Race Team Update – April 2023 Week #1

The first full week of racing in April is now complete, and the JConcepts race team continues to compete, which you can read for yourself in this fresh edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report over in Oklahoma. This past weekend the team was competing at a few different RC events in the state so let’s see how they finished up starting with Shaw’s RC Track in the city of Ardmore. Round 3 of their Shootout Series was held over the weekend that brought in 164 entries! Team driver Jared Wiggins competed in both the Expert 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes and he would set the TQ and take the W in both! Joining him on the podium in 2nd place was fellow JC pilot Reggie Tongue!

Also competing at this event was team driver Kayty Roxberry in the Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes. She would finish 4th in e buggy and also lock up 2nd place in e truggy!

JC driver Colton Jones would take the TQ and win in the kid’s class too!

Staying in the state we now head to Battleground RC Speedway in Muskogee to get our next report from team driver Brian Stanton. He competed there this past Saturday for their Azalea Nationals that brought in nearly 100 entries!

He signed up for both the Open Sprint and Latemodel classes and at the end of the day he would take the TQ and win in both!

Heading up north we make our way to Dollar Hobbyz in Woodbury, MN. This past weekend was the 6th and final round of their winter points series and team driver Thor Ott would set the TQ and take the win in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class! Joining him on the podium in the 2nd spot was fellow JC driver Kyle Holmberg!

Heading out east we steam full ahead to Trains and Lanes Hobbies in Easton, PA. This past weekend was their season opener which brought out nearly 170 entries! Team driver Aydan Manchanda competed in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class and would set the TQ and finish in 2nd place! He also ran in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class and locked up 3rd overall!

His brother and fellow JC driver Dylan Manchanda competed in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class where he finished 7th overall!

Moving even further to the northeast we check in with team driver John Cravotta. This past weekend he went to Maximus RC Raceway in York, ME to compete in Round 7 of their BRPS Points series, and he let us know that he set the TQ and took the win in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Sending it south we now head to Beachline Raceway in Cocoa, FL to see how the team finished up in the final round of their Carpet Wars. Starting with team driver Carter Gonzalez he let us know that he set the TQ and took the win in the 21.5 2wd Buggy class!

JConcepts driver Brett Kingsbury also competed at the finals, and when the points were added up he would finish 3rd in Mod 2wd Buggy and take the overall title in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class!

Now let’s get some updates from out international team starting with team driver Jake Dell. This past weekend he competed at Round 1 of the Summer series held at Herts RC Models over in the UK.

He competed in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class for his 8th off-road dirt event ever, and he finished 3rd overall in the C Main! He then bumped up into the B Main and would finish the round 10th overall, plus he was the top finishing junior at this race event!

Our final report comes to us from team driver Clément Boda. He recently competed in Round 2 of the French Championships held in Antibes in the south of France. He competed in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes and set the TQ in the mod wheeler class and took the win in both of them!
