Race Team Update – September 2023 Week #2

Another weekend of racing means more wins for the JConcepts race team! Check out our winning ways in this week’s Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out at LCRC Raceway in Oakland Mills, PA. This weekend they held their Race to End Kids Cancer trophy event which saw 258 entries! Team driver Daniel Sedler attended this race and competed in the Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes. In the A Main for e truggy he was battling for the lead, but had to drop out early due to a mechanical failure, but he had better luck in the e buggy main as he finished 2nd overall!

Also competing at this race was fellow team driver Tom Petrella in the 40+ 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes which he took the TQ and win in both!

JC driver Matt Adams raced in the Mod 2wd Short Course Truck class and he secured the TQ and win!

Staying in Pennsylvania let’s now head to the town of Jersey Shore where Riverview RC Raceway is located. Team driver Matt Morris competed there recently in the 17.5 Sprint class and would set the TQ and take the W!

Next, let’s see how the JConcepts team finished up at The Southern Classic held in West Monroe, LA that saw 364 entries!

Starting with team driver Brian Germany he raced in the 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and locked up 4th place after the 30 minute A Main!

Team driver Billy DiCorte Jr. finished 8th in the Open 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and also took 7th overall in the Open 1/8 Electric Truggy class!

JC driver Braden Bruce competed in both the Intermediate 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes. He made the A Main for nitro buggy, but had to pull out early due to a mechanical issue. In the e buggy class he had better luck as he TQed both rounds of qualifying and then went out to take the tone to tone win!

Team driver Joel Rodriguez finished 5th in the Open 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and was joined on the podium by fellow JC drivers Robbie Darby (1st) and Reggie Tongue (2nd)!

JConcepts driver Brian Henn signed up for the Open 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes as well as Pro4 Short Course Truck. After the AA mains were ran for all three classes he would finish 5th in e buggy, 4th in e truggy and 1st place in Pro4!

Heading north let’s stop in at Battleground RC Speedway in Muskogee, OK for our next update. Team driver Brian Stanton competed there over the weekend for their North South Shootout dirt oval event. He competed in the Open Sprint and Late Model classes and made both mains! In the sprint class he had some issues with lap traffic, but in late model he was able to race to the front with a TQ and win!

Our next stop is the “show me state” for a few reports from the team competing at a few different events. Starting at Dream Fields Raceway outside of St Louis team driver Chris Parrish recently went there to compete in another round of the Trigger King RC Monster Truck Series. There was three classes of monster trucks competing in an elimination bracket style competition with two brackets in each class, and an additional standalone Freestyle class. In the ProMod he swept both racing brackets with his Equalizer 3 and Indominus monster trucks!

Fellow team driver Jeremy Mark competed in the Retro class with his Taurus 2 replica, and he TQed both racing brackets, plus made the finals which gave him the overall championship for this event! In the Sport Modified class his replica Buffalo Tremor qualified 3rd and made the semi-finals in bracket 1, and his Taurus TQed the 2nd bracket! In the Pro Modified class his Sudden Impact made the finals of racing bracket two, and his Taurus truck made the semi finals in both racing brackets which earned him a 2nd place finish!

Fellow team driver Josh Rhodes took the win in the Sport Modified class with his replica Bigfoot 8 truck, and this truck also finished 2nd overall in the Sport Mod class! In the Retro class his Grave Digger 2 and Bigfoot IV made the semi finals for bracket two, and his Bigfoot IV would take the W! In Pro Modified his Grave Digger truck took the double TQ and the overall win for the day!

Staying in Missouri let’s now head to Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs. This past Saturday was the final round of their Indoor Off-Road Summer Series and team driver Orlando Martinez took the TQ and win in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class, along with a 2nd place finish in 17.5 2wd Buggy!

Kicking it over to Kansas team driver Mason Herrick reported that he took the double TQ and win for 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy in the final round of the Summer Carpet Sizzler Series at RC Pitstop and Raceway in Newton! When the season points were tallied up he also took the overall title in the 17.5 class!

Heading north again we stop in at Leighton Speedway in Leighton, IA for this quick update from team driver David Fast. Recently he competed in their Late Model Showdown dirt oval event and would finish the night with a 4th place finish in 410 Sprint and the TQ and W in the Late Model class!

Jumping on I-35 we make our way north to Foley, MN for the season finale race at FTR (Full Throttle RC) Raceway. There we find team driver Ashton Abdul who competed in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class where he finished 2nd overall! Joining him on the nitro buggy podium to complete the JConcepts podium sweep were teammates Mason Fuller (1st) and Kyle Holmberg (3rd)!

Now let’s fly out west to sunny California to get a few updates from the team competing at different RC events. Starting with team driver Jeremy Bunting he recently attended the ASD Autism Awareness Crawl at Bear River Lake Resort in Pioneer which also featured a mini RC event held by the Nor Cal RC Monster Truck Series.

He would finish 2nd in the racing bracket and also won in the 2.2 Freestyle class with his Crash Test Dummy truck! He also took 3rd in racing and won the freestyle event in the 2.6 class with his Bad Company monster rig!

Heading to Coyote Hobbies Indoor RC Raceway in Victorville team driver Gary Slater competed in Round 4 of their Summer Madness Series in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class and took home the win!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Mike Sorchy. This past weekend he journeyed to SDRC Raceway in San Diego for Round 3 of their Endless Summer Series which saw 118 entries! He competed in the Mod 2wd Buggy class and locked up the 2nd place spot on the podium!
