Race Team Update – February 2023 Week #2

Two weeks into the new month and the JConcepts race team stays hot out on the RC tracks around the globe which you can read about for yourself in this week’s Race Team Update!

We start this week’s race report down under in Australia. The team was putting in work at the opening round of the Victorian Drivers Series that took place in Keilor, Melbourne, and the event was hosted by the Keilor Electric Off-Road Car Association club. We had our team in attendance so let’s see how they finished starting with team driver Lachlan Munday.

He raced in Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy and would lock up 2nd place in both classes!

His teammate Jordan Isergin also competed in these same classes and set the TQ and captured the win in both!

Also competing at this event was JC driver Andrew Selvaggi. He also competed in the Mod 2wd Buggy class and would start 2nd on the grid and wrapped up the event in 5th place after the AAA mains!

Now we head to Mexico for this next update from JConcepts driver Dillon Caldwell. He visited the city of Monterey to compete in the Cabrito Challenge in two classes. After the event had wrapped up he would finish 4th in 1/8 Nitro Buggy and 2nd overall in 1/8 Electric Buggy!

Crossing the border into Texas let’s get a few updates from the team competing at various events. Starting with team driver Billy DiCorte Jr. he recently visited Thornhill Racing Circuit in the city of Hutto to compete in Round 2 of their Championship Series.

He competed in three classes and he finished 8th in Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy, 5th in Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy and he also took the TQ and W in the 1/8 Electric Truck class!

Now we move to Indy RC World in the city of Garland for our next Texas tour stop. They recently held Round 4 of their Winter Oval Series and team driver Kevin Mcnatt competed in the SC Mod class where he would lock up the TQ spot and 2nd place!

Also turning left hand laps for the team was JC driver Jordan Hefler. He competed in the SC Mod and Latemodel classes would come away with a win in both of them!

Heading to the “Show Me State” we stop in at SmacTrac located in St. Charles. This past weekend they held their Winer Indoor Challenge which saw nearly 200 entries!

Team driver Wesley Gifford competed in this race in three different classes. He would finish 9th in Mod wheeler, 4th in 13.5 wheeler and took the win in the Mod 2wd Buggy class! Joining him on the Mod 2wd Buggy podium was his tire teammate Tyler Jones in 2nd place!

Also racing at this event was his tire teammate Richie Peters in three classes as well. At the end of the race he would finish 8th in 13.5 4wd Buggy, 4th in Mod 2wd Buggy and 3rd in 17.5 2wd Buggy!

Crossing the Mississippi River back into Nebraska we head to Omaha where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located. This past weekend they held another round of their 1/8 Winter Series which saw 241 entries! Competing there for the team was team driver Mason Herrick in the Expert 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes. He would finish the round by locking up 6th place in nitro and 3rd overall in e buggy!

Team driver Drew Rubenking competed in the same two classes and after a DNF in the main he finished 10th in e buggy, but bounced back in the nitro class to finish in 5th!

JConcepts driver Bradley Peterson also competed in the Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy class too. After some rough qualifying he was able to bump into the A Main and wrapped up 7th place overall!

Heading north we now stop in at Dirt Heaven Hobby & Raceway in New Franken, WI to get this report from team driver Ryan Derenne. He raced there for their recent 2023 Buggy Champs event in two different classes.

He would finish 6th overall in the 40+ Super Stock Buggy class and 7th place in the Mod Stadium Truck class!

Flying out east let’s land in at RC Madness in Enfield, CT for our next report. Team driver Eric Bresnahan raced there not to long ago for their February Freeze trophy race and competed in the 17.5 2wd Buggy and Mod Stadium Truck classes. He would finish 7th in buggy and 2nd place in truck!

Heading down to Maryland let’s head to The Track in the city of Gaithersburg. This track recently hosted the ROAR Region 2 Championship so let’s see how the team performed starting with JC driver Jose Zayas. He let us know that he finished the event with a 4th place finish in 13.5 4wd Buggy, 2nd place finish in 17.5 2wd Buggy and a TQ and win in 13.5 Stadium Truck!

Also competing there was team driver Enzo Albertoni in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes. He would double down in both classes for the weekend with two TQs and wins!

Finally, let’s head down to Beachline Raceway in Cocoa, FL to see how the team finished up at Round 2 of their Carpet Wars series. Team driver Brett Kingsbury competed in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class and would walk away with the win!

He also competed in the Mod 2wd Buggy class and would finish in 2nd place! He fellow team driver Julien Oliveras would set the TQ and take the win!
