Race Team Update – December 2022 Week #4

A new year is upon us, but on the track it is the same old results as the JConcepts team continues to put down laps on the competition! Reading about our winning ways in this week’s Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report over at Thunder Alley RC Speedway in Lucama, NC. Over the holiday break they held their Beast of the East warm-up race which saw over 100 entries! Let’s see how the team finished up starting with JC driver Josh Parrish. He reported that he finished 4th in Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy and took the TQ and win in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class!

Team driver Ken Rand Jr. also competed at this event and finished 2nd in Mod 4wd Buggy and set the TQ and grabbed another 2nd place finish in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy class! Joining him on the mod wheeler podium in 1st place was his tire teammate Jake Stikeleather!

JC driver Luis Diego competed in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class and took the TQ and win!

JC pilot Dave McEwen competed in three classes at this event. He would finish 3rd in the Mini Truggy class, 2nd in the 13.5 wheeler class and set the TQ and finished 3rd in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

JConcepts driver Rusty Mihelich brought out the entire family to compete at this race. He raced in two classes and finished 7th in Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy and 3rd in Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy! Maddy Long would finish 6th in the A Main for Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy and 5th in Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy! Mylee Mihelich just missed out on the bump spot to make the A Main for Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy, and in the Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy she narrowly missed out on that bump spot too why running fast! Stacey Mihelich finished in 6th place for the Sportsman 1/8 Electric Buggy class, and it was another strong showing by the team!

Next, let’s head out to Dean’s All Out RC in Apopka, FL for our next report. They also recently held a warm-up event for the upcoming Purge series so let’s see how the team did starting with team driver Tyler Hooks. He reported that he competed in the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes and would finish 2nd in the nitro class and took 1st in e buggy! Fellow team driver Julian Oliveras would take the win in the nitro class!

Staying in Florida we get our next update from team driver Nolan Manchester. He recently competed at SS Hobbies & Raceway in Tampa at a recent club race and would double up with wins in both the 1/8 Electric Buggy and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes!

Next, we shoot over to Texas for a few updates from the team competing at different tracks. Starting with Mike’s Gulf Coast RC Raceway in the city of Porter, team driver Dillon Caldwell let us know that at a recent Friday night race he would set the TQ and took the win in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Heading to Hutto where Thornhill Racing Circuit is located we meet up with team driver Jared Wiggins. He raced there recently for a New Year’s club race and took 1st overall in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Moving forward to Forth Worth we get our next update from team driver Rhett McNair. A little while back he went to RCCA (RC Car Club of America) for some on-road action and took the win in the A Main after bumping out of the B!

Kicking it over to Kansas let’s head to RC Pitstop and Raceway in the city of Newton. They recently held a club event and team driver Mason Herrick set the TQ and took the win in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Fellow JConcepts pilot Ken Peterson also raced in this class and finished in 2nd place!

Moving east to Missouri let’s catch up with team driver Jeremy Cathlina for our next update. For New Year’s Eve he went racing at I-44 Winter RC Shootout held at the Cowan Civic center in Lebanon, MO.

He competed in three classes and finished 6th in Open Street Stock, 5th in Late Model and 4th place in 410 Sprint!

Our next stop is at Island Speedway in Muscatine, IA. Team driver David Peavler went to this facility over the holiday break to compete in their Going Bananas For 2023 trophy event.

He would finish 5th in the Mod 2wd Buggy class, 3rd in the Expert 17.5 2wd class and 2nd in 13.5 4wd Buggy! His son Jayme would TQ and win in the Novice class and his daughter Jana would set the TQ and take the win in the Intermediate 21.5 2wd Buggy class!

Moving up to Minnesota let’s see how the team finished up at a few different race events. Starting with JC driver Thor Ott he competed at the recent December Trophy event held at Thunder Road RC Raceway in Waite Park which saw 147 entries! He qualified 3rd overall in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class and had a little bad luck with traffic and would settle for 5th place. He was running fast for the entire event while using the following gear!

Team driver Joe Scaramell made it out to 510 Raceway in the city of Foley for their Thursday Night Throwdown event and would set the TQ and finish first in the 17.5 2wd Buggy Slick Tire class! He also competed in the treaded 17.5 2wd buggy class and locked up 2nd place too!

Crossing the stateline to the east let’s go to Wisconsin to see how the team finished up at some recent events. Starting with team driver Randy Enger he recently raced at the Toy Box RC Track in New Richmond and finished 3rd in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

JConcepts driver Richie Peters went to the city of New Franken last Saturday to race at Dirt Heaven Hobby & Raceway. He competed in the Mod 2wd and 17.5 2wd Buggy classes and finished 2nd in mod buggy, plus took the TQ and W in the 17.5 class!

Leaping over Lake Michigan we splash down at RC ONE Racing in Township, MI for our next update from team driver Jeff Todd. On Sunday he competed on their carpet surface for a New Year’s Day club event in the 13.5 Stadium Truck class and just missed the bump spot into the A while running on the following gear!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Justin Green. He traveled to Bill’s RC Hobby Shop in Marion, IN to compete at a holiday club race in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class. He would take the win in the A main while using the following products!
