Two weeks into November and the JConcepts race team continues to gobble up the competition out on the track. Read about our winning ways in this new edition of the Race Team Update!
We start this week’s report out in the Northeast as team driver John Cravotta recently competed at a few different tracks in that area. Last Saturday he traveled to Maximus RC Raceway in York, ME to compete in their NEIC trophy event. He raced in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes, and he finished 2nd in 17.5 and took the W in the 13.5 class! The next day he visited RC Madness in Enfield, CT to compete in their Turkey Gobbler trophy race. He competed in the same two classes and locked up the 2nd podium spot in both of them! For both events he used our Fuzz Bite tires on all four corners.
Also competing in the event at RC Madness was his tire teammate Eric Bresnahan. He also competed in two classes and finished 9th in 17.5 2wd Buggy and took the TQ and win in the Stadium Truck class! His buggy used Fuzz Bite tires in the front with Nessi tires in the rear, while his truck used Pin Downs in the rear with Swaggers up front.
Heading down into Maryland we now visit The Track in the city of Gaithersburg. Last weekend they hosted the most recent round of the USRC Championship Series and team driver Jose Zayas competed in two different classes. He would finish 2nd in both the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes while racing on Smoothie 2 tires stuffed with RM2 2.2″ Hard Inserts.
Heading up and over to New Richmond, WI we meet up with team driver Thor Ott who recently visited the The Toy Box RC Track to compete in Round 2 of their Winter Series. He raced in two different classes and finished 2nd in the 17.5 2wd class and also finished 1st in the Mod 2wd Buggy! He used S2 lids, Lockness and Swaggers rubber on both of his bugs.
Now let’s head down to Omaha, NE where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located. This past weekend they held Round 4 of their carpet series and team driver Emerson Sturgeon took the win in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class! His dad Alex took two more wins for the team in the 13.5 4wd and Mod 2wd Buggy classes! They both used Fuzz Bites on all four corners of their vehicles.
Shooting down to Garland, TX let’s see how the team finished up at Round 1 of the Indy RC World Winter Oval Series. Starting with team driver Kevin Mcnatt he let us know that he secured the TQ and win in the SC Mod class! He used Green compound Sprinters on the left, Blue compound Sprinters on the right, and they were all glued to 9-Shot wheels.
Also competing at this recent round was teammate Kevin Lenderman. He finished right behind Kevin in the SC Mod class and also locked up 2nd in the Wingless Sprint class! His SC Mod car utilized Green compound Ellipse tires glued to 9-Shot rims.
Flying out west to sunny California let’s head to the city of San Jose where Nor-Cal Hobbies is located at. This past weekend they held the 12th Annual Top Gun race and team driver Joseph Levin competed in three classes with great results!
- Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy – 2nd place while using Nessi tires in the rear, Fuzz Bites in the front, a S2 shell in the lightweight option, a B6.3 Front Wing and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 6.5″ Rear Wing
- 13.5 4wd Buggy – 1st place while using Nessi tires in the rear, Fuzz Bites in the front, a S2 shell in the lightweight option, a B6.3 Front Wing and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 6.5″ Rear Wing
- 13.5 Stadium Truck – 1st place while using Pin Downs in the rear, Swaggers up front and a Finnisher body
Veering north let’s head to the Ardella Arena in Moses Lake, WA to check out the team results at Round 2 of the Northwest Rage Tour. Starting with team driver Robert Sorjonen he competed in four different classes and it was a clean sweep as he TQed and won in all of them! His 1/8 buggies used S15 shells and Green compound ReHab tires, while his gas truck used Green compound Goose Bumps.
Also competing at this recent round was teammate Jacob Hudson in three different classes. In the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class he started 2nd on the grid for the main, but a mechanical gremlin knocked him off the pace and he would settle for 6th place. In 1/8 Nitro Truggy he set the TQ and would take the tone to tone win! In the 1/8 Electric Buggy class he also locked in the TQ and would win A1 and finish 2nd in A2 which gave him the overall title for the event! His e buggy used Green and Blue compound Reflex tires, F2I wings were used on both bugs and he also used a F2 truck body on his nitro truggy.
Now let’s get some updates from our international team starting with Australian team driver Jordan Isergin. This past weekend he competed at the final round of the Victorian Drivers Series held at Keilor in Melbourne, Australia. This series was comprised of four different events and a driver’s best three results would count towards the series championship. When the points were calculated Jordan would take home the title in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes! For the finals he used Silver compound Ellipses, F2 lids and Aero S-Type 7″ Rear Wings.
Also competing at this final round was teammate Andrew Selvaggi in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class. For the finals he would take the TQ and win while running the following gear!

JConcepts driver Lachlan Munday also attended the finals and competed in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes. After the dust had settled he would finish 3rd in Mod 2wd and 2nd in Mod 4wd for the entire series! For the series he used Ellipse tires, F2 bodies and Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings.
Staying in Australia let’s catch up with Ben Panic who was competing at a different event. He recently went south of Sydney to the Illawarra RC track to compete in the NSW state titles. He would start 4th overall in the finals but unfortunately ran into a mechanical issue and had to retire early with a DNF. But his buggy was running fast until that point on Blue compound Stalkers!
Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Clément Boda. That past weekend in France he attended the Coupe des Champions (Champions Cup) event and entered the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes. By the end he would take 1st in both classes while using F2 lids, Mono wheels and Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Sets.
