Race Team Update – November 2022 Week #3 & 4

The past two weeks the JConcepts race team keeps gobbling up the competition out on the track! Read about our winning ways in this double-stuffed Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report down in sunny Florida at Dean’s All Out RC in the city of Apopka. They recently hosted Round 6 of the Florida RC Championships which saw 190 entries! Let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver Carlos Segui. He competed in the 1/8 Electric Truggy and 40+ Buggy classes, and he would finish 3rd in e truggy and snagged a TQ and win in 40+ e buggy! His truggy ran on Blue compound Reflex tires while his bug used the same tread in the Green compound.

Also competing at this round was his teammate Patrick Rossiter Jr. in the 1/8 Electric Truggy and Pro Electric Buggy classes. He would finish 3rd for the day in Pro e buggy, and in the e truggy class he took the TQ and win! Both cars used Green compound Reflex rubber. Joining him on the e truggy podium were teammates Carlos Gonzalez (2nd) and Carlos Segui (3rd)!

JC driver Jader Lopez also competed at this round in the 1/8 Pro Nitro and Electric Buggy classes. He would wrap up the race with a solid 2nd place finish in nitro buggy, plus a TQ and win in e buggy! Both vehicles used Green compound Stalkers all weekend long.

JConcepts driver Joshua Vicidomini competed in three different classes for this round. He would finish 7th in 1/8 Electric Truggy, 4th in 1/8 Open Electric Buggy and a TQ and 2nd place finish in 1/8 Open Nitro Buggy! Both of his bugs used Black compound Reflex tires and Razor wings while his truggy used Green compound Reflex tires with a F2I wing.

Moving up the coast we now stop in at Sumter RC Raceway in Sumter, SC. Last week they held their Toys For Tots trophy race which brought in nearly 100 entries! JC driver David Olsen competed in two classes and would finish 3rd overall in the 1/8 Pro Electric Buggy class, and a TQ and win in the 1/8 Open Nitro Buggy class! His e buggy used Green compound Detox tires, a S15 shell and Razor wing. His winning nitro ride used Silver compound ReHabs, a S15 body and a Razor rear wing.

Team driver Patrick Rossiter Jr. also attended this event and took the win in the 1/8 Pro Electric Buggy class while using Blue compound Reflex tires, a Razor wing and a Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set!

Staying in South Carolina we now head east down highway 378 to Myrtle Beach where Beach RC is located at. They recently held a Turkey Lurkey Shootout event and team driver Josh Parrish competed in three classes with awesome results!

  • 17.5 2wd Buggy = TQ and 1st place using Silver compound Smoothies 2 tires, a Black Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing
  • 13.5 4wd Buggy = TQ and 1st place using Silver compound Smoothies 2 tires, a Black Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing
  • Mod Stadium Truck = TQ and 1st place using Silver compound Ellipses sanded to slicks, Mono wheels and a F2 body

Crossing the stateline we now move into North Carolina and head to the city of Lucama. There we find JC driver Rusty Mihelich and his family who all recently competed at Thunder Alley RC Speedway for their 4th Annual Turk-E trophy race. Starting with Rusty he reports that he finished 2nd overall in the 1/8 Pro Electric and Nitro Buggy classes!

Mylee Mihelich finished 4th overall in the 1/8 Open Electric Buggy class and locked up the final podium spot in the 1/8 Pro Nitro Buggy class!

Maddy Long qualified 5th in the 1/8 Pro Nitro Buggy class but had to drop out and finish 7th after some mechanical gremlins, but she bounced back in the 1/8 Pro Electric Buggy class to lock up 4th overall!

Stacey Mihelich set the TQ and finished 2nd overall in the Novice class too! All drivers used Green compound Detox tires mounted to Bullet wheels.

Our next tour stop is at Adrenaline RC Raceway in Winchester, VA. Recently they held the 3rd round of their 1/8 Fall Series and team driver Javon Mallory finished 3rd overall in the 1/8 Pro Electric Buggy class! He used Silver compound Ellipses, a F2I wing and a Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set. A week later he went back to Adrenaline to compete in Round 4 of their 1/10 Fall Series too. He competed in both the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes and finished 2nd in 13.5 wheeler, and took the TQ and win in 17.5 2wd buggy! His 4wd ride used Silver compound Ellipse tires while his 2wd car used the Green compound. Both buggies also used S2 shells, Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings and 3.5mm Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Sets.

