Race Team Update – November 2023 Weeks #3 & #4

Even the busy holiday season can’t stop the JConcepts race team from gobbling up the competition. Read about our winning ways in this special double stuffed Race Team Update!

Let’s first go back to the weekend before Thanksgiving to see how the team performed. Our first stop is at Dollar Hobbyz in Woodbury, MN for Round 3 of their Winter Points Series. Team driver Thor Ott was at this round and took the win in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Now, let’s head down to Bad Fast Hobbies in Sioux City, IA where team driver David Peavler competed in their Turkey Shootout race event. When it was over he would finish 5th in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy plus a TQ and win in the 40+ 2wd Buggy class!

Our next stop is in Omaha, NE where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located.

Team driver Will Brinton competed in Round 2 of their Dirt Oval Winter series, and he would double down with two TQs and wins in the Mod Sprint and Late Model classes!

The day prior to that the Plex also held Round 3 of their Carpet Off-Road Syndicate series. Team driver and race director Alex Sturgeon ran the races and also found time to take care of business in the Mod 2wd Buggy class with a TQ and win!

Kicking it down south to Kansas we now stop in at RC Pitstop & Raceway in Newton. They recently held Round 1 of their carpet series before Thanksgiving week and team driver Ken Peterson finished 2nd in Mod 2wd Buggy!

Shooting down to Hutto, TX we catch up with team driver Billy DiCorte Jr.

He traveled to Thornhill Racing Circuit to race in Round 7 of their Championship Series, and he would end the round with a 4th place finish in Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy and the TQ and win in 1/8 Electric Truggy!

Heading east we now check in with team driver David Olsen. He visited Sumter RC Raceway in Sumter, SC to compete in their Toys For Tots trophy race, and would lock up the TQ and 1st place in both the Pro 1/8 Nitro and Truggy classes!

Crossing the state line into North Carolina we make our way to the city of Lucama where Thunder Alley is located. Before Thanksgiving week they held their 4th Annual Turk-E Race, and team driver Josh Parrish set the TQ and finished 2nd in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes!

Moving further north we stop in DRP Raceway in Old Forge, PA for this quick update from JConcepts driver Bibie Cruz. He attended their 10th Annual Battle of the Bird trophy race, and he grabbed the TQ and win in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes, along with Stadium Truck, and he also earned himself three frozen turkeys!

Heading further northeast we catch up with JC driver Matt Perault. Before Thanksgiving week he raced at RC Excitement in Fitchburg, MA for their Turkey Gobbler event. He would finish 2nd in both the Mod 4wd and 17.5 2wd Buggy classes, plus a TQ and win in the 40+ Mod 4wd Buggy class! Joining him on the 40+ podium was fellow team driver Michael Fredericks in 3rd place!

Australian team driver Lachlan Donnelly competed at XRS in Sydney before the holiday break, and would round up two more TQ and wins in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes!

After the Thanksgiving break the team went right back to work that following weekend to carry on our winning momentum! Starting down in Florida, we catch up with team driver Patrick Rossiter Jr. who recently traveled to Callahan Off-Road RC Raceway in the town of Callahan to compete in the finals for the Florida RC Championships. He would finish the round with a 3rd place finish in Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy, and joining him on the podium in 1st place was his tire teammate Julien Oliveras along with JC driver Trent Walker in 2nd!

Cutting the corner to South Carolina let’s next visit Moncks Corner Raceway in the town of Corner. This past weekend they held a Toys for Tots trophy race, and JC driver David Olsen collected another TQ and win in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Heading west to Arkansas we stop in at GS Hobby in the city of Barling. This past weekend they put on their Turkey Trot race and team driver Matthew Pyle reported that he finished 6th in 13.5 4wd Buggy and 2nd in 17.5 2wd Buggy! His tire teammate Braxten Culley was also at this race and he finished 2nd in 13.5 wheeler and took the TQ and win in 17.5 2wd Buggy!

Staying in the state we now visit FORC Raceway in Jonesboro for this quick update from team driver Drew Spurgeon. He recently competed there for their opening round of their Winter points series, and he would leave this event with two wins, one in 13.5 4wd Buggy and the other in Stadium Truck!

Crossing over into Missouri we make our way to Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs. This past weekend they held round 2 of their Winter Points series, and JConcepts driver Adam Kasch just missed the bump to the A in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class, but he did make the show for the 13.5 4wd Buggy class where he finished 7th overall!

Also racing at this most recent round was fellow JC pilot Mike Garrison. He also raced in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class and would finish in 3rd place!

Heading over to the “Land of Lincoln” we meet up with team driver Brayden Billington. This past weekend he competed at RJD Hobbies in the town of Lincoln for their Turkey Shootout trophy race. He would set the TQ in the Mod 2wd Buggy and Mini Truggy classes, and then race on to finish 2nd in buggy and 1st in truggy!

Moving up to Michigan we now visit Dirt Burner Racing Hobbies and Raceway in Livonia to see how the team finished at their recent Turkey trophy race. Starting with JConcepts driver Kevin Morales he let us know that he finished 5th in 17.5 2wd Buggy and 2nd place in 13.5 4wd Buggy! Joining him on the 13.5 4wd Buggy podium in 1st place was fellow JC driver Collin Miles!

His tire teammate Chris Rothwell was also at this event and finished 9th in 17.5 2wd Buggy and 4th place in 40+ 2wd Buggy!

Leaping over Lake Michigan we splash down at Dirt Heaven Hobby and Raceway in New Franken, WI.

This past weekend they held their Great Pie race, and team driver Ryan Derenne finished 7th in the 40+ Super Stock 2wd Buggy class, plus a 4th place finish in Mod Stadium Truck!

Moving over to Minnesota we head back to Dollar Hobbyz in Woodbury to see how the team finished up at Round 1 of the Border Battle Series. Team driver Austin Jacobson competed in the 13.5 4wd and Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy classes, and he would end up 5th in 2wd and 2nd overall in 4wd!

Also racing there for the team was JConcepts driver Christopher Malooly. He would put in solid results as he finished 4th in both the 13.5 4wd and Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy classes!

Team driver Thor Ott was also racing at this series, and he picked up another win along with a TQ in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Adam Peters. This past Sunday he attended the final round of the Beat the Heat series at Ricochet RC Speedway in El Centro, CA. He raced in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class and would set the TQ, finish 2nd in A1, then bounced back to take the win in A2! After the tie breaker was applied he would win in this class for the round, and he also claimed the series title for this class as well!
