JConcepts recently released the Scalloped inserts for 2.2″ front and rear 2wd buggy tires. Find out what these inserts do and why you might want to give them a try.
These inserts are a slightly stiffer molded open cell option to the rear insert included with the JConcepts carpet tires. When used with the rear tires, the inserts can increase mid-corner rolling speed. This will allow the tire to hold up more solidly to hard impacts or landings.
When used in the front tires these inserts can decrease over-steer and create a more consistent and usable steering arc. They also much like the rear inserts hold up more consistently on hard impacts and landings.

Still testing front scalloped inserts on carpet. So far they do just as described making steering inputs and landings much smoother and consistent. I’ve also noticed it appears to help with more even tire wear across the entire tread width. Just increasing steering dual rate 3 clicks achieves similar corner steering than running without the inserts.