Javon wasn’t done racing since he also competed at a 3rd event. This time he went to the The Track in Gaithersburg, MD for their Mid-Atlantic Fall Championship that saw 130 entries! He competed in the same 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes again, and would go on to finish 11th in the 13.5 class and 5th overall in 17.5 buggy! Both cars used Silver compound Smoothie 2 tires, 10th Scale Buggy Tire Inner Sidewall Support Adaptors, RM2 2.2″ Hard Inserts, Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings and 3.5mm Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Sets.

Also competing at the race at this race was his tire teammate Enzo Albertoni. He competed in three different classes and would TQ and win in all of them!

  • Mod 2wd Buggy = TQ and win while racing on Silver compound Smoothie 2 tires, RM2 2.2″ Hard Inserts, Mono wheels, F2 body and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing
  • Mod 4wd Buggy = TQ and win while racing on Silver compound Smoothie 2 tires, RM2 2.2″ Hard Inserts, Mono wheels and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 6.5″ Rear Wing
  • 13.5 Stadium Truck = TQ and win while racing on Silver compound Ellipse tires sanded to slicks, Mono wheels and a Finnisher truck body

Continuing north we now visit RC Excitement in Fitchburg, MA for our next report. Team driver Michael Fredericks recently traveled to this track to compete in their 18th Annual Gobbler trophy race that saw over 100 entries! He would finished the event with a W in 40+ 13.5 4wd Buggy, plus a TQ and W in 17.5 2wd Buggy! His wheeler was running fast on Silver compound Smoothie 2 tires, Mono wheels and a F2 lid, while his 2wd buggy used Black compound Ellipses sanded to slicks for the rear with sanded down Green compound Ellipses in the front. Both tires were mounted to Mono wheels and he also utilized a F2 body.

Now we fly back west and land in Grandville, MI where Grand River RC is located at. Recently team driver Kyle Munson raced there for their Gobble Off-Road trophy event in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class. He would finish 2nd for the day while using Silver compound Ellipses sanded to slicks, 10th Scale Buggy Tire Inner Sidewall Support Adaptors in the front and a F2 body.

Bouncing down to Indiana we dribble up to Bill’s RC Hobby Shop in the city of Marion. They recently held their Gobbler Shootout event so let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver David Perez. He competed in the 2wd Short Course Truck class and would take the victory while running fast on Silver compound Ellipses plus an Illuzion Hi-Flow body!

JC driver Adam Rayls competed in the Expert 17.5 2wd and Vintage Buggy classes and would TQ and win in both! Aiding him in his wins were a F2 and Team Associated RC10B2 Authentic Body, Mono wheels, Silver compound Smoothie 2 and Ellipse tires and a 3.5mm Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set.

Four days later they held another event called the Pie Race. Team driver Justin Green competed in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class, and he would finish 3rd overall while using the following JC widgets!

Staying in the state we make a fast break to the city of Granger where RC Fun Park is located. Recently they held their Midwest Gobbler Shootout event and team driver Chris Rothwell let us know that he finished 4th in 13.5 4wd Buggy and 2nd place in 17.5 2wd Buggy! He used the following JConcepts equipment on his rides:

Joining him on the podium in 1st place was teammate Tyler Swift!

Crossing over into the “Land of Lincoln” we meet up with JC driver Chris Parrish. Not too long ago he went to compete in the 2nd Annual HBR (Hall Brothers Racing) Classic in Champaign that saw over 100 monster trucks competing in four racing classes, plus a freestyle competition! He would make it to six out of the possible eight semi final rounds in bracket style racing across the four different classes, and he would bring home the overall wins in the Retro Monster Truck class with his replica Bearfoot Racer and the ProMod Monster Truck class with his replica Bigfoot! His winning mini monsters used the following JC goods:

  • Bearfoot Racer = Regulator chassis conversion kit, Regulator Servo Mount Kit (BAS), 18mm Aluminum 25T Clamping Servo Horn, a 1988 Chevy Silverado Monster Truck Body and Golden Year tires mounted to Tribute wheels
  • Bigfoot = Renegades tires glued to Tribute wheels plus a 2008 Ford F-150 Supercab body

Our next update is provided to us courtesy of team driver Ryan Derenne. On Thanksgiving eve he competed at the 2022 Pie Race held at Dirt Heaven Hobby and Raceway in New Franken, WI which saw nearly 100 entries! He raced in two different classes and would finish 6th in 40+ Super Stock Buggy and 5th in Mod Stadium Truck! His buggy used Silver compound Ellipses, a P2 body and an Aero S-Type 7″ Rear Wing. His truck also used the same Ellipse setup plus a Finnisher lid.

