Race Team Update – December 2023 Week #3

The JConcepts race team finishes off the year strong with another winning weekend. Read all about it in this new edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out in sunny California in the town of Camarillo where the Roadrunners RC Club is located. Team driver Jesse Granat recently competed there in their Toys for Tots trophy race and he finished 3rd in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Staying in Cali we now pivot over to Ceres where Full Throttle Hobbies is located. Team driver Dennis Wilson recently went there to compete in their Sleighing For Santa trophy race, and he finished 2nd in Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy and 1st place in 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy!

Shooting over to Texas let’s get a few updates from the team competing at different events. Starting with JC driver Jordan Hefler he traveled to Abilene where 4way Speedway is located at to compete in their annual Candy Cane Classic event. He signed up for six classes and took the TQ and win in all of them! This earns him our coveted “ironman” award for the week, and joining him on the SC Mod podium in 2nd place was fellow team driver Noel Cerda!

Staying in the state we now go to N-Control RC Racing Circuit located in the city of Dale. This track recently put on their Rumble At The Roost race and team driver Billy DiCorte Jr. competed in three classes.

He would finish 3rd overall in both the Street Stock and Midwest Modified classes plus a 2nd place finish in the 10.5 Sprint class!

Also running at this event for the team was our driver Cody Babbitt in the SC Mod, Midwest Mod and Late Model classes. He would grab the TQ in the SC and Midwest Mod classes, and in the mains he would finish 4th in Late Model, plus picked up the wins in the SC and Midwest Mod classes!

Now we head over to FORC Raceway in Jonesboro, AR to see how the team performed at their Winter Kick off event.

Starting with team driver Drew Spurgeon he reported that he finished 3rd in Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy, plus he took the TQ and win in the Stadium Truck class!

Team drivers Calvin Bruce and Braden Bruce also attended this recent event. Starting with Braden he was on fire that weekend as he TQed all the rounds of qualifying in the Expert 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes, plus Mod 2wd Buggy! In the mains he would race on to finish 1st in all of them! His dad Calvin also competed in the same three classes and at the end of the event he would finish 2nd in all of them!

Heading north across the stateline we make our way to Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs, MO for our next update. Team driver Orlando Martinez competed there over the weekend in Round 3 of their Winter Saturday Series. He would finish the round with a TQ in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class, plus a win in this class along with another W in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class!

Heading up I-35 we make our way now to Dollar Hobbyz Raceway in Woodbury, MN. This last weekend they held Round 4 of their Winter Series and team driver Thor Ott finished 2nd in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class! His tire teammate Kyle Holmberg took the TQ and win in this class along with another TQ and win in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class!

Crossing over into Wisconsin we make our way to Brookfield where Trackside Hobbies & Raceway is located at. This past Saturday they saw 178 entries competing in their points series race! JConcepts driver Skyler Bergeron competed in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes and he would lock up the double TQ and win!

Team driver Kraig O’Brien also attended this latest round and competed in 13.5 Stadium Truck along with Mod 2wd Buggy. He would go on to finish 4th in buggy, plus set the TQ and finish 2nd overall in truck!

Heading out east we first stop in at TR Speedway in Tarentum, PA. There we find team driver Brandon Marsh who signed up for Round 3 of their carpet off-road series. He raced in three classes and would TQ Mod 2wd Buggy and 13.5 Stadium Truck, plus start 2nd overall in 17.5 2wd Buggy! After the mains were ran he would finish 3rd in 17.5 buggy, 2nd in Mod 2wd and took the win in stadium truck!

Heading down the coastline we now find ourselves at Adrenaline RC Raceway in Winchester, VA. They recently held their USRC Toys for Tots race on Saturday and team driver Javon Mallory finished 5th in Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy, plus he took the TQ and win in 1/8 Nitro Buggy! The next day they held Round 4 of their 1/8 Off-Road points race, and Javon once again competed in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy class where he would pick up the win!

Crossing over into North Carolina we make our way to Thunder Alley RC Speedway in city of Lucama. Team driver Maddy Long signed up to compete in their 16th annual Christmas Race and she would finish the event with a 3rd place finish in Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy, plus a TQ and 2nd place finish in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Moving down to South Carolina we now go to Beach RC & Hobbies in Myrtle Beach. This past weekend they held their Jingle Bell Jam 2023 event and team driver Dave McEwen signed up for three classes. When the event had concluded he would finish 3rd in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes, pus a TQ and W in the Mod Short Course Truck class!

Staying in the state we now visit Sumter RC Raceway in the city of Sumter for this quick update from team driver David Olsen. He raced there last weekend in their Racer’s Appreciation Race that brought out 112 entries! When the event was over he would walk away with the double TQ and win in the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes!

Heading to Georgia now we stop in at the Loganville RC Complex in Loganville for this quick update from team driver Cole Kasten. He raced there last weekend in their Race for a Cause event, and he would set the TQ and then race on for the win in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Clément Boda. This past weekend he raced in a Christmas themed event near Paris, France in the Mod 2wd Buggy class, and he would race on to TQ all rounds of qualifying, plus picked up the win in all three finals!
