Race Team Update – July 2023 Week #3

The weather outside keeps heating up and so does the JConcepts race team out on the track! Read about where we were on fire at this past week in this red hot edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out in sunny California. There were several events taking place throughout the state, so let’s check in to see how the team finished up at them starting with JC driver Joseph Levin. He just wrapped up competing at the 14th Annual Off-Road Belt Champs race held at Nor-Cal Hobbies in San Jose, and he would take the TQ and win in the Expert 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes along with 13.5 Stadium Truck!

Team driver Jeremy Bunting competed in Round 4 of the Nor Cal RC Monster Truck Series held at Auburn RC in the city of Auburn.

In the 2.2 class he set the TQ and finished first and second in the racing division, plus he also took the crown in the freestyle competition with his Bad Company replica! In the 2.6 class he made it to the semi-finals and tied for the Freestyle win finishing second overall too!

Moving south we now check in with team driver Trever Adamo who recently competed at the So Cal RC Monster Truck racing series. He would take the win in the Retro class at Round 7, and he also made the finals in this class for Round 8 with his Bigfoot 7 replica rig! His Hang Time and Wildfoot trucks also made appearances in the finals for Round 7 and 8 with Hang Time taking the win!

Now we cross the state line into Arizona to get this quick report from team driver James Rodriguez. This past weekend he visited Hobby Action RC Raceway in Chandler since they were the host track for the 2023 Arizona State Dirt Oval Championship. He competed in the Outlaw Wing Sprint, 13.5 Wing Sprint, SC B Mod, and Late Model classes. He retired early from the 13.5 Wing Sprint class to focus on the other three, so that meant he wrapped up the event with a 10th place finish in Outlaw Sprint, 7th place in Late Model and 4th overall in SC B Mod!

Continuing our tour of the southwest we now make our way to Overlook Raceway in White Rock, NM. This past weekend they held their King Of The Hill event and team driver Scott Brewer competed in two classes, and he finished 2nd in 1/8 Electric Truggy and 1st in 1/8 Nitro Truggy!

Shooting over to Texas we catch up with JConcepts drover Jordan Hefler. He recently competed at Round 6 of the Sent It Series at Indy RC World in Garland in the Expert 1/8 Electric and Nitro Truggy classes where he finished 2nd place in both! Then the next day he went over to RCCA (RC Car Club Of America) in Forth Worth where he took the win TQ and win in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class!

Turning north let’s get this quick update from team driver Tyler Keel. He made his way back to Taylor Park RC Raceway in Yukon, OK for race 5 in their points series. He would set the TQ and take the W once again in the Outlaw Sprint class!

Making our way up to Minnesota let’s stop in at Foley where FTR Raceway is located. They recently hosted Round 3 of the MNRC Minnesota Off-Road Racing Series and team driver Josh Ford competed in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy and Truggy classes. In buggy he would finish 3rd overall while in truggy he would drive on to take the win!

Also competing at this race for the team was fellow JC driver Joe Scaramell in 1/8 Electric Buggy and 40+ 1/8 Nitro Truggy. In e buggy a hard hit would end his day early in this class, but in truggy he made the finals where he finished 8th overall!

Heading down to the “Land of Lincoln” we get our next report from team driver Brayden Billington. He recently went to RJD Hobbies in the town of Lincoln to compete at their Midwest Meltdown trophy race in three classes. He would finish the event with a 3rd place finish in 1/8 Electric Buggy, 2nd place in 1/8 Nitro Buggy and 1st overall in 1/8 Electric Truggy!

Staying in Illinois let’s now head to Gibson City where BBMODS Racing is located at. This past weekend they held their 2023 Summer Nationals and team driver Justin Driemeier reports that he finished 2nd in Late Model and 1st place in Mod Sprint!

Staying in the state some more let’s get our next update from JC driver Lukas Klein. He recently competed at a TTC event held at the Crawler Canyon RC Park in Rockdale where he had to compete in five different events, and after the points were calculated he would finish 1st overall!

Moving over to Cochran, GA let’s stop in at Lil Cochran RC Speedway & Hobbies to see how the team finished up at their recent Peach State 50 dirt oval event. Starting with team driver Patrick Rossiter Jr. he let us know that he finished 5th overall in the B Main for the 17.5 Late Model class and 3rd place in the B Main for Mod Sprint!

His tire teammate Erik Everett was also at this event and he finished 3rd overall in the A Main in the Mod Sprint class!

Moving up the coastline we now visit Adrenaline RC Raceway in Winchester, VA for our next update. This past weekend they hosted the second round of their outdoor points series, and team driver Javon Mallory finished in 2nd place in both the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes along with a TQ in the nitro class!

Staying in Virginia let’s now head to the city of Fredericksburg where Powerline RC is located at. They recently held their Nitro Showdown event and team drivers Rusty Mihelich and Maddy Long were competing there for the team. Rusty would set the TQ in both the 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes, and then race on to finish 2nd in e buggy and 1st in e truggy! Maddy would set the TQ in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and then drive on to take the win, plus she picked up another W in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Clément Boda. He recently competed at the European Electric Off-Road Championships held Holland, and after the event had concluded he finished 20th overall in the 4wd portion of the race after a DNF in the B finals, and in the 2wd program he made the A finals where he finished in 9th place!