Moving into Iowa we head to Sioux City where Bad Fast Hobbies is located. Team driver David Peavler raced at their recent Turkey Shootout trophy race that fielded nearly 100 entries!

After the racing had completed for the weekend he would finish 4th in Mod 2wd Buggy, 3rd in Mod 4wd Buggy and a TQ and 2nd place finish in 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy! All of his cars used Fuzz Bites on all four corners along with Mono wheels, a B6.3|B6.4 Servo Mount Brace, Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings and JConcepts Precut Chassis Protective Sheets.

Also attending this race was team driver Mike Sanders. He would finish in 6th place in 17.5 2wd Buggy and took the W in 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy! Both bugs used Fuzz Bites all the way around plus Mono rims and S2 shells.

Now let’s head over to Omaha, NE where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located.

They recently held another round of their Carpet Off-Road series and team driver Chance Rohlk reports that he locked up the final podium spot in both the Mod 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes! Both cars used Fuzz Bite tires, F2 bodies and Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings.

JC pilot David Peavler also made his way to this recent round and finished 5th in Mod 2wd Buggy, 4th in 13.5 4wd Buggy and 3rd place in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy! Once again he used Fuzz Bites on all four corners along with Mono wheels, a B6.3|B6.4 Servo Mount Brace, Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings and JConcepts Precut Chassis Protective Sheets.

His tire teammate Mike Sanders also attended this most recent round and finished 6th in 13.5 4wd Buggy and just missed the final podium spot in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class! Both of his vehicles used Fuzz Bites all the way around plus Mono rims and S2 shells.

Heading south we now make our way to GS Hobby in Barling, AR for our next team report. Our driver Kyle Wilson recently visited this facility to compete in their 2022 Turkey Trot event that saw over 100 entries! He would finish 3rd overall in the Mod 2wd Buggy class while using a plethora of products!

  • S2 body in the lightweight option

Joining him on the Mod 2wd Buggy podium in 1st place was teammate Braxten Culley!

Staying in Arkansas let’s head to the city of Jonesboro where FORC Raceway is located at. Recently they held their Winter Kickoff race and team driver Calvin Bruce was in attendance.

He competed in three separate classes and would finish 2nd in Mod 4wd Buggy and double downed in the 13.5 4wd and Mod 2wd Buggy classes with two TQs and wins!

His son Braden and would also walk away with two TQs and wins in the Mod 4wd and Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy classes, and both drivers used Silver compound Smoothie 2 tires, F2 shells and RM2 2.2″ Hard 2wd | 4wd Front Inserts!

Shooting south into Texas let’s get a few updates from the team competing at different events. Starting with team driver Mikey Chiudioni he recently went to Raceparty RC Track in El Paso to compete in their Toys For Tots / Turkey Trot trophy event. Mikey would take the TQ and win in the 1/8 Expert Electric Buggy class!

His son Mikey Jr. would also take the TQ and W in the 1/8 Intermediate Electric Buggy class too! Both drivers used Silencer shells, and Mikey Sr. used Blue compound Reflex tires while junior used Green compound Komos rubber.

JC driver Billy DiCorte Jr. recently visited Thornhill Racing Circuit in Hutto for the finals of the RC Pro South series. After the series points were calculated he would take 3rd overall in 1/8 Expert Electric Truggy and 1st place in 1/8 open Electric Buggy!

His e truggy used Green compound Reflex tires, Bullet rims, a F2 truck body and a F2I wing. His e buggy used the same tire and wheel combo along with a F2I wing and Silencer lid.

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Cole Chura. Not to long ago he competed at PDX RC Underground in Portland, OR for Round 1 of their Interstate Series which saw over 140 entries! He raced in both the Expert 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes and finished 4th in 2wd and took the TQ and win in the 13.5 class! His winning wheeler used Fuzz Bites on all four corners while his 2wd used Fuzz Bites up front with Nessi tires in the rear.
