The opening quarter of 2023 has been a busy one for JConcepts. Not only have we been celebrating our 20th Anniversary, but we also continued to release exciting new products for different segments of the RC community. To get caught up on everything we have released so far, please read this fresh Winter Edition of the JConcepts Product Rewind!
2023 “20th Anniversary” Apparel
Our first official releases of the year were our new “20th Anniversary” Apparel line. All of these products feature a special 20th Anniversary logo and artwork to celebrate this special occasion. The “arrow up” holding shape of the new logo design points in both directions while centering off on the 20th lettering and JConcepts logo. The strong colors surround the design while the border keeps things tidy and help make an anniversary statement from 2003 to 2023. There are several apparel options to choose from in this product line so let’s take a quick look at them starting with the “20th Anniversary” 2023 T-Shirt.
“20th Anniversary” 2023 T-Shirt
This shirt is black in color and made from 100% cotton material. The shirt features our 20th Anniversary logo on both sides, and it is available in a large youth size, plus adult sizes ranging from S to XXXL.
“20th Anniversary” 2023 Pull-Over Sweatshirt
We also released a sweatshirt that features this special 20th graphic on the front and back. The sweatshirt is made from 50/50 materials, is black in color and sizes range from adult M to XXXL.
Each year we like to release a new hat, and this year is no different as we offer five different options. All of our baseball hats feature our 20th Anniversary leather patchwork logo up front, and a “trucker style” mesh, snap-back design in the rear.
Two of these hats feature a flat bill look and are available in all black, or a gray and black pattern.
The other two hats use a more traditional round bill and one hat is all black while the other is a mix of white and gray.
“20th Anniversary” 2023 Beanie Hat
In case you need something warmer for your dome, then we had that covered too with our new Beanie Hat. This beanie is all black with a JC leather etched logo in the front, and is made from black, durable material, plus it uses a low-profile fit and finish.
We followed that up with some new Body Shell Masking Tape options. Our new masking tapes are available in two different widths. One roll is 24mm x 18m in size while the other has a dimension of 12mm x 50m.
The narrower, 12mm x 50m length roll is great for performing detail work to help you mockup a design on the inside of a body shell of choice. The wider, 24mm x 18m roll is good for masking off larger areas or to quickly cover more space. This gives any RC painter more flexibility when trying to create their next masterpiece.
Both rolls use an easy to identify orange color, and we recommend that you always store these in a cool, clean environment to make sure you can maximize the shelf life, plus prolong the life of the tape’s adhesion properties.
Dirt-Tech Hard Inserts For Smoothie 2 LP 2.2″ Stadium Truck Tires
As more off-road tracks move to high grip, dirt surfaces, Stadium Truck racers needed another weapon in their arsenal when it comes to tuning their trucks. The new Dirt-Tech Hard Inserts were specially designed for our Smoothie 2 LP 2.2″ Stadium Truck Tires, and they can be used as a tuning aid for drivers that need more stiffness in their foams. The inside of the Dirt-Tech Hard Inserts feature horizontal channels cut in a 360 pattern to soak up the large impacts.
These also help to create forward bite and increase acceleration, and due to their low profile (LP) design they mount up nicely into our Smoothie 2 LP 2.2″ Stadium Truck Tires. The inserts are black in color for easy identification and sold in pairs of two.
Titanium Screw Sets For The B6.4 & B6.4D
Next, we released our much anticipated Titanium Screw Sets for the Team Associated B6.4 and B6.4D. We offer these new screw sets in an upper and lower option. Each set is available in burnt blue and stealth black anodizing, and they are crafted from fine titanium materials.
Our upper set features a JConcepts top hat design with silver highlighting throughout the screw. This set includes 70 pieces in total, and it contains many top hat screws in various sizes as well as anodized flat head screws which are used in several areas throughout the upper side of the build.
We have also included special M2x3mm FHCS screws included for the radio plate, and to help you install them properly the items are separated in bags and labeled for each area on the vehicle along with including the size of each screw. For installation tips please refer to the product page on our website.
The lower set includes 26 pieces in total, and it contains many flat head screws in various sizes which are used in several areas throughout the lower side of the build.
The screws use a 3mm thread base for versatility, and these are also separated in bags and labeled for each area on the vehicle to help you determine the lengths when installing them.
