2023 Alabama Manufacturer Shootout Report

The JConcepts team had a fantastic weekend attending the 2023 Alabama Manufacturer Shootout with drivers showing out across all the classes.

Over the weekend JC racers used tread patterns including Reflex, Detox, Rehab, and Relapse in compounds ranging from green, blue, and silver at various times during the weekend as the track changed and developed.

Practice took place using mostly Silver compound tires as the track held some moisture and was quick. Drivers had the following seeding results at the event:

Qualifying was the standard 3 rounds with the best 2 out of 3 rounds counting. Racers took advantage of the Silver Compound going into Q2 before switching to Green or Blue for Q3:

Racers then moved into the Super Pole on Saturday which took each main event and ran a 10 minute sprint. the finishing position at the end of each race would set the starting grid for the main events Sunday.

The winner of the lower Super Pole races would get an early bump up to the higher main events. These JConcepts drivers bumped into the A-Main through the Super Pole on Saturday:

The main events would see 3 drivers bump from each lower main up to the next before finally making it to the single nitro main events or the double or triple electric main events.

Pro Nitro Buggy would have Mason Fuller lead early before Ryan Maifield would take over, set the pace and never look back. Dakotah Phend would battle with Juan Carlos Canas for 2nd during the middle of the main before Phend would settle in and keep the position. Mason Fuller would then Battle with Canas and ultimately would steal the 3rd place position on the podium. Juan Carlos would finish up 4th with Ryan Lutz in 5th.

1st Ryan Maifield, 2nd Dakotah Phend, 3rd Mason Fuller

Pro Nitro Truggy saw Dakotah Phend lead from wire to wire. Ryan Maifield would settle into second after battling early with Juan Carlos Canas. Joe Bornhorst, Ryan Lutz, and Mason Fuller would all battle for the final 3 podium positions. In the end Lutz would get 3rd with Fuller 4th and Bornhorst 5th.

Pro Ebuggy, Juan Carlos would win A1 and A2 to take the overall victory. Spencer Rivkin would finish 2nd in A3 and that coupled with a 3rd in A1 would be enough for 2nd overall. Mason Fuller would finish 3rd overall after getting 5th in A1 and A2 and winning A3. Ty Tessmann would go from a bump spot to 4th place finisher with a 2nd place finish in A2 and 4th in A3. Dakotah Phend would finish out the podium in 5th with a 2nd in A1 and 7th in A3.
