Hardison Doubles at the 2023 Motorama + Tire Guide

The JConcepts Team headed out to the 2023 Motorama in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania! An event that truly encompasses all things motorsports, there is plenty to do throughout the whole weekend in between heats! From Full-size cars to battle bots, they have it all! There were several stand-out performances throughout the weekend, especially in the expert classes between JConcepts drivers: Jacob Hardison, Ethan Mackanick, and Donnie Ward Jr. In the intermediate classes, we saw a privateer racer Joseph Spiggle win both Intermediate classes on JConcepts Tires! Sonny Santucci, who you may recognize from our Monster Truck team also races off-road and took a pair of seconds for the weekend also!

For Tires, the go-to was the Reflex and Relapse tires both in the green compound. Ultimately, drivers chose to run the relapse in the triple A-main events. Hardison said the tire choice was simple. It mostly came down to gluing the foam and how much sauce to use for each run.

The expert qualifying was close with numerous fast drivers in the mix along with a few stand-out performances. Ultimately, it came down to tenths of a second between the top three drivers. Hardison was able to take three rounds of  E-Buggy and E-Truck boiled down to a three-way tie between Hardison, Ward, and Mackanick. Round four of qualifying would be the determining factor, and Hardison took the TQ. When it came time for the mains, Hardison was able to stay out in front during the first two E-Truck mains. The final lap was a tight battle with Mackanick surging behind Hardison. Hardison held on and took an early overall win. E-Buggy was a different story. Hardison took the win in A1, but he had a few mistakes that dropped him back to 4th. Ethan Mackanick was there to capitalize and took the 2nd in A2 and Greg Harmer took the win. In A3,  Greg made an early pass for the lead, and Ethan Mackanick was hanging on in 2nd. Greg made a mistake and Ethan took the lead with Hardison following closely behind. Hardison was surging behind him,  but it wasn’t quite enough to take the win in A3. Ethan Mackanick had an awesome run and took the win! It came down to a tiebreaker with Hardison and Mackanick both having a 1 and 2. Hardison took the overall E-Buggy win by 6-tenths of a second!
