Race Team Update – May 2023 Week #2

The JConcepts race team never rests as it continues to compete at tracks around the globe. Read about our winning ways this past week in this fresh edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report up in the Pacific Northwest region at Skagit River Raceway, Burlington, WA. This past week they held their first club event, and team driver Robert Sorjonen competed in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy and Truggy classes, plus 1/8 Electric Buggy. He finished 4th in nitro buggy, second in nitro truggy and a TQ and a win in e buggy!

Heading south into sunny California we meet with up with JC driver Joseph Levin at Nor-Cal Hobbies in San Jose. He recently club raced there and grabbed two TQs and wins in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes!

Crossing over into Arizona we stop in at Adobe Mountain RC in the city of Phoenix. This past weekend they held Round 1 of the AZ Heatwave Series, and our driver Adam Peters finished 3rd overall in the Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Shooting over to Texas we get our next report from team driver Billy DiCorte Jr. Recently he went to the HobbyTown in Waco to compete in a club event racing with his Losi Mini-B. He had much success as he set the TQ and took the W home!

Veering north we make our way to RC Pitstop and Raceway in Newton, KS. Team driver Mason Herrick was back in action competing in Round 1 of their Carpet Summer Sizzler series. He competed in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class and would set the TQ and take home the win!

Moving over to Missouri we check out the team’s results at a recent dirt oval event held at SmacTrac in St. Charles. Starting with team driver Connor Light he reports that he finished 3rd in Mod Latemodel and took the win in the Mod Sprint class!

His tire teammate Brad Dean set the TQ and finished 2nd in Mod Sprint, plus he grabbed another TQ and a win in the Mod Latemodel class!

Heading further north we stop in at FTR Raceway in Foley, MN. This past weekend was the opening day for their outdoor season and team driver Joe Scaramell competed in the 1/8 Electric Buggy and Nitro Truggy classes. He would finish 12th in e buggy and locked up 2nd place in nitro truggy!

His teammate Kyle Holmberg competed in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class for this opening event. He would set the TQ and finish 2nd to his JC teammate Seth VanDalen!

Bouncing down to the “Hoosier State” we stop in at the Hoosier RC Hobbyplex in New Albany, IN to see how the team finished up at their recent Derby Hangover event. Starting with JC driver Nick Reppen he let us know that he finished 3rd in Mod 2wd Buggy and took the W in the Mod 4wd Buggy class! Joining him on the Mod 4wd podium was his tire teammate Mike Winders in 2nd place!

His teammate Talon Henley competed in three classes for this race. In the 17.5 2wd Buggy class he would suffer a DNF to finish 7th overall, in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class he locked up the final podium spot and in the Mod 2wd Buggy class he would take the win! Joining him on the Mod 2wd Buggy podium to complete the JConcepts podium sweep were teammates Brian Dunbar (2nd) and Nick Reppen (3rd)!

Heading out east we catch up with team driver Aydan Manchanda. He recently visited Trains N Lanes Hobbies in Nazerath, PA to compete in a recent event in multiple classes. He competed in the Pro 1/8 Electric and Truggy classes and he took wins in both of them!

Heading even further to the Northeast we catch up with team driver Daniel Sedler. He raced in a local club event held at Hillside Raceway in Epping, NH, and he would TQ and win in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Moving down the coastline we stop in at High Voltage RC Speedway in Anderson, SC. Recently team driver Ennis Graves competed in a club race there and he locked up 3rd overall in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class!

Flying down to Florida we visit the city of Crestview where B & T RC Raceway is located at. Recently team driver Hunter King competed there in a club event where he TQed both rounds of qualifying before the rain washed out the A Main which gave him the overall win in 1/8 Electric Buggy!

Our final report this week comes to use courtesy of international driver Jake Dell. This past weekend was the UK Nationals at the HNMC (Herts Nitro Model Club). This young driver is still getting his feet wet in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class, but he did a great job as he bumped up to the 1/16 finals and finished 82nd overall for this event!
