Race Team Update – September 2023 Week #3

The wins keep falling like leaves from an autumn tree for the JConcepts race team! Read about where we raked up victories this past weekend in this fresh edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s race report out at DirtRunner’s RC Car Club in Oak Ridge, NJ. This past weekend they held their 36th Annual DirtRunner Challenge which brought out 144 entries! Team driver Aydan Manchanda was at this event and set the TQ and finished 3rd in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Making a diagonal to West Virginia we roll up on Tri-Cities RC Racing in town of Lavalette. This past weekend they hosted the 25th Annual WV State Championships and team driver Bella Rogers competed in the 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes plus 1/8 Electric Truggy. She qualified 2nd overall for both buggy mains, plus set the TQ in truggy! She elected to not run the buggy mains but did race in truggy where she took the win!

Sending it south we now catch up with team driver Derrick Harris. Over the weekend he went to the Easley RC Complex in Easley, SC to compete in their Summer Chaser trophy event. He signed up for the 1/8 Electric Truggy and Buggy classes and when the dust had settled he finished 5th in buggy and 2nd overall in truggy!

Moving to the west our next tour stop is at SHARC (Shoal’s Area RC Cars) Raceway in Tuscumbia, AL.

This past weekend they hosted the 15th Annual Steve Raddatz Memorial Race and team driver Will Scott set the TQ and took the win in Stadium Truck, Mod 2wd Buggy and 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy!

Also competing for the team was JC driver Randy Enger in the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes. He set the TQ in nitro buggy but ran into a mechanical issue in the main finished with a DNF. He started 2nd in the e buggy main and raced on to take the win and joining him on the podium was fellow JC driver Jeremy Reid (TQ)!

Making another diagonal we now head to Taylor Park RC Raceway in Yukon, OK. Team driver Tyler Keel competed there over the weekend for Round 10 of their point series and he came home with another TQ and win in the Outlaw Sprint class!

Making our third diagonal we now head to Rockdale, IL where Crawler Canyon RC Park is located at. Team driver Lukas Klein competed there recently in an elimination competition in the Class 2 division and took 1st overall!

Moving up to Michigan let’s get our next update from team driver Kyle Munson. He recently went to Wicked Pines RC in Wayland to compete in the 1/8 Electric Buggy and Pro4 classes for their season finale event. He would end up taking the TQ and win in both classes!

Leaping over Lake Michigan we splash down at Dirt Heaven Hobby and Raceway in New Franken, WI. There we find team driver Ryan Derenne who was competing at their outdoor season finale.

He raced in the 1/8 Electric Truggy and Mod Stadium Truck classes and would finish in 4th place in both!

Staying in Wisconsin let’s now head to Rick’s Hobby Farm in New Richmond for our next update. This track hosted the finals for the MNRC Minnesota Off-Road Racing Series which brought out 136 entries! Team driver Josh Ford raced in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy and Truggy classes for the finals. In buggy he would make his way up to 3rd place in the main before a flameout killed his chances for the win and he would finish in 9th place and 2nd overall in the points series! In truggy he started 3rd for the main and would take the win and the overall title in this class too!

Also competing in the finals was his tire teammate Joe Scaramell in the 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes plus 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy. After the season points were added up he would finish in 6th place in the 40+ nitro class!

Now let’s head out west to Snohomish, WA where the finals for DieHard RC’s point series took place. He raced in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and he took the win in the finals, plus the overall title in the points race too!

Now let’s get some updates from out international team starting with team driver Daemon Holon. This past weekend he went to Bego RC Raceway in Napierville, QC to compete in the finals for the Quebec RC Series. In the finals he would take the win in the 1/8 Nitro Truggy and Buggy classes plus 1/8 Electric Truggy, and when the points were calculated he also took the class championship for all three too!

Team driver Clément Boda raced last weekend in Normandy, France at the latest round of the 1/8 Nationals held on an astro/dirt track surface. After some close battles he would end up 5th overall with help from his dad and fellow JC driver Sebastien Mure!

Our final update this week comes to us courtesy of Australian team driver Jordan Isergin who recently competed in the Victorian 1/8th State Titles.

He raced in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class and put on a dominating performance as he TQed all rounds of qualifying and took the win in the main!
