Race Team Update – September 2023 Week #1

The JConcepts team gets off to a hot start as the month of September begins. Read where we made the podium at in the latest edition of the JConcepts Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report down at Checkered Flag R/C Raceway in Bonner Spring, KS. This past weekend they held their Racing For Heroes dirt oval trophy event and team driver David Alberico took 1st place in the SC Late Model class!

His son and fellow JConcepts driver Shane Alberico was also competing at this event in the Mod Sprint class where he finished 2nd overall!

Heading north we make our way to Omaha, NE where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located. This past weekend was the final round of their Summer Series which saw 135 entries! When the points were added up team driver Brandon Kearney would finish 7th in Mod 2wd Buggy and 6th place in Mod 4wd Buggy!

JC driver Riley Filbert competed in three classes over the summer for the entries series. When the points were added up he would finish 4th in Mod 2wd Buggy, 3rd in Mod 4wd Buggy and 1st overall in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class! Joining him on the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy podium in 2nd place was his tire teammate Emerson Sturgeon!

Dribbling over to New Castle, IN we stop in at Gary’s RC Racing. There we find team driver Bella Rogers who recently traveled there compete in a special cash prize race event. After the racing was done for the day she would finish 5th in 1/8 Electric Truggy and 3rd place in 1/8 Electric Buggy!

Not only did she take home some cash this past weekend, but she also won a new 1/8 Nitro Truggy kit in the raffle too!

Moving up to Michigan we head to Beyond the Creek RC Raceway located in Swartz Creek. Team driver Michael Ciresi competed there over the weekend in their trophy event and he would finish 3rd overall in the 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Heading up the northeast we catch up with JConcepts driver John Cravotta. He recently raced at Maximus RC Raceway in York, ME for their Carpet’s What’s Up trophy race. When the event had wrapped up he would take the W in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class along with a TQ and win in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Heading down the coastline we make our way to Leaned Out Raceway in Disputanta, VA. This track hosted Round 4 of the VCS (Virginia Off-Road Championship) series, and it was also used as a special birthday bash for team driver Maddy Long too! She competed in three classes and would finish 2nd in both the 1/8 Electric Truggy and Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy classes along with a 1st place finish in Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy!

He father and fellow JC driver Rusty Mihelich also ran in three classes and would finish 4th in Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy, 2nd in Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy and he also took the win in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class!

Team driver Javon Mallory also competed in this race over the weekend in the Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy class, and he would race on to take the TQ and win!

Heading down to Georgia we meet up with team driver Jason Westfall who recently raced at Loganville RC Complex in the city of Loganville. This track hosted Round 1 of the GORCS (Georgia Off-Road Championship Series) and he finished 3rd overall in the 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Making our way to the west we now get our next report from JConcepts driver William Ables. This past weekend he went to Saratoga-Flowood RC Raceway in Magee, MS to race in the final round of the RC Pro Series that took place there. He would finish 3rd for the round that day in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class, and after the series points were calculated he would lock up the 2nd podium spot!

Also racing in the finals was his tire teammate Cameron Breaux in three different classes. He would set the TQ and finish 4th in 1/8 Nitro Truggy, grab 2nd place in 1/8 Electric Buggy and he also took the win in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Shooting over to Texas we head to Gulf Coast Raceway in Porter, TX for this quick update from JC driver Brian Germany. He raced there over the weekend for Round 3 of the HARC (Houston Area RC) Summer Series in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class where he finished 5th overall!

Our next stop is in Chico, CA where Silver Dollar RC Raceway is located. This past weekend they held their 2023 JConcepts RC Gold Cup dirt oval event and team driver Rob Moots finished 2nd in both the 13.5 and Mod Sprint classes!

Also turning left laps at this event for the team was JC driver John Schultz. He raced in the SC Mod class and would set the TQ and take the win!

Now let’s get some updates from out international team starting with team driver Jordan Miles. This past weekend he went to Bego Racing RC Raceway in Napierville, QC, Canada for Round 5 of their Summer Series. He raced in three classes and put in solid results as he finished 3rd in 1/8 Nitro Truggy, locked up 2nd place in 1/8 Electric Truggy, and he also took the win in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class! Joining him on the nitro buggy podium were fellow JC drivers Daemon Holon (TQ and 5th) and Brian Ross (3rd)!

Speaking of Daemon, he also set the TQ in the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Truggy classes too! When the dust had settled he would end the event with a 5th place finish in nitro buggy and two wins in the truggy classes!
