Race Team Update – October 2023 Week #4

With Halloween on the horizon, the JConcepts race team continues to scare away the competition out on the race track this past weekend which you can read for yourself in this spooky edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report at GS Hobby in Barling, AR. The team was putting in work at their recent Walking Dead trophy race that dug up nearly 120 entries! Team driver Braxten Culley was at this race competing in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes. He would go on to TQ and win in both classes, and joining him on the wheeler podium were fellow tire teammates JR Mitch (2nd) and David Alberico (3rd) to complete the JConcepts podium sweep!

Team driver Mike Stoll competed in the Mod 2wd and Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy classes for this event. When it wrapped up he would finish 4th in 2wd and 5th in 13.5 wheeler!

JConcepts driver Matthew Pyle raced in both the Expert 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes. He would end up 4th in 4wd and 2nd place in 2wd! Joining him on the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy podium was his teammate Shane Alberico!

Speaking of Shane, he also signed up for the Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy class and would take the TQ and win!

Team driver Jordan Hefler made the trip to this track to compete in the Intermediate 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes along with 13.5 Stadium Truck. When the event had concluded he would finish 3rd in truck and took the TQ and win in both buggy classes!

Making our way to Missouri, we now get our next report from team driver Orlando Martinez. He recently raced at Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs for the 1st round of their Fall point series. He would finish 6th in 13.5 4wd Buggy and took the win in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Kicking it over to Kansas let’s stop in at Pitstop and Raceway in Newton to see how the team performed at their recent Fall Classic which netted 158 entries! Team driver Mason Herrick finished this event with the double TQ and win in the 13.5 4wd and Mod 2wd Buggy classes!

His tire teammate Ken Peterson let us know he finished 6th in Mod 2wd Buggy, 5th in 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy and 2nd overall in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy!

Moving north to Omaha, NE where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located let’s get this quick update from team driver Will Brinton. He competed there last weekend for the 1st round of their Dirt Oval Winter points series in the 410 Sprint car class, and he started off strong with a TQ and W!

Heading West down I-80 we make our way to Traction City RC in Webster City, IA. This past weekend they held their Track of Terror trophy race and team driver David Peavler finished 3rd in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy, plus 1st place in 40+ 2wd Buggy!

Staying in Iowa we now head to Bad Fast Hobbies in Sioux City. Team driver Mike Sanders competed there over the weekend for Round 2 of their Winter Series, and he finished up with a 5th place finish in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy plus a TQ and 5th place finish in 40+ 2wd Buggy!

Taking I-35 North let’s next stop in at Dollar Hobbyz in Woodbury, MN for this update from team driver Thor Ott. He recently competed in the 2nd round of their points series and he took the win the 17.5 2wd Buggy class! He was joined on the podium by fellow JC driver Brayden Nelson!

Bouncing over to the Hoosier state we roll up to Pro Source RC & Raceway located in Indianapolis. Team driver Brandon Marsh attended their recent Halloween trophy race, and he finished 2nd in 17.5 and Mod 2wd Buggy plus the TQ and win in 13.5 Stadium Truck!

Heading to the East Coast let’s stop in at PLRC (Power Line RC) in Fredericksburg, VA for our next report. This past weekend they held their Oktoberfest trophy race and team driver Rusty Mihelich brought the family out to throw down some laps with great success!

Crossing over into Tennessee we catch up with JC driver Randy Enger. This past weekend he went to race at the RC Farm in Crossville for their Halloween Bash trophy race. He raced in the 40+ 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes and locked up the final spot in both!

Flying down to Florida we get this quick report from team driver Brian Miller. This past weekend he went to the Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing in Ocala to compete in the Street Eliminator class, and he made his way into the semi finals!

Shooting over to Texas let’s see how the team finished up at the finals for the HARC (Houston Area RC) Series held at Mike’s Gulf Coast RC Raceway in the city of Porter. Starting with team driver Brian Henn he let us know that after the points were added up he would finish 4th in Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy and 1st place in 1/8 Electric Truggy!

Team driver Todd Geary also threw down laps at the finals, and when the season points were added up he finished 3rd in Open 1/8 Nitro Buggy class, plus took home some cold hard cash!

JC pilot Cameron Breaux raced in the finals too, and he would finish 4th in Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy and took the win in the Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy class! Joining him on the nitro buggy podium were fellow JC drivers Robbie Darby (2nd), Reggie Tongue (3rd) and Brian Germany (5th)!

Staying in Texas let’s head to 4way Speedway in Abilene for our next report. Team driver Kevin Lenderman recently visited this track and competed in their Headless Horseman trophy race. He would finish 2nd in the Wingless Sprint and took the TQ and win in the Street Stock class!

Finally, let’s get a quick update from our Australian team who recently competed at the 2023 RCRA 1/8 Off-Road Australian Titles held at the MORBC (Model Off-Road Buggy Club) track located near Whiteman Park, WA, Australia.

Team driver Alex Bernadzik would lead the charge for the JConcepts team as he finished 2nd in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class along with the win and national title in 1/8 Nitro Buggy!

His teammate Darren Johnston also competed in these same classes, and he also competed for the Senior and Sportsman titles. In the nitro and electric buggy he would miss out on the transfer spots for both classes, but he had better luck in the Senior finals as he finished 2nd overall, plus a TQ and win in the Sportsman class!


Fellow JC driver Ben Panic finished 11th in 1/8 Nitro Buggy, plus he picked up the W in the Senior finals too!
