Race Team Update – March 2023 Week #3

The JConcepts race team continues their track momentum in the month of March. Read about our winning ways in this fresh edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out at Rain-Man’s Hobby and Raceway in Bakersfield, CA. This track was host to the opening round of the 2023 JBRL Electric Series which saw 265 entries! Team driver Joseph Levin competed in two classes, and he finished 5th in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy and 2nd in Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy!

His tire teammate Jeff Guest would set the TQ in the 40+ 13.5 2wd Buggy class and finish in 2nd place!

Team products used:

Shooting over to Texas we stop in at Thompson RC Raceway in the city of Justin. This track just finished up hosting Round 2 of RC Pro Oval Series which saw over 130 entries! Let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver Kevin Mcnatt.

He let us know that he competed in the SC Mod class and would qualify and finish 3rd overall!

Team drivers Randy and Jen Lathrop also traveled to this event to race in the Outlaw Sprint class. Jen would finish 3rd overall while Randy set the TQ and took the W!

JC driver Kevin Lenderman raced in two classes and finished 4th in Wingless Sprint and set the TQ and finished 2nd in SC Mod!

JConcepts driver Noel Cerda would take the win in the SC Mod class and he also set the TQ and took the win in the Late Model class!

Heading north we stop in at Omaha where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located. This past weekend was the final round of their 1/8 Winter Series which saw 215 entries! Team driver Chad Rubenking finished up the series with a 8th place finish in Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy, and he also finished 6th overall in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class!

Team driver Mason Herrick would finish 2nd overall in both the Expert 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes! Joining him on the nitro buggy podium were teammates Mason Fuller (1st) and Drew Rubenking (3rd) for the JConcepts podium sweep! Mason would also finish 1st in the Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy class and Drew also locked up 3rd place in this class too!

Team driver Bradley Peterson competed in the Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy class for this series and after the points were added up he finished in 5th place!

His tire teammate Brandon Kearney competed in three classes for this winter series. He would finish 6th in Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy, 3rd in 1/8 Electric Truggy, and 1st overall in the 1/8 Nitro Truggy class!

Now we make a diagonal to Dirt Heaven Hobby and Raceway in New Franken, WI for our next update.

 

This past weekend they held their 2023 Smack Talk Showdown event which saw over 100 entries as drivers competed for the title belts!

Throwing it down at this event for the team was JC driver Ryan Derenne. He would finish 6th in the 40+ Super Stock Buggy class and just miss the transfer spot in the Mod Truck class!

Team driver Andy Krivitz competed in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class and took the win in the A Main!

His teammate Richie Peters competed in three classes, and he would finish 3rd in Mod 2wd Buggy, set the TQ and finished 2nd overall in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class, and he also set the TQ and took the win in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Crossing the border we head to the “Land Of Lincoln” for our next update. Team driver Brayden Billington went to RJD Hobbies this past weekend to race in their 2023 Shamrock Showdown event in three different classes. When the dust had settled he would take the wins in the Mod 4wd Buggy and Mini Truggy classes and capture 2nd place in 17.5 2wd Buggy!

Bouncing over to “The Hoosier State” we stop in at RC Fun Park in the town of Granger for our next report. Team driver Kyle Munson went there over the weekend to compete in their trophy event in two different classes. In the Mod 2wd Buggy class he would lock up the final podium spot, and in the Mod SCT class he would set the TQ and take the win!

Heading to the coastline we stop in at Thunder Alley RC Speedway located in Lucama, NC. Team driver Dave McEwen raced there this past weekend for Round 6 of their Super 7 Series in three different classes. He signed up for the 17.5 and Mod 2wd Buggy classes along with Mod 4wd Buggy. At the end of they day he would set the TQ in the 17.5 and Mod 2wd classes and finished 1st in all of them!

Heading north we now stop in at The Track in Gaithersburg, MD for our next report. This track just finished hosting the Round 2 of the ROAR Region 2 Championship Series and team driver Jose Zayas was in attendance. He entered in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes along with 13.5 Stadium Truck. He would go on to set the TQ in all three, plus he finished 2nd in 17.5 2wd and took the wins in the 13.5 4wd buggy and truck classes!

JC driver Brian Miskolczi and his son Layton also competed in this event. Layton finished 5th overall in the Mod 4wd Buggy class, while Brian took the TQ and wins in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes!

Heading further to the Northeast we stop in at RC Madness in Enfield, CT. This past weekend they hosted the Mini Nationals which saw nearly 200 entries!

Team driver Andrew Bishop competed in the 1/16 Mod 2wd Buggy class and he set the TQ and took the win!

Fellow JConcepts driver Tom Bishop also signed up this class and he would finish just behind Andrew in 2nd place!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of Australian team driver Jordan Isergin.

He just wrapped up competing at the Victorian State Championships, and he let us know that he set the TQ and took the win in the Mod 2wd Buggy class, plus a 2nd place finish in the Mod 4wd Buggy class!
