Race Team Update – February 2023 Week #3

The JConcepts race team puts in another good week of race results as they continue to dominate out on the track. Check out our winning ways in this week’s Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out at Sumter RC Raceway in Sumter, SC. This past weekend they held their Race For The Crazies event which saw over 100 entries. Team driver Ennis Graves was in attendance and he competed in the Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and finished a solid 13th place overall!

His teammate David Olsen was also at this event and competed in both the Pro 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes. He would finish 3rd in the nitro class and in e buggy he set the TQ and took the win!

Heading west we stop in at OnTrack Raceway in Theodore, AL for our next report. They just finished up hosting Round 2 of the SNAP HARD Racing League and competing there for the team was JC pilot Jason Westfall.

He raced in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes and finished 3rd in mod 2wd and 1st place in mod wheeler!

His tire teammate Danny Smith competed in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class as well. He would qualify 3rd for the A Main and finish in that position too!

Heading north we stop in at the “Land Of Lincoln” for this quick report by team driver Brayden Billington. This past weekend he went to RJD Hobbies in the city of Lincoln for their Land Of Lincoln Shootout race. He signed up for three classes and set the TQ and took home the win in 17.5 2wd Buggy, Mini Truggy and Mod 4wd Buggy!

Making a left over the Mississippi River we head to Crash’n Bash Hobbies in Cedar Rapids, IA for our next report. Team driver Mike Sanders was there to compete in their inaugural carpet off-road race in the Mod and 17.2 2wd Buggy classes. He would TQ both classes and finish 3rd in mod and 1st place in 17.5!

Heading north on I-35 we pull up to Thunder Road RC Raceway in Waite Park, MN for our next race report. This past weekend they held their monthly trophy event that brought out 139 entries. Team driver Joe Zaier Jr. competed in three classes and would finish 10th in 17.5 2wd Buggy, 8th in Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy and took the TQ and W in the Mini Truggy class!

His teammate Thor Ott competed in the 13.5 Stadium Truck class and finished 2nd! Joining him on the podium were teammates Kyle Holmberg in 1st and Austin Jacobson in 3rd to complete the JConcepts podium sweep!

Team driver Brayden Nelson raced in the Expert 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes, and would finish 2nd in 17.5 and in 1st place in the 13.5 4wd class!

Next, we head down to Omaha where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located. This past weekend was the final round of their Triple Scoop series and team driver David Peavler let us know that he finished 3rd in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy and 2nd overall in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class!

Kicking it south into Kansas we stop in at RC Pitstop and Raceway in the city of Newton to see how the team finished up in their inaugural Winter Carpet Classic which saw 146 entries! Starting with team driver Mason Herrick he would set the TQ and take the win in the Mod 2wd Buggy class!

His teammate Ken Peterson joined him on the podium in 5th place, plus he finished 3rd in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy and set the TQ and finished 3nd in 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy!

Team driver Alex Sturgeon also raced in the 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy class, and he would edge out Ken in the finals to take win that weekend!

Migrating even further south we find ourselves in Oklahoma City, OK where MOJO Hobby is located. This past weekend they held their Ice Breaker race which saw 138 entries!

Team driver Jordan Hefler competed in the Latemodel, Midwest Mod and SC Mod classes. He would finish 3rd in Midwest Mod, 2nd in SC Mod took the win in the Latemodel class!

JC driver Randy Lathrop reported that he finished 2nd in the Outlaw class and secured the win in the Midwest Modified!

Team driver Brian Stanton was also in attendance and competed in two classes. When the dust had settled he would finish 7th in the Sprint class and 6th place in Latemodel!

JConcepts driver Heath Lawson also raced in the Midwest Mod class and would finish in 7th place!

His tire teammate David Alford signed up for the Midwest Mod and Wingless Sprint classes, and he would finish 6th in Midwest Mod and 4th place in the Wingless Sprint class!

Shooting down to Texas let’s stop in at Mike’s Gulf Coast RC Raceway in city of Porter to see how the team finished up at Round 1 of their All Star Dirt Oval series. Beginning with team driver Brian Germany he let us know that he raced in the 10.5 Sprint car class and locked up the 2nd place spot on the podium!

His teammate Cody Babbitt signed up for the Midwest Mod, SC Mod and Outlaw Latemodel classes, and he would TQ and win in all three of them!

Flying out west to sunny Bakersfield, CA let’s check in with team driver Rob Moots. This past weekend he went to Rain-Man’s Raceway to compete in their Winter Champs oval event, and he would finish 9th in the Mod Sprint class and 3rd overall in the 13.5 Rubber Tire Sprint class!

Now let’s catch up with out international team to see how they performed last week. Team driver Clément Boda recently went to the city of Lyon in France to compete in a warm-up event for the opening round of the French Championship. He would finish the day with a 2nd place award in Mod 4wd, and he also took home the TQ and W in the Mod 2wd Buggy class!

Heading down under let’s check in with our Australian team to see how they finished up at a few different events. Starting with team driver Ben Panic he reports that recently he went to Southern Australia to compete in the SA RC Grand Prix. At the conclusion of the 45 minute A Main he would cross the finish line in 6th place!

His teammate Aaron Dexter was also at this race and he competed in both the 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes. He would finish 3rd in e buggy and 2nd overall in the nitro class!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Lachlan Donnelly. This past weekend he raced at Round 1 of the CHRL at Hills Off-road in Sydney, and would take the double TQ and win in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes!
