Beachline RC Raceway is a popular remote-controlled car racing facility in Cocoa, Florida. It offers a wide range of racing classes for both beginners and experienced racers, including 1/10th scale off-road and on-road, as well as dirt oval. The track at Beachline RC Raceway is known for being well-maintained and challenging, with features such as jumps, step-downs, and technical sections to test drivers’ skills. The facility has an on-site hobby shop that offers a wide selection of parts, upgrades, and accessories! Beachline RC Raceway hosts various events throughout the year, including local club races, state-level championships, and national-level events such as the ROAR 1:10 Off-Road Carpet Nationals.
The format of the weekend was pretty standard for a ROAR Nationals. There were two rounds of seeding, four rounds of qualifying, and the main events. The Stock and Modified Buggy classes were triple A-Mains! The tire of the weekend were Pin Swag fronts and Fuzz Bite Rears. The JConcepts Pin Swag Tires are a popular choice among racers who compete on carpet tracks, thanks to their unique pin-type tread design, pink rubber compound, pre-mounted convenience (optional), and high-quality construction.

A1: Dakotah Phend led the way after taking the overall TQ! Spencer Rivkin was trailing close behind, and on the third lap, Phend got a little wobbly over the jump section in front of the driver’s stand which allowed Rivkin to take over the lead. Once Rivkin took over the lead he never looked back and held on until the final tone. Phend and Foote battled it out for the remainder of the race for the final two positions. The final results were Rivkin, Foote, and Phend.
A2: The race began with a fresh clean start and on lap two Phend went a little wide before the jump over the driver’s stand and Rivkin took the inside line into the lead. Rivkin would lead the remainder of A2 and wrap up the National Title early! From there the race was relatively uneventful. Phend held on to 2nd and Champlin hung out in 3rd!
A3: With Rivkin wrapping it up early, he sat out of A3. Phend led the majority of the race with Champlin right on his tail. In the final four laps of the race, Champlin made a move on Phend to take over the lead. Phend was still right there and it was a battle all the way to the final tone! The final results of A3 were Champlin, Phend, and Horne.
4wd Modified Buggy: Dakotah Phend (1), Broc Champlin (2), Spencer Rivkin (3)
A1: Dakotah Phend was the overall TQ in 4wd Modified Buggy! The race was pretty uneventful as Phend led the entire thing tone to tone. The battle for the second was back and forth between several drivers. Ty Tessmann qualified 2nd and hung out there for 2 laps. Tater Sontag surged into that coveted 2nd position and then Horne found himself there for a lap. Ultimately, Champlin was hanging out waiting for the perfect time to jump into 2nd. On lap 7 Horne had a small bobble, and Champlin pounced on the opportunity to move up. Champlin remained there for the entire race.
A2: Dakotah Phend was on a mission and was determined to wrap up this national title early. He proved it when he led this race tone to tone effortlessly. Ty Tessmann cruised along in 2nd for the majority of the race until lap 12 where Rivkin was sure to capitalize on even the slightest mistake. Rivkin surged in 2nd place for the final 8 laps of the race. The race concluded as Phend, Rivkin, and Tessmann.
A3: Dakotah Phend had already claimed the title early, so it came down to determining the final two podium positions. Ty Tessmann led the way. After some chaos at the start, Broc Champlin found himself in 2nd. However, Tater Sontag wanted to take it from him by the time they hit lap 9. Champlin hung out in 3rd until a mistake by Tessmann and Sontag boosted him up into the lead. Champlin led the final 6 laps of the race. Due to that same mistake, Horne jumped up to 2nd and Cavalieri jumped into 3rd.
Modified Stadium Truck: Dakotah Phend (1), Spencer Rivkin (2), Broc Champlin (3)
A1: Spencer Rivkin started first on the grid and led the way. On lap two Rivkin got a little squirrelly and Dakotah Phend took the inside line right before going over the drivers stand jumps. From there Phend led the remainder of the entire race and Rivkin cruised in 2nd. Broc Champlin was consistent and maintained 3rd for the entire race.
A2: This race was pretty uneventful until the final laps. Rivkin cruised along in 1st, Phend pushed the pace in 2nd, and Champlin was hanging out in 3rd. During the final 5 laps Rivkin, Rivkin, and Phend was nose to tail going down the stage. Rivkin barely leaves any space around the S-turn but Phend goes for it, shoving his Stadium Truck into the gap and giving Rivkin a health bump. It worked! Phend’s gutsy move gave him the lead and the ROAR National title!
A3: Phend already wrapped up the National Title and Rivkin led the entire A3 tone to tone. Champlin was in 2nd, but on lap two he made a little mistake that allowed Sontag and Cavalieri to move up. For the remainder of the race, Cavalieri was in 2nd and Sontag was in 3rd.
In conclusion, the ROAR 1:10 Off-Road Carpet Nationals was a highly competitive and exciting event that showcased some of the best carpet racers in the industry. The event was marked by intense battles on the track, as drivers pushed themselves and their cars to the limit in pursuit of victory.
