Race Team Update – March 2023 Week #5

The JConcepts race team keeps their March momentum moving forward with another solid weekend of racing which you can read about in this week’s Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out in sunny California. Team driver Peyton Heizer recently competed at Full Throttle Hobbies in Ceres for their April Fools race event, and he finished 1st overall in the Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Crossing the border we now head to the Fear Farm in Phoenix, AZ to catch up with JConcepts driver Adam Peters. He recently raced there in the 1/5 Arizona Championship event and competed in 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy. He qualified 2nd overall in the nitro class, but ran into some bad luck and had to retire early with a DNF. In the electric class his car was on point all weekend long as he set the TQ and took the win!

Shooting over to Texas let’s get a few updates from the team competing at different tracks throughout the state. Starting in the city of Hutto where Thornhill Racing Circuit is located team driver Billy DiCorte Jr. recently competed there for Round 3 of their Championship Series.

He would finish 6th overall in the Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy class, and he secured the 3rd spot on the podium in Expert 1/8 Electric Truggy!

Team driver Brian Germany and his son recently visited N-Control RC Racing Circuit in Dale, TX.

This track was host to the RC Pro Dirt Oval Series, and Brian let us know that he finished 4h in the Midwest Modified class, while his son competed in the Street Stock class and locked up the final podium spot!

Also competing at this race was JC driver Jordan Hefler in five different classes! He would set the TQ in the Wingless Sprint, SC Mod, Late Model and Midwest Modified classes! Then he went on to take the W in the the Wingless and Street Stock classes too, plus he takes home our coveted “ironman” award for this week!

Moving north into Oklahoma we stop in at Shifty’s RC Raceway in Tulsa for our next report. Team driver Rhett McNair competed in their Spring Fling event, and he took the TQ and win in both the 17.5 and Mod 2wd Buggy classes! Joining him on the Mod 2wd Buggy podium in 2nd place was his fellow JConcepts driver David Alberico!

Staying in Oklahoma let’s now head to the city of Yukon where Taylor Park is located.

Team driver Jennifer Lathrop competed in both the Outlaw Sprint and Wingless Sprint classes, and she would go on to set the TQ in the wingless class and also double down with two class wins!

Her teammate Tyler Keel also competed in the Outlaw Sprint class where he finished 3rd overall!

JConcepts driver Kevin Mcnatt raced in the SC Mod class and set the TQ and took the win!

Team driver Heath Lawson also competed at this event in the Midwest Mod class where he set the TQ and finished 2nd overall!

Heading north we now stop in at Thunder Road RC Raceway in Waite Park, MN. Team driver Kyle Holmberg competed at a recent Points Series race in three classes, and at the end of the day he would TQ two of them take the W in all three!

Now we head to the “Land Of Lincoln” to see how the team performed at a recent Trigger King RC event held at Dream Fields Raceway in Waterloo, IL. Team driver Chris Parrish took bracket wins in the Retro and Pro Mod classes with his Master of Disaster and Equalizer trucks!

His tire teammate Jeremy Mark also competed at this event too. In the Retro class he set the TQ and took the win in racing bracket 2, and was crowned the overall Retro class champ with his Buffalo Tremor 2 replica! In the Sport Mod class his Taurus 3 replica made the finals of racing bracket 1, qualified 2nd in racing bracket 2 and finished 3rd on the podium overall for the day! In the Pro Mod class his Sudden Impact truck qualified 3rd in racing bracket 2, won racing bracket 2 and finished as the runner-up on the podium for the day!

Moving to Michigan we catch up with team driver Russ Bryant. He recently raced at the Belleville RC Club in the city of Belleville for their 2023 Carpet Fuzz Classic which saw over 130 entries! He would lock up 2nd place for the event in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Pivoting to Pennsylvania we now get our next report from JConcepts driver Matt Morris. Last Saturday he went to Richfield Raceway in the town of Richfield to race in their Off-Road Carpet Championship that had over 120 entries! He competed in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes, and would make the mains in both and finished with a TQ and win in the 13.5 wheeler class!

Heading down the coastline we stop in at Thunder Alley RC Speedway in Lucama, NC to get our next report from team driver Dave McEwen. This past weekend he competed in the finals for their Super 7 Series in the 17.5 2wd and Mod 4wd Buggy classes, and he set the TQ and took the win in the 2wd class, plus he also took the win in the mod wheeler class! After the series points were tallied he would also take home 1st place for the season in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes!

Sending it south to Bartow, FL we drop in at Triple Nickel Raceway to meet up with JC driver Brian Miller. He just wrapped up competing at Race #3 of the Emerge Series held there, and he let us know that he set the TQ and took the win in the Mod 2wd Short Course Truck class!

Now let’s get some updates from our Australian team starting with JC driver Darren Johnston. This past Saturday he attended the 3rd round of the 2023 West Australian Electric Interclub series held at MORBC (Model Off Road Buggy Club). He competed in the Mod 4wd Buggy class and he set the TQ and took the overall win after the AAA mains!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Alex Bernadzik. He recently competed at the 1/8 Queensland State titles, but unfortunately the event got cut short due to weather so the final results were based on qualifying. He would finish 2nd overall in the 1/8 Nitro Truggy class and took the win in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!