S2 Clear Body For The Schumacher Cat L1R
We followed that up with a fresh body for the Schumacher Cat L1R 4wd off-road buggy. The new S2 (Silencer 2) shell is available clear in both our standard and lightweight options, and each version includes two Carpet | Turf | Dirt rear wings.
Design features include an aggressive, progressive cab design, usable side-pod vents to help cool your critical electronics and a channeled roof with center stabilizer.
Each body also comes with a decal sheet, window masks and an overspray film.
Landmines & Tusk Tires + Pre-Mounts For The Axial SCX6
JConcepts now offers our popular Landmines and Tusk tires for the Axial Adventure SCX6 Trail Honcho.
Starting with the Landmines these tires are available in our Super Soft Green compound and sold in pairs. This tire was inspired by the full scale version and its tread pattern features a robust carcass and split-block design. The Landmines have alternating solid and cavity pads which is ideal for transitioning from smooth dirt or pavement into dirt, mud, and rocky terrain.
The overall height of these tires are 147mm (5.78”) without inserts, and each tire is stuffed with medium, open cell inserts. You can also pick these up in a pre-mounted option.
The pre-mounts are also sold in pairs of two and use our proven Super Soft Green compound. Each tire is glued to our new Hazard wheel, and when purchased separately the unmounted Landmines are also compatible with the SCX6 stock rims.
Our popular Tusk treads are also now available in a 2.9″ size for the Axial SCX6. Without our included medium, open cell inserts these new tires have a 147mm (5.78”) overall size.
This tire was also inspired by 1:1 vehicles and is packed with many features. The center of the tire starts with a V-shaped lug with multiple steps to the sides for additional grip while the Green compound rubber flexes and contours to the landscape.
The Tusk also incorporates large, staggered traction bars off the side continuing the V-shape pattern and while the shorter version steps in conjunction with the center lug, the longer version fills a void underneath and meets up near the center line of the tire.
And just like the Landmines, the Tusk also available in a pre-mounted option on our new Hazard wheels. Sold in packs of two these pre-mounts also use our Super Soft Green compound, and thanks to the pre-mounts you can spend less time inside gluing tires, and more time hitting the trails in the great outdoors.
Smoothies Short Course Truck Tires
We have extended our popular Smoothies tire line to include short course trucks too. The Smoothies for SCT are available in both Green and Silver compounds. Each tire comes stuffed with our gray Dirt-Tech inserts and they are sold in pairs of two.
These tires use an industry standard 3.0” x 2.2” bead mounting size, and they will excel on indoor clay surfaces where the traction is so high that a slick tire will perform faster. So put your drill away and pick up a set of these tires today!
Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Kit For The D819 & E819
Our popular Fin turnbuckles are now available for the HB Racing D819 and E819 1/8 off-road buggies. We offer these in stealth black or burnt blue color options, and both sets include six pieces in total. The turnbuckles come with left and right handed threads, and the left side is conveniently marked to help you install them correctly.
They are crafted from high-grade, machined titanium material, and the center features a beefy 5mm square that gradually tapers down into a thread base design which accepts the rod ends included in the buggy kits.
For HB drivers that want to run a Worlds Spec front end setup with their D819 or E819 we got you covered too. We also offer a special two piece set that includes 5x35mm turnbuckles. These are also crafted from fine titanium materials, and they are offered in both stealth black and burnt blue color options.
Per usual these turnbuckles use left and right-hand threads with the left side conveniently marked for easy orientation.
Burnt Blue 3.5mm Fin Turnbuckle Sets For The TLR 22 5.0 & 22X-4
We followed that up with our new 3.5mm Fin Turnbuckle Sets for TLR vehicles. Starting with the TLR 22 5.0 we now offer a six piece set that is anodized in a burnt blue color.
In the center area of the turnbuckles you will see our stylish “finned” cuts, and the base of the design is centered around a .143” (3.7mm wrench) titanium hex size which gradually tapers down into a 3.5mm thread base design which accepts the standard TLR ball-cups. These turnbuckles also feature left and right-hand threads with the left side specially marked so you install them in the correct direction.
A second set is available for the TLR 22X-4 4wd off-road buggy too. This set is also only available in a burnt blue color, and each set includes a total of seven turnbuckles. They are also manufactured out of high-grade, machined titanium material which keeps them lightweight and durable at the same time.
Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set For The Tekno NB48 2.1 & EB48 2.1
Next, we released our turnbuckles for the Tekno NB48 2.1 and EB48 2.1 off-road buggies. We now offer a seven piece set that is available in both stealth black or burnt blue color selections. Each version is crafted from quality titanium materials which will keep them lightweight and strong at the same time.
A standardized thread base will fit the buggy kit’s existing rod ends, and left and right-hand threads are also included.
We also offer a special two piece set for drivers who also want to equip their buggy’s setting assembly. Two 4x56mm turnbuckles are included, and the design is centered on a beefy 5mm square titanium which gradually tapers down into a thread base design which accepts the rod ends featured in the kit.
Again the left hand side is conveniently marked for you so you can install them correctly, and they also have left and right-hand threads too. You can also pick these up in either our stealth black or burnt blue color choices.
Pre-Mounted Smoothie 2 4wd Buggy Front Tires
Our popular Smoothie 2 4wd Buggy Front Tires are now available pre-mounted on our proven Mono yellow wheels. Now drivers can choose between our white or yellow Mono wheels when they want to pick up a set of pre-mounted Smoothie 2 tires for more convenience. The tires use our winning Silver compound and stuffed inside are our gray Dirt-Tech inserts.
2.2″ Landmines & Tusk Crawling Tires
JConcepts is now offering our popular Landmines and Tusk crawling tires in a new 2.2″ size option. These tires are designed to be run on Class 3 rigs like the Axial Adventure Bomber and Ryft or any other vehicle that requires tires in this size.
Starting with the Landmines, this tire uses a center split-block that is sliced, stepped and recessed for maximum traction over many surfaces. There are also alternating cavity and solid pads which aid a driver when they move from pavement or a smooth dirt surface to one that consists of mud, dirt and rocks.
Towards the outside of the carcass there are horizontal grippy pads with channels and edges to provide more forward climbing traction. Available in our Super Soft compound these tires also include our medium, open cell inserts and are sold in packs of two.
The Tusk’s tread pattern uses V-shaped lugs with multiple steps to the side for additional grip in the center of the tread pattern. Large, staggered traction bars were added to the sides as well to continue the V-shape pattern.
The shorter versions of these traction bars work in conjunction with the center lug, while the longer version helps to fill a void underneath and then meet up with the center of the tire. All of the traction bars used in this design feature relieved cuts and slots on the top to break up the flat surfaces and increase grip on various surfaces.
These tires also include medium, open cell inserts, are sold in pairs and use our proven Green compound.
Nessi & Swagger 1/8 Buggy Carpet & Astroturf Tires
After gathering feedback from drivers JConcepts delivers another tire option for competing on carpet and AstroTurf surfaces, but this time for the 1/8 buggy class.
Starting with the Nessi, this tire is based on the smaller 1/10 version, but the design and tire size has been increased for the larger vehicle class. This new tire uses a lightweight carcass and 3D blended, medium-height pins for quicker reaction.
Towards the outer sidewall small semi-circles have been added to improve side-bite without increasing the grip too much so you can avoid traction rolls. These are sold in pairs and each set includes open cell inserts and are available in our Pink compound.
The Swagger tire has been designed for standard 83mm buggy wheels and are also available in our Pink compound.
The low profile and lightweight carcass will give you increased speed, and sidewall ribs have been placed in a circular pattern to the outside of the tire to help support high-grip racing conditions.
Pre-Mounted Pin Swag 2wd Buggy Front Tires
JConcepts hits the easy button for carpet racers with our new Pre-Mounted Pin Swag 2wd Buggy Front Tires. These tires are now available already glued to our white or yellow Mono front wheels for 2wd buggies, and they use our race proven Pink compound.
The Pin Swag tires use a low profile carcass layout with ultra-light weight scalloped tire beads to reduce the rotational weight. The unique tread pattern of this tire incorporates a split down the center to give a little individual control to contort to surfaces. In between, a stagger section with angular front is placed just behind a vertical rib to complete the design.
Our popular S15 body style is now available for the latest 1/8 nitro buggy from Team Associated. The S15 blends performance features from the popular Silencer body with new features such as mid-body winglets and rear stabilizer kick-up.
It also has numerous features like a forward cab bias, channeled rear escape and a cockpit “shark fin” for more stability.
The body comes clear with a protective film, window masks and a decal sheet.
