In all forms of RC surface racing camber is crucial. Having a quick and portable way to check camber was the name of the game for the JConcepts development crew when the original camber gauge came out. Something precise enough for top level racers, but still portable enough to fit in your tool box with ease.
Currently JConcepts offers two options for checking camber, the original gauge in blue and black (2283) for 1/10th scale and smaller applications, and the RM2 camber gauge in red (8128) for everything all the way up through 1/8th scale buggies and truggies. The thumb screw allows you to lock the tool at a specific setting to adjust your car to that particular measurement, or can be left loose to see what camber each tire of your car is at, at that time.
While having the ability to check for positive camber is rarely necessary, for our friends in dirt oval, all of the JConcepts camber gauges are adjustable from +10 degrees to -10 degrees allowing for ultimate adjustability.
If you aren’t willing to throw the JConcepts camber gauges in with the rest of your tools, they do come in nice reusable plastic cases with foam padding to keep everything safe. Finally to get the most accurate reading from any of the gauges, a pit board is always a nice addition for a guaranteed flat surface. Check out the ultra trick Carbon and Aluminum Setting Board (2103) for the ultimate in trick pit accessories.
