Race Team Update – December 2023 Week #1

A new month is upon us, but it’s the same old results for the JConcepts race team as they continue their winning ways! Read all about it in this new edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report up at Trackside Hobbies in Brookfield, WI for their Toys for Tots race which saw 170 entries! Team driver Richie Peters signed up for this race and finished 5th in both the 13.5 4wd Buggy and Stadium truck classes along with a 3rd place finish in 17.5 2wd Buggy!

Next, let’s head down to Lake Waccamaw, NC to see how the team finished up at the recent 2023 Fall Brawl that saw 441 entries! Team driver Javon Mallory competed in the Open 1/8 Nitro Truggy, Intermediate 1/8 Electric Buggy and 1/8 Nitro Buggy classes. He would finish 11th in nitro buggy, 5th in truggy and took the win in e buggy!

His tire teammate David Olsen also competed in three different classes. He would finish 4th in Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy, 3rd in Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy and he also locked up 2nd place in 1/8 Nitro Truggy!

JConcept driver Cade Burnette also competed in the same three classes. He made all of the A Mains for his classes, but he had some bad luck in nitro buggy and had to retire early with a DNF. He bounced back in his other two classes starting with nitro truggy where he would lock up 3rd place, and then he grabbed another 3rd place finish in the e buggy A Main!

JC driver Maddy Long signed up for four different classes at this event. In the Intermediate 1/8 Nitro Buggy class she bumped to the A Main before retiring early with a DNF. In the Open 1/8 Electric Truggy class she finished 7th overall! In the Intermediate 1/8 Electric Buggy class she TQed all 3 rounds of qualifying and finished 6th overall! In the Open 1/8 Nitro Truggy class she bumped to the A Main and locked up 4th place! She also earns our coveted “ironman” ward this week for competing in four classes!

Team driver Derrick Harris signed up for the 1/8 Electric Truggy and Pro Electric Buggy classes for this race. He would finish 12th in e buggy and 8th overall in e truggy!

JC pilot Patrick Rossiter Jr. also raced in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class and secured a 3rd place finish!

Team driver Jake Stikeleather competed in the Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy class where he finished in 5th place!

Flying down to Florida we now check in with team driver Brian Miller. This past week he traveled to Triple Nickel Raceway in Bartow to compete in their final Thursday Night Thunder series race. He would finish in 2nd place for the series, and then on the following Saturday he competed in their Toys for Tots trophy race where he snagged another pair of 2nd place finishes!

Shooting over to Texas let’s see how the team performed at a few different events happening throughout the state. Starting with JC driver Kevin Mcnatt he recently competed at the Fall Brawl dirt oval event held at Thompson RC Raceway in Justin. He raced in the SC Mod class and finished 2nd on the podium!

Heading to Garland where Indy RC World is located we catch up with JConcepts driver Edwin Ortiz. He recently competed at their 28th Annual Lonestar Classic, and he finished 4th in 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy and 3rd place in Open 1/8 Electric Buggy!

Team driver Scott Brewer raced at the 23rd Grinch Grand Prix held at Amarillo Raceway Park in the city of Amarillo. He raced in the Open 1/8 Nitro Truggy class and finished 3rd overall!

JC pilot Brian Henn competed in a Toys for Tots race held at Mike’s Gulf Coast RC Raceway in the city of Porter. He signed up for the Open 1/8 Electric Truggy and Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy classes, and when the dust had settled he would finish 6th in e buggy and grabbed the TQ and finished 2nd overall in the the e truggy class!

Angling our way to Arizona we meet up with team driver James Rodriguez. He recently went to the Dirt Track at Dunns in Litchfield Park to race in their inaugural dirt oval Open Motor Championships. He raced in two classes and finished 3rd in Outlaw Sprint and 2nd place in Super Late Model!

Now, let’s head further west into California to see how the team performed at a few different events. Starting with team driver Peyton Heizer he recently went to Modesto RC Raceway in Modesto to race in the Modesto Uncle Timmy Shoot Out. He entered the Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy class and finished 2nd overall! Joining him on the podium in 1st place was fellow JC driver Derek Stephansen!

Next, we head to Hot Rod Hobbies in Santa Clarita to see how the team finished up at the recent So Cal Monster Trucks Racing Series Winter Finals that was held there. Starting with team driver Jeremy Bunting he reports that he competed in the Pro Mod and Retro classes, and after the racing had concluded he would finish 2nd in Retro!

Also competing in the finals was his teammate Trever Adamo. He would take the win in the Pro Mod class that day, and after the season points were tallied up he would take 1st place in the Retro, Pro Mod and Freestyle classes plus the Extreme Air award!

Our final report this week is comes to us courtesy of international team driver Alberto Garcia. This past weekend he raced at the 1/8 Off-Road Madrid Championship and finished in 4th place!