Pre-Mounted Magma Tires On Hazard Wheels For Traxxas & ARRMA Vehicles
First developed for the 1/8 off-road buggy market, the Magma is now available in a new size for owners of Traxxas and ARRMA vehicles. These tires were developed to be tough thanks to features like a horizontal, bridge shaped tread pattern, diagonal relief cuts, heavy inner x-bracing, sidewall support ribs and blocking that helps to minimize expansion.
They are sold in pairs and already glued to our Hazard wheels. The multi-piece Hazard wheel is secured to the tire with dependable hardware via beadlock rings on the inside and out. The pre-installed hardware fits together tightly and bites through the tire bead to hold the hefty assembly in position.
Two hex adaptors are included to accommodate different vehicles on the market. The installed option with 17mm hex installs directly to the popular vehicles such as the Traxxas X-Maxx and XRT. The optional hex is needed when installing onto an ARRMA Kraton 8s.
Pre-Mounted Choppers Tires On Hazard Wheels For Traxxas & ARRMA Vehicles
Also available for Traxxas and ARRMA vehicles are our Choppers tires. They are also sold pre-mounted to our Hazard wheels, and both the Choppers and the Magma use our all-purpose Platinum medium compound.
The Choppers are also rugged and durable thanks to their tall, burly lug design with recessed lugs, and outer sidewalls that include heavy and massive JConcepts X-Tread support ribs to aid traction in tight conditions or while against sharp or angled objects.
Stuffed inside are open cell inserts, and each set also includes 17mm and 24mm hex adaptors for vehicle versatility.
17mm Hex Axle Kit For The Losi LMT
Next, we released a new 17mm Hex Axle Kit for the Losi LMT monster truck. By using this new kit you can avoid using the standard 6mm axle and wheel nut combination, and instead you can upgrade to a 12mm hex axle which adds greater strength. Not only is it stronger, but it is also an easier to use design featuring a 17mm hex wheel nut.
Included in each kit are four hex axle stubs, four 17mm serrated wheel nuts and 4mm screw pins that are used to secure the assembly. All components are crafted from aluminum, anodized in black and please visit the product page on our website for more helpful installation tips.
Monster Truck Wheel Adaptor Sets
We followed that up with some new wheel adaptors for monster trucks. Up first was the new 17mm Hex Adaptor for Losi LMT and Traxxas Maxx vehicles.
These injection molded hex adapters feature a durable 17mm hex design and they are designed to be used with our Aggressor 2.6″ x 3.8″ 17mm wheels.
Four pieces are included in each package so you can convert over your monster rig and you can use the stock hardware to mount them into place.
We also released some new 17mm Hex Axle Adaptors to use with our Transporter tires and Tribute Transport Wheels. These new injection molded 17mm adaptors will allow you to use them in two configuration options.
One is to pair them up with a standard 6mm axle on the Losi LMT, and the other option is to use them on your LMT when converted to a 17m hex axle. Also included are six spoke drop in spacers which allows the wheel nuts to clamp evenly across the surface with the larger 17mm nuts.
JConcepts also announced their new 17mm Hex Adaptors that are used with Tribute wheels on a Losi LMT. By doing this we now offer a 25mm offset adaptor for 17mm hex based vehicles. JCI Hunter Clear Body For The Traxxas Stampede
This body is sold clear and has a retro vibe to it with its early 1990’s look and feel. The body’s design features crisp fender flares with trimlines, a louvered bed with a built-in rear cab spoiler and in the back some tailgate features have been added for more scale realism.
Also included are some finely detailed headlight, grille, and turn signal locations, plus a decal sheet and window masks. Also, do note that to use this body properly with a Traxxas Stampede you will need to pick a Traxxas Front and Rear Body Mount Set (#1914R) too.
That release was followed up with our new Racing Team Hat for 2023. This hat features an embroidered 2023 Race Team logo in the front, vent holes are located at the top to increase air circulation and the flat bill is colored in black. In the back you will find a snap-back that is adjustable which means this new hat should fit nearly everyone.
The latest off-road vehicles from Team Associated now use 13mm shock bodies and components, and we are happy to announce that our popular shock accessories have been updated too.
Starting with the Fin Shock Collar, these are available in either blue or black anodized options and both versions are crafted from lightweight and durable aluminum. Portions of the collars have a knurled section to help you grip them for quick and easy adjustments.
