings.
Also competing at this event was his teammate Drew Williams in three different classes. Shortly before the start of the 1/8 Nitro Buggy main he had a mechanical failure which unfortunately ended his run before it could officially begin. In the 1/8 Nitro Truggy class he would lock up the final podium spot, and in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class he would take the win! He used Blue compound Triple Dees on his e truggy and nitro buggy while his nitro truggy rocked out on Green compound Reflexes.
Heading east to the coastline we now stop in at World of R/C Parts & Thunder Alley R/C Speedway in Lucama, NC. Team driver Dave McEwen recently competed there at their Friday Night Features event in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes and he finished 4th in 17.5 and took the TQ and win in 13.5! He used a variety of JConcepts gear like Green compound Octagons, Mono wheels, F2 bodies, Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings and Black Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Sets.
Also competing at this special race was his teammate Josh Parrish in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class. He would finish 2nd overall while using Silver compound Ellipses sanded to slicks, Mono wheels, a F2 lid, a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing and a Black Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set!
Heading up north we check in with team driver Eric Bresnahan who recently competed at a Friday night trophy race held at RC Madness in Enfield, CT. In the 17.5 2wd Buggy class he just finished outside of the top 10 for the night, but in the Stadium Truck class he would take home the win! His buggy used Nessi and Fuzz Bite tires glued to Mono wheels while his truck used a Finnisher body, Pin Downs and Swaggers rubber.
Now let’s get some updates from our international team starting with team driver Alberto Garcia. He recently competed at Buggyland 9.0 in Madrid, Spain and took the TQ and win in the +35 1/8 Nitro Buggy class while using A1 compound Reflex tires, Bullet wheels and a Razor wing!
Our final report comes to us courtesy of Australian driver Lachlan Munday. Last weekend he traveled to Melbourne to compete at the Coleman Cup Memorial race which is an outdoor off-road 1/10 electric event. He would finish 3rd in Mod 2wd Buggy and take the TQ and win in Mod 4wd Buggy! He used Green compound Ellipses, a S2 shell, Mono wheels and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing.