They also feature etched JC logos for brand identification and are compatible with the OEM’s inner O-rings.
Our Fin Shock Caps have also been updated to make them compatible with Team Associated 13mm shocks. They are also anodized in both blue and black and both selections include etched logos for identification. A knurled section has been added to the outer rim of the cap to help you install or remove the caps when your hands get slippery with shock fluid.
They are also manufactured from aluminum and will install cleanly over the standard shock body O-ring.
We also updated our Fin Spring Cups to make them compatible with 13mm shocks as well. We offer both 5mm and 0mm off-sets and both versions are available in either black or blue color choices, plus they are constructed from aluminum.
To keep these cups from flying off your shock shafts in that eventual hard crash, an unique path has been incorporated into the design for the shock shaft along with some small holes to help relieve the stress of built up dirt and debris.
Note: The new 13mm shocks from Team Associated still use the same VCS3 Shock Bottom Caps from the previous generation shocks, and we provide a Fin version of these caps too (#2492).
Pin Swag 2.2″ 4wd Buggy Front Tires & Pre-Mounts
We followed that up by releasing our Pin Swag 2.2″ front tires for 4wd buggies. Now 4wd buggy drivers have another weapon at their disposal with this release, and the Pin Swag offers many benefits like a low profile, wide-body carcass layout, ultra-light weight scalloped tire beads that help to reduce rotational weight and a dense layout that will minimize tire wear.
These also use our proven Pink compound and each package includes two tires.
If a driver needs to hit the track even faster, we also offer these new tires in a pre-mounted configuration! Racers can pick up these new front tires already glued to our race proven Mono front rims, and they can choose from white or yellow color options.
Both versions use our Pink compound too and these are also sold in pairs.
Drop Step 2.2″ Rear 2WD & 4WD Buggy Tire
Another carpet tire was released after that called the Drop Step. These 2.2″ rear tires can be used for both 2wd and 4wd off-road buggies.
The Drop Step has an old school look to it with the large, spaced out pins which will help it to dig into turf track surfaces that call for a longer pin tire option. The design of the tire incorporates semi-circle protrusions that help to provide more side-bite and the scalloped tire bead increases the rolling speed due to the reduced weight in this area.
Kosmos 1/8 Buggy Tires Now Available In The Aqua (A2) Compound
Our popular Kosmos tire is now available in our Aqua (A2) compound. This 1/8 off-road buggy tire is packed with features like an outer row of pins that have been clipped back to maximize cornering consistency, an inner carcass with three radial ribs that help to reduce the tire from ballooning under max acceleration and staggered rows of rectangular blocks in a unique zig zag pattern.
Sprinter Short Course Truck Tires Now Available In The Aqua (A2) Compound
Also now available in our Aqua (A2) compound are our Sprinter tires for short course trucks. These tires are ideal for both dirt off-road or dirt oval tracks, and the outer sidewall uses angled pins that are embedded into the design to help your car release in the turns to provide you more rotation. The tread pattern also uses square, angled pins with horizontal traction bars that are stacked vertically which will wear less while providing more forward bite. These are sold in pairs and they also include our Dirt-Tech closed cell inserts.
Burnt Blue Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set For The TLR 8ight-X 2.0 | E
We now offer a Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set for the TLR 8ight-X 2.0 | E in a new burnt blue color option. Previously this was only offered in black and now TLR drivers have 2 color options to choose from. Both versions are made from high-grade, machine titanium material and use left and right-hand threads.
The left side is marked for your convenience when installing them into your car, and the center of the turnbuckle includes a thick 5mm square (camber and steering links) to use for adjusting the length of the buckles. Moving from that center square tapers down into a thread base that is compatible with the kit’s rod ends, and we also include a 3mm Fin Titanium steering drag link for a complete look and to finish the kit.
Tribute Wheels BIGFOOT Body Set
Our final release of the quarter was a big one with our latest BIGFOOT option body for RC monster truck fans! The Tribute Wheels BIGFOOT Body Set is a clear 1993 Ford F-250 body that includes officially licensed decals, yellow mock light buckets, light bucket covers and lens caps.
The body is 7.50″ wide with a wheelbase of 13″ which will make them compatible with popular trucks like the Losi LMT, Axial SMT10 or any other monster truck build that fits those dimensions.
This new body also includes a racerback and visor for more scale realism, and to help you prep it for your next build we also include window masks and an overspray film.
